At the mention of an ancient lost mine, Teo is near-obsessed with this mission, so he will definitely give a Help action to Ryn and Tygron. “You’ve seen for yourself how capable we are. Front us some of the money to get ourselves properly equipped, and our friend Gundren is as good as home.”

Melaria, as always, comes down from her room a little late. Seeing no one else around, she looks puzzled and asks Elsa if she knows where they went. After being told about the Townhall, she heads there, as she enters she sees Sildar and whoever else might be with him. Milaria looks done up and is wearing her usual gear and equipment. However, anyone in her group looking will notice that she is now sporting something new. On her shoulder is perched a dark purple Pseudodragon. Catching the tailend of the conversation she butts in.
"Woah woah woah, what are we doing? Listen I don't do anything for free, no matter what it is. Sex, killin', rescuin', it don't matter... We get half now."
As she speaks the dragon hops off her shoulder and it would be seen flying up to the rafters to perch.
at the Lionshield Coster, Tygron will mention “we kilt some goblins whot were attacking travelers on the road- there’s a cave back there with some o’ yer stuff methinks- I think it had yer symbol on I it- ye can just send someone over to pick it up. Maybe that’s worth a discount? ”
Lionshield
The proprietor of the Lionshield Coster, Linene, is overjoyed at news of her stock being found. She runs round the counter and gives Tygron a hug, and then says "I'll do you better than a discount, how about 25gp as a reward! Thank you, thank you!"
"Now let's have a look at the other items you got there, I'll give you a gold piece for each of the gold teeth and...ooohhh that's a good looking golden frog....I'll do 40gp for it, but that's my best offer... And it's some studded leather armour you're after? I got some, let's see, call it a swap? Armour for the teeth and the frog and 50gold pieces for finding my stock. Deal?"
Smithy
You also pop into the smithy at Linene's suggestion. He looks over the goblin weapons. "I can't do anything with the shields...the scimitars... They are shit but I can get some metal outta them... Will give you 4gp for them all"
Sildar laughs a little and raises his hands. "Easy there! I am grateful for what you did for me, more than you can imagine, I thought my time was done. But I cannot raise 250 gold... I don't think you would, but you could just disappear into the hills." He looks about the group and then laughs a little again. "Ok, ok. I can forward you 50 gold, but that's it."
He watches the small dragon for a bit. "You ought to be careful who sees that, some people aren't quite so open minded as myself. But... You are right. You don't want to be going to the Cragmaws unprepared. Speak to the townmaster, there are some orcs he was offering a reward to deal with. And I have another matter I am investigating if you are interested? A member of the Lord's Alliance was posted here in Phandalin...but he has gone missing. His name's Iarno Albrek, a small wizard, with a splendid beard. He was seen around that decrepit manor house on the East side of town...if you can help me find him there is substantial reward reward there...the alliance is offering 200 gold as a reward."

Teo casually places his hand over his mouth when he hears about the studded leather armor being offered, and mumbles to Tygron, "Sounds like a good deal to me..."

After Sildar makes his pitch, Teo addresses the rest of the group: "I think finding Gundren and that lost mine is our top priority, and I would hate to deviate from that plan, but we may need to earn some more gold to prepare for such a mission. I am inclined to go after that missing wizard. The task sounds easy enough and the reward is substantial. What say you all?"
Teo gazes up at the purple pseudodragon perched in the rafters. "This group gets more and more fascinating..."
Melaira looks up at her Dragon and let's out a whistle. As she does so, the Dragon flies off the beams and back down to Melaria's shoulder. "Fascinating indeed, I'm not even sure where the Dragon came from. I tried praying to Vlaakith and after not hearing anything, I went to sleep and when I woke up... Boom, there it was, perched on my bedside, waiting for me. I haven't come up with a name yet though... As far as what to do first... I'm thinking we find this Magician so that we can get better geared up."
The little monk has little need for armor or weapons, but tags along anyway. At Barthen's he makes a couple of small purchases - a bag of flour, a little bag of salt - but all in all, is content with what he has. He will accept any apportionment of plunder offered, without comment or complaint about what is being spent on whose equipment. (OOC: Just let me know what his share is once everything's tallied.)
At some point, he'll murmur to Tygron, "We did leave a bugbear and a few goblins at that cave. Is it really safe to send people there to reclaim the rest of the plundered goods?"
When Sildar is pitching the rescue to the party, Indio doesn't even wait for him to finish. "I'm in," he announces unequivocally. It may have weakened the party's bargaining position, but he just shrugs it off. "I owe him," he says simply.
As the party discusses the next step, he does pipe in his opinion. "I am concerned about Gundren. The sooner we rescue him, the better. But..." he frowns thoughtfully as a thought occurs to him. "A wizard may be willing to scry some information for us if we rescue him. It might mean the difference between success and failure."
Tygron accepts the deal offered by Linene (unless someone stops him). His normal grumpiness in financial transactions was thrown off by her display of affection, and the fact that he had, in the end, done exactly what was aligned with his God’s interests, so getting a financial award out of it was a bonus. . (He does warn her there are some wolves about but they should be pretty well fed as long as she sends someone soon. He also asks if she has splint mail.
he agrees with the others that rescuing the wizard sounds like a good idea, and he thinks Grunden will be ok for a bit, “ees a dwarf after all, they won’t kill em unless he gives up what he knows- and ee won’t give up what ee knows even if they kill em. Stalemate could last years! hah!. But we’ll get em soon enough I reckon.. Naw- I agree we should make sure we’re good-n-ready afore stormin a castle. This wizard search and mayhap even these Orcs they have trouble wit might be worth a bit o’ our time.”
at the smithy he begrudgingly takes what we can get for the goblin gear steel value. He also asks if the smith has any splint mail.
((I’ll post in a bit what we have for money once all is done. But Teo gets the studded leather, and we all will get some money. Anyone need anything else? ))
((At some point, he'll murmur to Tygron, "We did leave a bugbear and a few goblins at that cave. Is it really safe to send people there to reclaim the rest of the plundered goods?"))
Tygron gets a little uncomfortable expression on his face but then carefully replies. “Well Indio, klarg the Bugbear, he no longer livin there, he be headed up north, as Ryn told him to. Ryn checked to make sure when we be headin back, I gave Ryn a little prayer afore he go to help him stay sneaky that’s how I knows. The goblins... er... won’t be a problem no more, after Klarg said bye to em.“. (here he gets more uncomfortable, but quickly continues)
“ I warned her about the wolves, but I expect them wolves will eat well fer a bit, so should be happy enough.”
to Melaria on the dragon topic he just says “Me Girl yer full o’ surprises. Nice pet ye gots. I heard tell o this kind o creature, even saw one once, but ain’t never seen a purple one.. Welcome to our crew, ya wee little dragon... “
((Ok my calculations are we have 187 gold total that (after cashing in a lot of silver and copper).
so that’s 37 gold and 4 silver for each of you, (not counting the 10 gold at the beginning). Plus we got the studded leather. And two of you have potions of healing- make sure that is on your sheets.
I think I did this right. They really need a party loot log in here. I suggest we divide loot immediately on acquiring- it’s a pain scrolling back through. ))
Teo gratefully accepts the suit of armor from Tygron, "Thank you, friends. I've noticed you all like to jump right into the middle of things, so this armor should give me a little extra incentive to join you every so often."
Teo dons the armor and gives the straps a quick tug, making sure it fits properly. "So, due East towards the manor, then?"

Ryn: A simple man of simple means, Ryn has never been one to lust after gold. He offers up his portion of the reward, saying, "My father's old Griffon Cavalry cuirass is all I need. Take this and prepare yourselves."
As they are about to begin east, Ryn looks up at the manor and says, "If there is something up there that took down a mage... maybe we shouldn't just walk right up the road to the place?"
Ryn raises his eyes, doing a quick survey of the terrain, looking for the best avenue of approach to the Manor while remaining undetected.

Melaria clicks her tongue and nods her head in the direction of the sky. With that, the Dragon hops off her shoulder and soars into the air, staying within 100ft of her and scouts the area, looking for any signs that something might not be right. While her Dragon does this, Melaria stands still and her eyes get covered in a purple haze. ((She will also be deaf and won't respond when spoken to.))
As they travel, Teo asks his party to show him where they stow their healing potions. He practices retrieving the potions from a distance with his invisible Mage Hand and floating them to other party members.
“Just a little trick I’m working on. Could be useful in a pinch.”
Indio has a couple of pouches on his belt now, and one holds the healing potion he carries. "Feel free to practice, my friend," he says amiably. "Just mind which pouch you pick!"
He looks up at the manor on the hill. "Perhaps we should ask around, see what the local gossip is about that place. Perhaps the...'gentlemen' at the Sleeping Giant can clue us in about what lies further east. Someone around here must know something."
