Across the river on the other side, Lilly gets a clear view of the path Demetros pointed out. It winds 30ft up to the North Eastern entrance Onu indicated. Without skipping a beat from her success, she continues up part of path. It was plenty safe!
A light glow emanates from the entrance. Peering through the opening, there was already a fork in the road. Continue forward towards the East, or take a left turn to the North. They could see this clearly because there were hanging oil lanterns attached to rope-and-pulley mechanisms! From here, they could also report that the ceilings are actually quite high(7ft!) and flat. Nothing but the sound of the waterfall could be heard echoing through the open corridor.

Onu follows the excited Halfling as she skips across the river and heads up towards the North-Eastern entrance. As he reaches the entrance and sees the 7ft ceiling he speaks to Lily in a low voice 'These ceilings seem mighty high for gnomes don't they..' He peers inside and spots the strange lantern rigs. 'you ever seen anything like that before?'

Hoping to Help Lily or someone on an investigation check
Watching the others cross the water Artemis becomes determined to keep up, not allowing age to set him back. He isn't too proud to use his quarterstaff as a third point of balance, however, when crossing the wet rocks.
Before crossing over the stream himself, Demetrios ensures everyone's safe passage across first and foremost. If/When everyone had made it across safely, he would make his way over carefully, mindful of his steps.

The place clearly exected visitors - tall visitors. "Hello?" announced Lilly group's presence and only then thought about caution. She covered her mouth and a moment later asked the others with a dramatic whisper "Where do you think we should go?"She looked at the ground - maybe one path looks like it was used more often? If so, Lilly would suggest using that one, if not - the one that leads inside the mountain. The gnomes should be there, right?
With some hops, skips and a jump, the group makes it through the stream and up the path behind Lilly without so much as a few splashes.
Peeking from behind the brave halfling, Onu's passive investigating of the it easy for the gnomes to lower the lanterns rope-and-pulley mechanisms are to make them easy to repair and refill with oil. The red hue of the lanterns oil suspiciously reminded you of the same colour of one of the mushrooms outside.
Lilly's eyes have no problems adjusting to the area and she starts concentrating on which direction to take. In her focus, she looks around for evidence of more floor wear and even the slightest change in width in a hallway to show more passage. As if she could survive and thrive here like one of them, the halfling would easily be able to direct the group towards the northern route.
Should you continue forward, the group would be led into a room that contains several dining tables and chairs sized for Small folk. A stout wooden cabinet against the east wall holds tin dishware and utensils. It appears nobody's here either, but there is another opening to the north.
North?
Peering through the northern opening would reveal another corridor with a decision to take a right to the east, or continue north to a door.
Lilly's tracking would reveal that continuing north was the favoured and most recently traversed path.
Demetrios trusted Lilly's survival and tracking skills enough to not do some of his own, though if she needed assistance during their journey forward, he would let his aid be known to her. Cognac hues looked over the dining tables throughout the area. "Well, at least it looks like some people have been here..."Demetrios comments. He looks over the others then to where the halfling had been poking her nose, approaching the area himself to peer down the corridor. "Hmm... Interesting. Where should we go, Miss Lilly?"

Onu let's the nimble halfling lead the way, trailing far enough behind her not to get caught in any traps they might set off but still close enough to move to her aid if something untoward happens.
As the party reaches the fork with the door to the North and the less traveled path to the east, the monk nods towards the right, puts a finger to his lips and slips off down the open hallway to scout ahead a bit before the group commits to a direction.
Onu Stealth: 18 Investigation for traps: 12 Perception for down the hall: 19
"There!" Lilly pointed towards the north path. "At least some people went there recently if I am not mistaken (that I could, of course). It also looks like people go this way more often. Ever noticed in tho houses? Even on the hardfloor - you will see eventually sort of "paths"." "Well, after a really long time."She remembered again the need to stay quiet and just pointed north. Then nodded to Onu, who obviously did not want to leave without checking, and curiously went by the bitten path to the north.
with Lilly’s acknowledgement, Onu silently slips away down the east with ease. The sound of the rushing waterfall echoeing through the hallways drown out any other sound, but it definitely doesn’t hinder his sight. As the monk continued down the path, he’d follow it rounding a turn towards the south and just as the corridor straightens out to continue south, there’s also an opening to his left (east). There were no traps or living beings to be discovered on his scout thus far.
Meanwhile Lilly continues the path north to the door. Should she place her ear to the door and strain her hearing, she thinks she may hear some rustling. It’s hard to tell with sound of rushing water being a constant, but all signs point to this area being commonplace for the local folk.
The door wasn't locked. Lilly was able to open it just as if she were comfortably walking into one's home(G4). And it was pretty much just that. The halfling found the kitchen! Which made sense considering they just came from the dining room. Everything in this room is either close to the floor or readily reachable by tugging on overly complicated rope-and-pulley mechanisms. The space was obviously furnished with small folk in mind, and there were some here! Five rock gnome recluses busying themselves.
A woman is using a poker to stoke the fire of a hot iron stone against the east wall. Then there was a man using a complicated press-like contraption to squeeze oil out of a big red mushroom, then filter it into some oil flasks. Another gnome stands atop a low table using a mechanical rolling pin contraption that looks to be kneading green bread dough. The severed caps of several big green mushrooms are set neatly around her. Beside her, someone is concentrating hard with their tongue sticking out of their mouth as they carefully shape each dough into loaves of green bread like a master sculptor. The last gnome teeters on a stool as she stuffs a big purple mushroom into a barrel. The smell that permeates from that direction could only mean that it must be preparing to be fermented into wine!
KD’s eyes are wide open as she sees the contraptions, and she cannot stop herself from walking forward and beginning a series of questions that are not immediately understood to be Common. There are generous helpings of compliments strewn in as well.
Lilly stopped at the entrance inhaling the divine aroma of a kitchen in the middle of the cooking hours. Oh, and look at this state-of-the-art culinary setup! If that is not a true gourmet kitchen, then what is? She felt like crying for a moment - both from nostalgia and admiration - but unfortunately, they were here on business. Lilly took another deep breath (delicious! simply delicious!) and stepped inside.
"Hello?" She raised her voice to be heard over the noises "Excuse me, can we talk with someone about the dragon hunt?" It was not, probably, the most appropriate question in the kitchen, but on the other hand... hunt? Close enough.
The group of gnomes were much too dedicated to their tasks to notice KD or any of the others right away. Although the sound of the rushing water entered the room for some time, it dampened when the door closed behind them. The artificer's rambling questions and compliments were heard, but only encouraged their focus. They were showing you the answers to your questions as they went rather than responding.
When Lilly spoke up in clear common, it was enough to stir their concentration. Eyes would peek up, but hands continue their tasks without skipping a step. It wasn't until she said 'dragon hunt' when the one gnome's teetering stool wobbled further with a beat of concern. "Oh my!" The gentlest of giggles came from the small being, catching herself and continuing her task as if it were the halfling's words that nudged her off balance. She'd finish securing the wine barrel before wiping her hands over her dress. "Have Dragon Hunter's truly stumbled into our cave today?" The woman would turn to finally address the group, her fingertips would then find each other as she'd hold her hands in front of her. "Oh my dear." You'd be greeted by the warmest of faces that could accompany a joyful rock gnome. "She comes with hair like flame and bravery to match." She'd say looking over the halfling. Maybe even rival that of a dragons.Crows feat dance through her excited expression, resting amongst a genuine smile. Her eyes would flick to the others about the room. "And she brings tall ones to boot!" She tosses her hands out as she chuckles in delight of her own sense of a joke. "I'm Joybell!" Her stool would shimmy a little in her boisterous motion. "Whoop!" There was a little chuckle that followed, then she'd start pointing out the others that accompany her in the room.

Rock Gnomes
Rock gnomes are typically between 3 to 3½ ft (0.91‒1.1 m) tall and weighed anywhere from 40 to 45 lb (18‒20 kg). They possessed a natural brownish tint to their skin; the presence or absence of light had little effect upon it. Young rock gnomes possessed any of a large number of hair colors that faded to gray or white upon reaching adulthood. Male gnomes typically kept beards groomed in a neat manner.
Joybell (J) (Your 'Hostess' and Master Brewer)
"Turvaround's our designated Poker Stoker!" Joy points to the rockgnome standing in the corner with the iron stove. "She may have enjoyed my secret shroomshine a little too much..." She adds lowly.
Turvaround (T) (Dedicated Poker Stoker)
"Our fluid Master Sculptor Uppendown working hard over there." She'd motion to the gnome carefully shaping, "They loaf it!" Joybell would bob her brow.
Uppendown (U) (Master Loaf Sculptor)
"Panana here kneeds to get things rolling first, dough." There was no shame in her snorts that followed, trying to keep her composure as she'd point out Panana with the rolling pin contraption.
Panana (P) (Dough Roller and Kneeder)
Dabbing the corner of her eyes as she gathers her composure, she'd soon motion to the gnome meticulously handling the red oil. "Then we have Dimble, who must be nimble." She'd wink before clapping her hands together with excitement. He didn't even blink.
Dimble (D) (Alchemist)
"Your turn! And what may I call you?" Joybell would hop down from her stool, looking at you with expectation. She'd pause just long enough to hear resemblances of your names, nodding along the whole time. "Yes, yes." Then she'd grab her stool with one hand and start dragging it with her to the next barrel. "As you can tell, I'm the chatter box." Joy would bat her eyes. "We are simply kitchen staff, but perhaps I may be able to shine some light on the subject, eh?" She'd grin, finally plopping her stool in place before she'd look to wrangle her next mushroom.
Onu would turn on his smile and chuckle along with the lovely gnome 'Well met, well met all! This is quite the operation you have running here! Very impressive, very impressive! Have you set this all up yourselves? You'll forgive me for asking, but the ceilings feel a bit high for folks of your stature.'
Demetrios blinked in surprise when he saw the kitchen and its staff working so diligently, without even so much of a glance their way, up until Lilly piped up and managed to grab one of the gnome's attention. The paladin would be the one to enter the room last, taking a good look around the area as their hostess began giving out the names of the others in the room. He would give them all respectful nods in their direction with each introduction.
His attention then goes to Onu when he speaks up, giving a light chuckle to his words. "It is a good thing they're high though..."He comments sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. It would have been extremely uncomfortable for him to navigate through the tunnels had they been low. Curse his creator for making him stupidly tall tall stature!
The aasimar then clears his throat. "Thank you for the warm welcome, Miss Joybell." He gives her a deep bow. "We are... Hm... We haven't exactly found a name for our group yet, but I am Demetrios. A pleasure to meet all of you. We were hoping to speak to someone who specialized in... em, inventions? Specifically something to aid in taking down the dragon that's been plaguing the lands as of late."

Lilly would not claim bravery (not out loud at least) but the compliment to her hair lightened her face like a true fire. She soaked in the names and general traits of everyone introduced like a sponge (professional habit) and happily introduced herself (and everyone else who did not shout the name in time). The only thing that stopped her from immediately joining every station asking myriads questions was Demetrios polite and well-delivered speech, and reminding of the problem they were here to solve. She forced herself to be quiet. At least for some time.
