Ryn: Stepping forward shaking his head, Ryn says quietly, "They all still live, but perhaps the creature will take the word of an experienced hunter?"
Ryn attempts to think -at- the darkness, saying, "If you can read minds, then you know I can track any animal your heart may desire, but you must give us something first to prove your goood faith. Tell us of what you know of these Redbrands and their leader, Glasstaff. What dangers await us in this place?"

For Ryn;
You feel something in your mind, poking it's way around. "You ask what I desire. Meat. Fresh meat. And information. What secrets do you know? I owe you nothing. Nothinggggg"
Ryn: Ryn chuckles to himself as he converses with a voice in his head.
"When you wander this wide world alone, your entire life is a secret. Will you allow us passage on my promise to return with a fresh kill? Or would you like to learn for yourself the secrets my father taught me?"
Ryn imagines exactly what he's prepared to do should this thing stand in their way. It isn't pleasant.

Teo stares from Melaria to Ryn to Indio, awaiting some clear instructions. As Ryn chuckles to himself, Teo slowly backs away and confides in Tygron: "Our compatriots may have already been compromised by this creature. I've seen such glamours before, and a swift slap across the face is usually enough to free the thrall. Be alert!"
Bow at the ready, he retreats back into the passage to gain some cover from the unknown threat.
Melaria, trusting Apple's instincts will march ahead, crossing over the bridges, treading carefully so that she doesn't fall off the edge or cause part of the bridge to break.
((IF she makes it across.))
Melaria approaches Apple slowly, mentally asking him to point her in the direction of the creature. She'll then turn in that direction to see if she can see the creature.
Ryn: Ryn chuckles to himself as he converses with a voice in his head.
The party can hear noises of scraping on rock as something moves at the far end of the room.
For Ryn;
Yessssss, fresh meat, to quell my hunger, fresshhhh. I am not your enemy. I can see you seek Gundren.... and something else...what is a wave echo? Wait....what is this...one of you comes closer?

Melaria approaches Apple slowly, mentally asking him to point her in the direction of the creature. She'll then turn in that direction to see if she can see the creature.
Melaria makes her way to the most southern bridge and begins to cross, as her weight is fully supported by the bridge there is a horrible sound of rope being pulled free and the clattering of timber. Melaria falls with the bridge taking 104 bludgeoning damage. ((Apple was too light to set off the trap))
From the bottom of the pit you see gnawed on bones scattered about and the half eaten remains of a human male. As she looks north she sees a chest under the northern bridge.
to the voice in his head he says “NO- she don’t want any of your meat. She fell into that pit cause the bridge were trapped. Ye want’s meat I got some good pork jerky right ‘ere for ya, or you can wait until Ryn gets ya something more fresh. We’re gonna Help her out of that pit. Don’t hurt her. “
Tygron curses about the bridge going out, and looks down to ensure Melaria is OK.

The voice says "Fresh meat, none of that rotten filth you have. I won't hurt her, unless she tries to take my things...."
As you are communicating you catch a glimpse of a single, green eye, watching the party and over the edge into the crevasse watching Melaria.
Tygron calls down (not too loudly, to avoid alerting anyone that doesn’t know we are here) to Melaria: “you ok me girl ? The creature only wants fresh meat, come on up and we can gets it some”.
The fleetfooted monk dashes to the side of the crevasse, rope already in hand. It's not as deep as he had feared, but he does what he can to help Melaria out. "I'd rather not the fresh meat be tiefling," he comments wryly. "The creature is rather possessive. I'm not sure what's down there, but let's leave it to its owner." His eyes narrow. "Unless some sort of deal can be made,"he adds, projecting both his voice and his words.
Teo watches from the corridor, mouth agape at what’s transpiring. To him, it appears as if his party has slightly lost their minds. As Melaria plunges into the crevasse, Teo moves forward to assist in her rescue.
Seeing Indio take the lead with Melaria’s rescue, Teo takes this opportunity to leap over a narrow part of the canyon (can do 10ft) to get a better view of what lurks behind the column.
Ryn: Ryn quickly holsters his spear and unhoods his lantern as he makes his way toward the crevasse. Relieved to find Melaria alright, Ryn turns towards the creature and is shocked by its grotesque appearance. He catches glimpses of Apple and Teo from either corner of his eyes and prepares himself for the inevitable.

The creatures communicates with you all. You hear a long exhale of breath in your mind..."Get your friend, I will not stop you...you...you all...intrigue me, for now. Glass-staff has started to bore me, and his little fledglings even more so. The hunter...I can see you weren't lying...you can hunt...if you bring me a fressssssshhhhh *clatter of teeth* kill perhaps we can talk further. An animal...or one of the stupid humans you have trapped here...I can see your secrets...so easy...or one of the other's that have claimed this place as theirs. I have.....information on this place....and on your friend Gundren....bring me food and then perhaps you can help clear this place of the current rotten inhabitants in exchange for information."
"Take that passage to the South if you wish to leave quickly and quietly....this place...it's been used to smuggle slaves out of Phandalin...what did you think was to become of those three you rescued...*chattering of teeth*...and take that little dragon away from me before I eat it..."
The creature then slinks back into the darkness at the northern end of the cave ( 18 ) - you can still make out it's form as it hunkers at the back, watching the group.
Every now and then you feel a lapse in concentration as the creature once again looks into your thoughts for a moment.

Investigation 18
From where Indio is standing, the other side of the crevasse, there is a large column in front of him that would easily block line of sight to where the creature currently is. There is also a passageway to his West, with a set of stairs descending down.

Melaria looks back to the others. "According to Apple, the creature doesn't look hostile, but does look hungry. Still might want to keep an eye out."

he readies an action to Sacred flame the creature if it moves to attack.
