((Sorry for the late response. The kid was sent home from daycare because of a cough that I haven't heard yet, so I've been at the park all day. It's great, but also not great!))
Gnurl, seeing the half-orc yield, nods at him and says "Call off your friends!" He then directs his spiritual weapon to attack one of the halflings (3) while he swings his own warhammer at the other. Aiming to knock out, not to kill.
The halfling proves to be rather elusive; he evades both of Gnurl's attacks. A moment later, Lizzy--Perrin's leopard companion--flies through the door of the inn and slides to a stop near Perrin. Her teeth are bared and ready to sink into one of the halflings.
The half-elf barks an order to his crew, "Enough, lads. Enough!"
All four of the kidnappers keep their weapons at the ready, but none attack. Glaring at Anda, the half-elf says, "The web, wizard. Remove it so we may leave. You have my word. No more trouble."
Combat has ended. Initiative order is no longer in effect.

Anda lifts his hand, showing a mote of flame he is ready to hurl (fire bolt, readied). “Your word means nothing to us. Earn your freedom by telling us what you are doing. Or burn.” He rolls the flame between his fingers. “You killed my familiar. I know what I’d prefer. But you still have a chance. Talk.”

Intimidation can be done with advantage, considering the circumstances. Here's the second (advantage) roll for Anda: 6
The half-elf continues to glare at Anda, and he seems prepared to offer a response. Before he does so, however, Temerity interrupts the scene. The tiefling has rushed down the upstairs hallway and now stands next to Anda. She looks over the railing, taking in the scene below. Confusion and anger show on her face, but she controls herself. "Murasa! Are you hurt?! Murasa!"
Murasa, trembling, steps out of the kitchen. "I am here. No harm has come to me. These four..."--motioning toward Anda, Gnurl, Attalia, and Perrin--"...have aided me."
Temerity now begins to walk down the stairs. Looking at the half-elf, she says, "I heard what the wizard said, you fool. I'm certain you heard him as well. Explain yourself!"
The half-elf looks at his fellow kidnappers, one by one, and then looks at Temerity. "Hired to take the Shou woman. It was supposed to be a small job. Deliver her safely to..."
"To whom?" Temerity demands.
After a lengthy pause, the half-elf replies. "To the Zhentarim. Port Nyanzaru. I know nothing more. Surely you know the Zhentarim wouldn't tell us why they want the girl. Let us go."
The half-elf then throws down his quarterstaff. The other three kidnappers do likewise, setting their weapons on the tables.
Temerity then speaks to the four of you. "The Shore of Dreams owes you much. Thank you, friends. Thank you. I will have the city guards handle this affair now. You've done more than enough. I pray you'll be able to rest tonight."
The Zhentarim, one of the factions in Faerun, would be familiar to each of you.
The Zhentarim, also known as the Black Network, is an unscrupulous shadow network that seeks to expand its influence and power base throughout the North. Its members crave wealth and personal power, though the public face of the organization appears much more benign, offering the best mercenaries money can buy. Adventurers allied with the Zhentarim are free to profit as they see fit.
"Ah yes, the flipping Zhentarim that are always up to no good! I dont think the city guards will be much good, other then throwing these ones in jail perhaps. Not if the Zhentarim try again" He turns to Murasa with a questioning look "But what does a criminal organization as dark as this one want with this poor woman?"
"The guards will indeed lock up these miscreants," declares Temerity.
As if on command, four city guards enter the room and lead the kidnappers away. As they do so, Temerity calls after them. "The Zhentarim will have no foothold in Yokotoro. Let it be known."
Temerity then looks to Murasa and says, "Yes, I too wonder what the Zhentarim might want of you. Murasa?"
"I do not know," Murasa replies, still trembling. "This is a mistake. There is no sense in it. I am not well. Allow me the peace and safety of my quarters. Thank you for saving me."
Murasa then approaches Attalia--the hero who is closest to her--and takes hold of her hands in a gesture of gratitude. As she does so, she places a small vial of liquid in Attalia's palm. Murasa then leans forward and whispers, "Place a drop in your drink before each meal. I can say no more."
Murasa then hurriedly makes her way upstairs.
Temerity then tells the four of you that she will make Pisca aware of tonight's goings-on and the role you have played in them. "I do not believe I am being presumptuous in declaring your food, drink, and rooms will be on the house. Goodnight, and thank you, friends. I will now pay a visit to our seldom-used jail."
For the sole purpose that his ear is the only one that he can reach, Perrin walks up to Gnurl and shifts his weight to his toes to extend his height, perfectly aligning his mouth to his companions ear. "I do not like any of this. The Zhentarim, the guards arriving so quickly, Murasa not giving a decent explanation, Pisca meeting with the kidnappers this very day... Perhaps I see ghosts where there are non but Lizzy will be guarding my door tonight. Let us meet Pisca and get away from this place while we still can".
"Truly." Gnurl whispers back with a nod. At normal volume, "Lets put ourselves to bed, then."
((Are we in one room, or each in our own?))
Assuming nothing happens on the way to the rooms, Gnurl will enter his room and ritually cast detect magic taking time to thoroughly inspect the room for anything magical. If the group is sleeping in separate rooms, Gnurl will inspect each room with just as much care. Once the magical inspection is done, Gnurl will also make a slow and methodical physical inspection for any traps or places someone might listen or spy on the rooms, using guidance liberally to aid the search.
Gnurl magically scrutinizes everyone's sleeping quarters, and after fifteen minutes or so, he is confident that nothing is amiss. Nothing magical is detected and no traps are found. The night passes without incident, and all of you are greeted with morning sunshine and sea air the next morning. So beautiful is the weather and scenery outside, it's almost hard to believe that last night's strange events actually occurred.
You are informed by Temerity in the morning that Pisca plans to meet with you after her evening performance. The triton has other previous engagements that prevent her from doing so any sooner. Temerity confirms that your food and drinks will be provided at no charge, and she hopes you enjoy your day in Yokotoro.
(So, the four of you have roughly twelve hours at your disposal before meeting with Pisca)
Meeting with the rest of the group the next morning, Gnurl says, "Is there anything we'd like to do before tonight's show? Explore the town? Make more inquiries? I've no idea what to expect at this point, except to expect anything!" Looking out over the sunlight reflecting on the water, "If there's nothing pressing, I wouldn't mind giving my new fishing gear a try." With a laugh, "Perrin, weren't you going to show me some new techniques, as well?"
Before going to bed, Atallia would have called everyone over and showed them the vial and repeat what Murasa told her. She does not partake of the inn's hospitality in the morning but instead heads out early for some rooftop exercises.

"oh yes! That would be fun!" he says, still munching on slice of cake "Relaxing on the waters edge would be great, I'm down for some fishing. Perhaps we should check on Murasa, on the way back, I'd like to cook her a couple of our catches. Anda you should come along too it might be a while before Atallia is back from her morning training"
Perrin having wandered (background feature) to many different places has picked up a number of fishing techniques. He soon uses his bow to hit a few surface fish and catching another larger one using his thumb as bait! Lizzy also catches her fair share. After seasoning the fish with some salts and rosemary he lets them cook slowly over a low flame while he attempts to entertain his companion(s) with his songhorn (16).
Later, if Murasa can be found he offers her some of the fish, asking if she's feeling any better and if she's remembered anything that might have made her the target. He pays attention to see if she still feels scared or is hiding something. Insight: 21
(OOC: I wanted to get a bad roll on my songhorn (I dont have prof) to give my dwarf friend something to complain about, but nooo! I had to roll a 20! XD)
While Perrin and Lizzy have wild success with their fishing, Gnurl attempts to use his new rod and lures for the first time. Having only done bait fishing before, lure fishing is a bit of a challenge to figure out.

"The lures are simple; they make sense. The technique isn't difficult." Gnurl frowns. "But the fish... well. I can't blame them now can I?" Gnurl smiles toward Perrin's haul, "Perhaps I should have left the fishing to you and Lizzy after all! Or perhaps I should practice my craft." Basking in Perrin's expert playing. "You know, some days I want to smash that songhorn on my anvil and stop it from ever making noise again. But I always hold back because of days like today."
Attaliareveals the small vial of liquid to the rest of you and informs you of the cryptic message given by Murasa: Place a drop in your drink before each meal. Andaverifies that the liquid has no magical properties. Removing the tiny cork and smelling the contents reveals a faint floral aroma.
While Attalia spends the day in meditation and exercise, Gnurland Perrin establish their prowess as fishermen. Anda goes along with them, sitting nearby and using the time in typical wizard fashion: scrutinizing his spellbook and practicing the intricate somatic components for his spells. Gnurl and Perrinturn a few heads as they walk past the locals with their catch.
Unable to find Murasa before she reports to work at the Shore of Dreams, the three of you (Anda, Gnurl, and Perrin) attempt to have a few words with her about what took place last night. She avoids answering any questions, explaining that she has much to do before the place begins to fill with customers for the midday meal. You notice that Murasa glances at Temerity (who is behind the bar doing a few menial tasks) a few times during your brief interaction. You sense that Murasa would rather not talk to you in the tiefling's presence.
Temerity does remind you that Pisca is eager to spend an hour or two with you this evening.
When the group is together in a private place, away from prying ears. "Perhaps Murasa staying on after Pisca took over the inn wasn't so magnanimous after all. It seems something strange is going on and the woman does not Temerity, at the least." Looking over the vial and smelling the floral notes in it one more time, "Perrin, you've a way with plants just as with animals. Perhaps you could use that fancy herbalism kit of yours and figure out what is in this brew?"
