Alaster quickly draws his Boomstick and fires a shard of ice at the nearest enemy. He then pumps his cannon to restore some of Hoghead's temporary strength.

Sorry, you cannot cast two leveled spells in a round, not unless you use something like Action surge to do so. Even then you cannot do so with a Bonus Action spell involved. Please read up on that if you haven't yet, since a Bonus Action spell can only be cast on a round when you have not cast any other leveled spells. Please revise your action accordingly.
Also, this is something to keep in mind, for those going into melee... Stench. Any creature other than a catoblepas that starts its turn within 10 feet of the catoblepas must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of the creature’s next turn. On a successful saving throw, the creature is immune to the stench of any catoblepas for 1 hour.
