Durnham relaxes after that activity and smiles at the group. “Whew, that was unexpected. Is everyone ok?”
Archimedes flaps down to his shoulder at a thought from the wizard. He then approaches the creatures and investigates them. He’s looking for anything useful but also trying to determine what or who they are. Looking at and within their robes to see if he can learn anything about who these things once were.
Brandon pokes the body on the ground in front of him with the point of his sword as Durnham moves about searching the others. “What kind of magic or curse do you think kept their bodies in this state?”
Brandon scans the doors lining the hallway, then turns his attention to the door to the north “Should we just clear all the rooms? Make sure we don’t have any surprises coming at us from behind.” He inspects the door closely (door 1) looking for any markings or symbols, remembering the runes marking the chests in the other room, and any indications of traps or locks. Investigation: 6.
Durnham inspects the undead corpses and determines that their robes are Aeorian in origin. The creatures themselves seem well preserved, either by the cold or the magic that sustained them, and are human-looking.
Brandon finds nothing remarkable about door 1, and Ressys inspects all the doors but finds no markings or writing. As he turns away from door 1 he hears a scrape from inside, like someone knocking a wooden chair on a stone floor.
“Does anyone know anything about clothing or fashion? These robes would have to be rare… are they in good condition? They could be priceless in the study of Aeorian culture.”

Qidira, in the back of the group, waves Orvo into the corridor. "You're more likely to get into trouble out there than in here with us." Then listens at the door she's closest to.
As he hears the noise Ressys alerts the others. "Something made a noise behind this door. I see no markings or writing on any. It is best we deal with what is here first then allow it to come behind us if we pass it by. Let us move into position and open this door first."
Ressys will wait a moment and when the others have moved closer, if they agree this is the best course of action, he will then try and open the door.
Durnham moves along the corridor, eyes roaming up and down the hall as he continues detecting magic. “Hold a moment, let me check for more of those magical traps.” He looks at each doorway and lock briefly as well as the floors and walls, intent on finding any traces of magic while the ritual still holds.
If he finds nothing he will wave them to the door where the noise was heard and get behind the others, hoping he can at least see whatever is in there to be able to cast at it.
Qidira moves in behind the others making sure she has all of her daggers moving swiftly to retrieve them if she doesn't and readies herself for an attack as they open the door.
“Tis but a scratch.” He answered to Durnham, while retrieving the silvered maul.“And I agree with Brandon on clearing the area.”
No one seemed to oppose the idea and Ressys even voiced his agreement. The wizard kept looking for writing while the fighter pondered if he should keep using the glaive. It was unlikely to work well against any construct that appeared, and the corridor seemed to be just large enough to wield the polearm. A coincidence that might not happen behind the doors in along their way. But then there was the matter of reach and he could always drop the glaive to pull the hammer. Worked well enough the other way around. Before he decided, Durnham mentioned the clothes.
“Even damaged they would be rare relics, likely to sell for a good price. I think.”At least everyone seemed to be willing to pay good coin for anything Aeorian. Then the druid mentioned hearing something. Kotar decided to put away the glaive and strap the shield back on his left arm. “Let me take the front.”He said unsheathing the sword. “If there is no trap, I will kick the door down. You guys ready your action to attack, rain death on whatever is on the other side.”
Durnham sees no sign of magic on any door. With the door (1) declared clear, Kotar swings it open.
Inside, footlockers are tucked beneath four beds attached to the north and south walls. In the middle of the room, four zombies in tattered robes shuffle around, softly knocking into one another without caring. The door has swung so quietly that They have not yet seen you, and are currently all facing away (but moving)

Reassured by his friends that door was not trapped, Kotar opened it far less aggressively than he thought necessary. He was not surprised to find undead inside of the place, but rather with the fact that not of them seemed to have taken notice of the group’s approach. His hand went instinctively to the sword handle, and he readied himself to advance and attack at the first sign of recognition coming from the exanimate.
The fighter allowed himself a moment to glance back at his companions, as if asking if they should strike. He had spoke to them about raining death over the enemies. Now the idea seemed very much like a possibility. As far as the goliath could tell it was almost a certainty that they would bring one of the zombies down before a true fight started. Maybe they could even defeat a second one. Chances were that good if they moved then. I just hope nothing appeared to pincer us against the room. He thought as the notion of the animated armors crossed his mind yet again. That would be specially troublesome, considering he hadn’t the maul at hand and taking off the shield would demand far too much time to be done amidst the heat of battle.
Notes: Kotar takes the Ready action to prepare an attack with the longsword. The trigger being any of the undead noticing the group's presence.
Qidira, keeping sight of their surroundings, especially for Orvo's safety as she brings up the rear of the group. If she is not able to attack the undead within the room due to lack of line of sight, she will watch their back for other dangers ready to alert and attack.
Crossbow attack - if able on a target within the room. If not readied for any enemies that may appear outside of it. Trigger is either line of sight within or approaching enemy without - which every should occur first. Attack: 17 Damage: 9
(So far it seems the plan is to ready attacks and work out a group plan. Please roll initiative just in case, but I am not initiating combat until someone declares an attack or the zombies notice you)
Brandon’s eyes flare with anger as he sees the undead in the room in front of them “More of the vile creatures? What about this place has cheated them from the natural passage of death? They must be destroyed” Without a second thought, he bursts into the room and attacks the undead closest to the door, attempting to get a strike in before they notice the party. He brings his longsword in a downward slash, aiming for the shoulder of the creature.
Durnham relaxes after that activity and smiles at the group. “Whew, that was unexpected. Is everyone ok?”

Ressys aready has another flame in his hand after throwing the last one. He relaxes as the flame downs the creature and the hallway grows quieter.
"Agreed Brandon. We might as well check the doors as we go along. Any door might hold what we look for."
He then starts looking at the doors to see if there are any marks or signage.
