Tygrondoes one last sweep of the cave complex, and checks all the items that you retrieved. You don't pick up on any trace of magic anywhere.
Once free the wolves stay close to Tygron for a while, seeming to trust him more than the others.
Sildar climbs onto a mule and you make your way back down the trail, finding the wagon where you left it. If you were to look back you would see Klarg heading back into the cave with a large rock in one hand... Somewhere along this first bit of the trail the wolves disappear into the woods.
With the mules reattached to the wagon, the injured Sildarpropped in amongst the goods, you make your way back South to the Triboar Trail itself, taking a left and heading East. It's a long, but peaceful march along the trail, by the time you reach the town of Phandalin it is dark. Thankfully it's a clear night with a bright moon and you can navigate the last mile of the Trail with relative easy.
The outskirts of Phandalin is populated by empty buildings, giving a hint to how big the town was in it's heyday when the mines in the local mountains were in full flow. You walk through the deserted outskirts towards the centre and find signs of population there, entering the town from the North.
Sildar directs you down the road to a small square and gets you to stop here. On your left is an inn, the Stonehill Inn, which looks to be newer built than some of the town.
"We can get food, drink and lodgings here. Tie the mules up outside and the owner will tend to them, I'm sure. Follow me." says Sildar, before hobbling into the Inn. ((Assume some, or all, of you will follow into the Inn))
In the Inn there is a common area with a few locals drinking, eating and chatting in. It goes momentarily silent as the party walk through the door, before the noise resumes again. Sildar makes his way to the bar.
"Drinks....Food....lodgings for myself and my companions...please" he says to the Innkeeper.
"Well.....of course of course. I can offer you 4 rooms, and....that table over there...get seated and I will get someone to get take your orders." says the Innkeeper.
Sildar walks to the table with you and then says "I am going straight to bed, I need rest. Thank you for helping me. Tomorrow morning I will get you the 50gp I promised you, but for now, sleep. And the rooms, food and drink are on me tonight." With that he walks back to the Innkeeper, grabs the key to his room, asks for food and drink to be sent up and disappears up the stairs.
A young barmaid walks up to you grinning "Good Evening to you all, and my what a bunch of thirsty looking people I see before me! My name is Elsa, can I get you anything? I recommend the local ale....and of course the pie we do is heavenly"
((You are welcome to not go straight into the Inn and explore the town, but you have been at it since sunrise so will start taking exhaustion!))
Tygron smiles and says “Aye, ale and a pie would hit me spot right now, Elsa.“ He enjoys himself at the Inn, not getting drunk but enjoying a couple pints, food and company.
(The wagon, by the way, is now thoroughly decorated with goblin weapons, Tygron’s trophies. They are still useable, just mounted on the sides). He says”methinks we should be tellin the local authorities about the goblin hideout, the stuff still there and the caves. I be thinking maybe they should station some guards there to watch the road and keep them caves from being used as a hideout fer other baddies.”

Ryn: Before he leaves the cavern, Ryn ask for Tygron's help one last time, saying, "I'll catch up. I just... need to make sure."
Side Mission:
With Tygron's guidance, he'll lay in wait for Klarg and then follow his trail.
Stealth: 5(Dis.Adv.) + 2 (Guidance)
Survival: 23
If Ryn thinks Klarg is heading toward where Yeemik marked on the map, he'll take the Bugbear down. Otherwise, he'll catch up with the wagon and continue on.
Arriving at the Inn, Ryn will sit and order a meal. Uncomfortable in populated places, he says quietly, "We need a rest, but we should get back on the road soon. Gundren is still out there and we have no idea how they knew where he'd be. Could be spies everywhere in this blasted place."
"I could use some refreshment myself," the elf agrees. "But we do have a wagonful of goods sitting in the street. Where are we supposed to deliver them?" He pauses long enough to place an order when it's his turn. "Elsa, I'll definitely have a piece of that pie you offered. But before that, I could use a good stew. Beef or potato or...anything, really." He smiles. "And a nice hot loaf." He waits until the orders are taken and Elsa moves off before continuing. "Did Gundren tell any of you who his contact is? He had to have mentioned where to take the goods," he points out.
Teo watches what Indio orders and asks for the same. He eats with a measure of calm, as if he isn’t certain he will have another meal like this one and needs to savor it.
Responding to Indio, “It was Barthen’s Provisions. That’s Gundren’s contact here. We can stop by first thing in the morning, and see about selling off the other stuff we collected. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I need some coin in my pocket.”
“Aye- to havin some coin in our pockets!“ Tygron toasts. “We’ve got some gold comin to us from our host here, and we can sell whot we’ve got, and see what we needs to get to be ready fer that castle. I’ll make sure the wagon’ in a secure place tonight. Like to ‘ave a look at the local smithy and see if they be any good, mayhap they wants our goblin weapons fer the steel.”
. (He talks to the innkeeper to ensure the wagon and mules will be watched or locked up)
Indio tears off a piece of his bread, scoops some stew with it, and chews thoughtfully. "Do you think the cargo will be safe? Perhaps we should take it now, before it's too dark." He takes another bite, listening.
Melaria, needing sleep will order her food up to her room and head up, asking the others not to disturb her.
For DM:
After Melaria goes up, she'll sit on her bed with her legs crossed and begin to meditate, calling out to Vlaakith in a quiet whisper. "Vlaakith, can you hear me? I need your assistance... We are looking for Gundren Rockseeker and I need to know what I might be walking into."
Teo replies to Indio, “If Tygron feels the cart is safe, that’s good enough for me. But you and I can trade off guard duty if you wish. We don’t need much sleep anyway.”
Teo gestures for one more ale before turning to the cleric. “Tell me, Tygron, how does a holy man such as yourself find himself swinging a war hammer at goblins heads? All the priests I’ve known have been cloistered away in some musty library.”
The food and drink seems to have made Tygron talkative. Tygron says “interestin story that. I was a smith most me life. I can make near anything out o’metal- from a crown one of yer elven queens would be proud to wear to this here warhammer. I can do tinkering too- ye need it fixed, built- anything- I can do it. Me work is still might well known among the stout folk. Just ask em if they’ve heared of Blackhammer Forge..”he smiles at the memories”. Well one day a few tendays back, me shop and home were attacked and robbed. I was left fer dead, me family- me wife and youngins didn’t make it. “Here his voice cracks, and some dampness shows in his eyes. He pauses, wipes a callused hand across his face and then continues.”while I be out cold, thinkin about crossin over that bridge we all must be crossin one days, I has a vision. Marthhammor Duin - a thin blackbearded dwarf dressed in green and brown- himself came to me in my dream. “ here, his voice cracks a bit from pride instead of sorrow” and he says me family is happy in that other place and he wants me to take up me warhammer and see about protecting those whot travel, that he has things in mind fer me to do afore I join me family. And so I joined the volamtar - the blazers of fresh trails- his order o’ priestfolk that does -well- whot I been doing- travelin about, helpin people, makin the roads safe and findin lost people like Meleria when she be in the woods. Don’t be knowin where me trail be leadin- but it be lookin like ye folks be stuck with me fer a bit! “
Ryn hides himself well and watches the Bugbear emerge and start making his way directly West from the cave, ignoring the path you came in on and following the natural geography of the hill the cave was in. Despite Ryn's armour, he manages to stay hidden and track the bugbear. You follow him for long enough to convince yourself that he is making his way North towards NeverWinter as you suggested and not to the East to Cragmaw Castle.
You return back to the cave and chance a quick look at Yeemik and his cronies. You don't stay for long, but it didn't look like any of them were alive.
StoneHill Inn As you sit and eat the Innkeeper comes over himself with a round of drinks. "My name's Toblen, Toblen Stonehill. Your friend Sildar will pay for these, and don't worry about your wagon and mules, they're round back now, they'll be safe enough. Let me know when you want them back and I'll bring them round front for you. Sildar said he would be at the townhall tomorrow and to find him there after you've rested and had some breakfast. I'll leave you be now!" The innkeeper walks back behind the bar to clean glasses and serve other customers.
Elsa brings your food over "Hello again! Here's some grub. I'm guessing you lot are adventurers, you just have that look about you, yes you do. You should speak to Daran whilst you're in town, he used to be an adventurer, of course he's getting on now, but I'm sure he'd love to meet some people that remind him of the days of old. If he were younger he'd deal with those pesky Redbrands. He's got an orchard on the North side of the town, you probably passed it on the way in, but I suppose it would have been too dark to see." She senses she is talking too much, "I could gossip for Mystra herself. I'll be here at breakfast - I'll tell you all you need to know about the town then." And with that, she wanders off and starts chatting to another table out of earshot, not before smiling and giggling at Ryn.
((Please level up to level 3 - told you we'd get up a few levels quickly - you'll get to full HP etc after the long rest overnight))
Indio shakes his head. "No, Teo, if both Tygron and our host here are satisfied it's safe, I'll not second guess them," he says. He takes another bite of stew and considers the other elf. "You know, when Prior Maborel told me this would be a journey of self-discovery, I thought I knew what he meant," he confides. "You, my friend, are the incarnation of everything I wanted to be when I was in the business. Quiet. Deadly." He smiles wryly. "Tall." He shakes his head. "It has brought back some memories...and some longing, I confess. Those were fun days. I have to consider if that was why he allowed me to go. To chose whether or not to go back to it. It's rather tempting."
Teo chuckles at Indio's compliments, "I can be as quiet and deadly as I need to be, I suppose. I can't say I enjoy the killing, but it's better than being killed, and that's all I'll say about that." He raises a glass to his compatriots. "To the wanderers." He says this next bit to Tygron. "And to those that wait for us at the journey's end."
With that, Teo throws back his drink and pushes himself back from the table. "I'm going to meditate for a bit. Do some reading. Shake off this buzzing in my head. It's a busy day tomorrow. Tygron! Ryn! Indio! Melaria, wherever you are! A good night to you all." He bows, deeply, and steadies himself with the chair. He begins to leave, but stops himself, fighting the alcohol.
He leans back toward the group and says with a conspiratorial whisper, "I have an idea. Tomorrow, let's not die." Satisfied, he turns around and slowly exits the room.
Ryn: Ryn smiles awkwardly at the barmaid, not quite sure if that's a trail he should be following at the moment. Turning back to the table, he says, "You've all such interesting stories... I feel a bit out of place. I was but a simple farmer living outside Thundertree, until plague took the town. Took my family, too."
He pauses, looking off a moment, before continuing, "I've just been wandering since. Trying to put my father's training to good use." He enjoys a meal with his new friends before saying goodnight, stepping outside into the crispy night air to clear his mind.
The last day of hard fighting has awoken lost memories of Ryn's father training him to fight. Tactics and maneuvers return in flashes. Before he rests for the evening, Ryn spends much of the late hours training behind the Inn, repeating the movements again and again until he has mastered them.
After the last couple of days of marching a fighting you all sleep well. The rooms are small and functional, but they serve their purpose.
In the morning you all convene back in the common room for breakfast (it's 1sp each for a large hearty breakfast with a mug of coffee). As you eat Elsa comes over and starts explaining to you the lay of the town and gossiping away.
Just north of the Stonehill Inn is Barthen's Provisions (general goods sold here). There is a small shrine at the North of the square, a shrine to Tymora. South is the TownHall, where Sildar said to meet him. Opposite the Townhall, but still on the square is Lionshield Coster(merchant that also stocks weaponry) Further South is the Phandalin's Miner Exchange (where miners take their finds) SouthEast of the TownHall is a large farm, Alderleaf Farm. NorthWest side of town is Daran's Orchard. There's a trail leading East out of the town, at the end of which is the Sleeping Gianttavern. Elsa mentions it is frequented by local thugs, who call themselves the Redbrands. And further East still is an old decrepit manor house, sat atop a hill.
((For the sake of efficiency I will assume you take the wagon to Barthen's provisions first and retrieve your 10gp each. Whilst there you mention Gundren has gone missing and the owner tell you that Gundren was excited when he last saw him, and Gundren said he had found the lost mine of Phandelver's pact in the nearby hills. He also mentions that you should keep your wits about you, as the Rebrands don't take kindly to new faces. Then make your way to the Townhall to collect the other 50gp from Sildar))
TownHall The townhall is a sturdy building with a pitched wooden roof, and a bell tower towards the back. As you enter you notice a sign saying "REWARD!!!! Orcs near Wyvern Tor. Help needed! Ask the TownMaster within."
You enter the Townhall and notice that the building has a small jail comprising of two cells. Sildarsees you come in and walks over, looking much better, and hands over a bag of 50gp. "As promised, for getting me here safely." He beckons you through to a small office room, and takes a seat. "I am very worried for Gundren's safety. You know the location of Cragmaw Castle...would you be so kind as to rescue my friend? I cannot help myself, but I can offer 500gp for his return." He sighs, "I did not want to mention it in front of the goblins, but Gundren believes he has found the Wave Echo Cave...do you know what this is? It is an ancient mine, over 500 years old, that had untold mineral wealth, especially one chamber known as Wave Echo Cave. There was a pact between dwarves and gnomes, the Phandelver's Pact, to share the riches. And..." he looks to Tygron, "there was a magical forge, the Forge of Spells, that could craft magic items. What a place! Anyway, such wealth and power eventually attracted unwanted attention. Orcs and goblins attacked the area, and the battle destroyed much of what was there, and the location of the mine was lost. Of course, there have been untold amounts of people looking for it, and along comes Gundren.... he thinks he's found it. We, the Lord's Alliance, believe reopening the mine will bring good to the region...and so here we are..."
((A lot of info there, happy if you want to ask Elsa or Elmar Barthen anything))
Tygron’s eyes light up at the mention of the ancient mine and the forge. He says “I’ve heard tales of that place. Didn’t even know it were nearby here. Love ta just see it once, maybe see what the forge can do if it can be fired up still”
at the Lionshield Coster, Tygron will mention “we kilt some goblins whot were attacking travelers on the road- there’s a cave back there with some o’ yer stuff methinks- I think it had yer symbol on I it- ye can just send someone over to pick it up. Maybe that’s worth a discount? ”
We will sell the excess gear and items there, weapons, teeth, frog etc and see what we get for them. Tygron will point out the virtues of the golden frog, and also remind the proprietor that we solved their goblin issue and their stuff is just waiting for them- to attempt to get us a better price. (He will use the “Help” Action and also guidance (+1d4) on persuasion checks to sell high and buy low.)
based on all that -we will determine what we can afford- Tygron will reluctantly sell his personally crafted chain (all Mended overnight with mending cantrip) for some splint mail if we have enough gold after the others buy what they need. (he will get the best price he can for “genuine Blackhammer dwarf -forged chain” and grumble about whatever price he gets.)
Edit- we also have 600 copper and 200 silver from the chest (and the chest itself if worth anything, with a key!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ryn: Ryn makes another attempt at a smile as he thanks Elsa for his breakfast. He keeps his eyes peeled under the brim of his hat as the group make their way to the Town Hall.
He listens quietly as the situation is explain. He quickly realizes their need for better gear, saying to Sildar, "A dangerous task, sieging a castle likely full of Bugbears and Goblins and the God's know what else. How about half the gold up front, so we can better equip ourselves? We saved your life, so you know we're good for it."
Persuasion: 17
(OOC: Had to take a shot. Maybe someone else can be more convincing? That 250GP would be enough for the Splint and the Studded Leather.)

18 persuasion with advantage..
“What Ryn be tryna say is we be needin some coin to prepare to rescue Gundren. Ye have me word we will get yer friend back or die tryin. Ye could help our success in this venture by helping equip us- mayhap we could have some gold up front to buy some better armor ?”

Opposite the Townhall, but still on the square is Lionshield Coster (merchant that also stocks weaponry)
Further South is the Phandalin's Miner Exchange (where miners take their finds)
SouthEast of the TownHall is a large farm, Alderleaf Farm.
NorthWest side of town is Daran's Orchard.
There's a trail leading East out of the town, at the end of which is the Sleeping Giant tavern.
TownHall
The townhall is a sturdy building with a pitched wooden roof, and a bell tower towards the back. As you enter you notice a sign saying "REWARD!!!! Orcs near Wyvern Tor. Help needed! Ask the TownMaster within."
You enter the Townhall and notice that the building has a small jail comprising of two cells. Sildar sees you come in and walks over, looking much better, and hands over a bag of 50gp.
N/A
Tygron’s eyes light up at the mention of the ancient mine and the forge.

Persuasion (assuming someone else helps for advantage) and he says a little prayer to get his God’s help:2 total: 12
