Previous Round End Scene Summary
The smell of bacon permeates the air. Two boars whee and squee with fancy feet to avoid the glitter bomb. However, the blanket of successful sparkles settles on three of the bulkiest boars (ATx3).
Still holding her wand firmly in one hand, instead of it's potential to crumble into dust, it surges with reserve power answering her desire to defend Nova at all costs. Fae sidesteps her attacking boar, using her cape as a distraction.
(Expending all charges of her wand, I forgot to roll the 1d20 to see if it crumbles to dust. I rolled it in game log and got a Nat 20. I thought that since there's a consequence for a Nat 1, why not a little something for a Nat 20, and will apply this across all rechargeable items. Thus, I rolled a 1d6 for a random recharge and got a 5, for 5 charges.)
Nova manages to fend off one of the aggressive beasts on her tail, but not the other. "Owwie!" She whimpers as it gets passed her improvised pumpkin shield and gets a tusk to the hip.

In her barrage of missiles, Fae picks off the last two common boars and unloaded the rest into the two on Nova. They may seem like boars, but they were incredibly hearty and nothing to sneeze at. They looked barely knocked down a peg.

The gourds explode, sending pumpkin guts flying in all directions and sending seeds raining down.

The aggressive hogs were actually not that ugly compared to these horrid visages - in fact Hansel was sure he'd never seen a more ugly creature in his life... these pig-men made even the banshee seem like the belle of the ball. Blotting as much of the sight as possible with his intervening shield, he continues to batter them with the power of the Lady of Love.

(Hal and KD have the same modifier for CON saves so I rolled on the sheet/log, and Hall rolled a 19+4=23!)
KD turns to the hogman who tried to thundersmoosh her monkey and glares at it. Her bolt thrower fires, aiming right between the eyes. "Leave my monkey alone!"
Attack: 17 Damage: 10
She tries again to keep herself just out of harm's reach, but not too far.
Hal gets blasted but ducks, eyes squeezed shut and though when he looks around after the thunder subsides and he is covered in pumkin guts and seeds, he pauses, looks down at himself, and pats himself, finding no damage. He looks up at the offending hogman and clanks his own claw hands together and roars. When he was a tiny monkey, his roars were high-pitched and cute, but he's starting to find some depth as he grows, so it actually has a bit of the effect he intends, instead of being funny. He rends the closest hog/hogman (unsure if the one nearest him is FFed, so will roll a separate attack to make it easier for you!). He keeps his reaction ready to help defend an ally.

Covered in pumpkin guts, Nova steps over the boars, licking her fingers as she does, to go stand with Fae. "I might puke if I eat more..." She comments, rubbing her belly with her other hand. Looking her over, Hansel would come to notice both Fae and Nova are well. Fae dips her head to the cleric in thanks.
"It appears we have eliminated all of them from this location." Fae notes as Hansel confirms this with some beating of his club through the bushes. Then her violet eyes turn to Auric. "I believe this is an example of what we can expect when we reach the Circle of Thunder." Then her attention turns up to the sun in the sky before looking back to the dragonborn who was originally leading the way. "If there's nothing more here for us, shall we continue?"
KD checks on Hal and ensures he is healed up. She looks around, missing Onu’s feedback and presence once again, but moving to Nova and the others and offering to cure anyone’s wounds if they like. She is ready to move along if others are…

As the five adventurers and trusty steel defender trudge through the dense, shadowy depths of the Neverwinter Wood for what feels like a whole week, the overcast sky casts a pall over the ancient trees, muffling the usual sounds of nature with a sense of foreboding. Their footfalls echo softly amidst the underbrush, their senses heightened as they navigate the eerie wilderness.
Suddenly, the forest parts before them, revealing a vast clearing shrouded in an unsettling stillness. At its heart stands a grotesque monument—a black, charred spire reaching skyward like a skeletal finger, the remains of a once majestic pine tree. Its towering form, stripped of branches and foliage, looms ominously over the desolate landscape.
Bound to the dead tree's base are several ghastly dolls, their twisted forms fashioned from twisted twigs and bound with dark, wiry hair. Their vacant eyes seem to follow the adventurers' every move, imbuing the clearing with an aura of malevolence.
(OOC: There's also a reason for my stalling as I'm attempting to write in additional companions to join us to help liven up the thread between my post availability. This one's been a bit trickier than the other thread. So thank you for bearing with me.)
As the party takes in the unsettling sight, they notice a lone figure (Nepharios) cleaning up camp on the outskirts of the clearing to the north, his silhouette outlined against the gloomy backdrop. Meanwhile, another figure (Verr'iden) lurks in the shadows to the west, concealed from view but no doubt observing.

I am once again flying by the seat of my pants, so please it'd be a big help to work with me on filling in any gaps. I know it often makes more sense to assume hostile targets, but please give each other's characters the benefit of the doubt in terms of we are all here for the same goal (Short term: Circle of Thunder and Long term: the White Dragon Cryovain). I don't expect you all IC to trust each other immediately, but I do trust you all to come together for a common goal and a great story :) I will threaten a get along shirt if I have too! lol In all seriousness, I appreciate you all as players who keep me in this.)

For transparency sake, there are potential encounters en route while traveling to the Circle, thus I've used the first one to gather you all together, and bolded the prompt to make it easy/clear for you all. How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
(Hal and KD have the same modifier for CON saves so I rolled on the sheet/log, and Hall rolled a 19+4=23!)
KD turns to the hogman who tried to thundersmoosh her monkey and glares at it. Her bolt thrower fires, aiming right between the eyes. "Leave my monkey alone!"
Attack: 17 Damage: 10
She tries again to keep herself just out of harm's reach, but not too far.
Hal gets blasted but ducks, eyes squeezed shut and though when he looks around after the thunder subsides and he is covered in pumkin guts and seeds, he pauses, looks down at himself, and pats himself, finding no damage. He looks up at the offending hogman and clanks his own claw hands together and roars. When he was a tiny monkey, his roars were high-pitched and cute, but he's starting to find some depth as he grows, so it actually has a bit of the effect he intends, instead of being funny. He rends the closest hog/hogman (unsure if the one nearest him is FFed, so will roll a separate attack to make it easier for you!). He keeps his reaction ready to help defend an ally.

Hansel doesn't know what 'odiferous' means, but he agrees with Auril anyway. The cleric checks on everyone, casting healing spells to any injured party members, then goes around the pumpkin patch, beating wildly with his club in case any more pigs are lying in wait.

Covered in pumpkin guts, Nova steps over the boars, licking her fingers as she does, to go stand with Fae. "I might puke if I eat more..." She comments, rubbing her belly with her other hand. Looking her over, Hansel would come to notice both Fae and Nova are well. Fae dips her head to the cleric in thanks.
"It appears we have eliminated all of them from this location." Fae notes as Hansel confirms this with some beating of his club through the bushes. Then her violet eyes turn to Auric. "I believe this is an example of what we can expect when we reach the Circle of Thunder." Then her attention turns up to the sun in the sky before looking back to the dragonborn who was originally leading the way. "If there's nothing more here for us, shall we continue?"

KD checks on Hal and ensures he is healed up. She looks around, missing Onu’s feedback and presence once again, but moving to Nova and the others and offering to cure anyone’s wounds if they like. She is ready to move along if others are…

(OOC: Apologies once more for my delay this week. It was a busy and painful one, but I'm on the mend! )
As the five adventurers and trusty steel defender trudge through the dense, shadowy depths of the Neverwinter Wood for what feels like a whole week, the overcast sky casts a pall over the ancient trees, muffling the usual sounds of nature with a sense of foreboding. Their footfalls echo softly amidst the underbrush, their senses heightened as they navigate the eerie wilderness.
Suddenly, the forest parts before them, revealing a vast clearing shrouded in an unsettling stillness. At its heart stands a grotesque monument—a black, charred spire reaching skyward like a skeletal finger, the remains of a once majestic pine tree. Its towering form, stripped of branches and foliage, looms ominously over the desolate landscape.
Bound to the dead tree's base are several ghastly dolls, their twisted forms fashioned from twisted twigs and bound with dark, wiry hair. Their vacant eyes seem to follow the adventurers' every move, imbuing the clearing with an aura of malevolence.
(OOC: There's also a reason for my stalling as I'm attempting to write in additional companions to join us to help liven up the thread between my post availability. This one's been a bit trickier than the other thread. So thank you for bearing with me.)
As the party takes in the unsettling sight, they notice a lone figure (Nepharios) cleaning up camp on the outskirts of the clearing to the north, his silhouette outlined against the gloomy backdrop. Meanwhile, another figure (Verr'iden) lurks in the shadows to the west, concealed from view but no doubt observing.
(OOC: Zorg, Scott & RK, please once again welcome (back) Someredshirt (as Verr'iden) and Oberon (Nepharios) to our ranks. I am once again flying by the seat of my pants, so please it'd be a big help to work with me on filling in any gaps. I know it often makes more sense to assume hostile targets, but please give each other's characters the benefit of the doubt in terms of we are all here for the same goal (Short term: Circle of Thunder and Long term: the White Dragon Cryovain). I don't expect you all IC to trust each other immediately, but I do trust you all to come together for a common goal and a great story :) I will threaten a get along shirt if I have too! lol In all seriousness, I appreciate you all as players who keep me in this.)
Introduction Time!
(So without further a do, let's take some time here to RP some introductions and descriptions. For transparency sake, there are potential encounters en route while traveling to the Circle, thus I've used the first one to gather you all together, and bolded the prompt to make it easy/clear for you all. I imagine that Nepharios arrived last night, made camp to observe. Verr'iden stumbled upon the clearing at the crack of dawn and has been observing, and the group of Fae (ixi), Nova(ixi), Auric(Scott), Hansel(Zorg), KD and Hal(RK) just arrive. We will assume that Hammish, Onu, Xeno and Stacey all remain behind to continue working on repairing the Manse as your home base.)
