"It looks to me like we could hug the wall and use the fallen stones as foot steps and get around this last wall. The creature in the water is placated at the moment, but who knows if others reside in the room ahead."
Standing near the edge of the last wall that leads to the lab room Ressys calls out in the strange language of beasts to see if any answer.
Are you there? Are any beast there within the room? We mean you no harm.
The water looks cold indeed, and likely to very debilitating if one were to fall into it. For Ressys to have shrugged it off must have taken an incredible feat of toughness. You see large stones under the surface in the west room.
You all hear a strange bubbling come from the submerged area of the west room as Ressys speaks in low gutterall noises.
@Ressys:
A hissing sound comes back, which you interpret to mean "Leave us be, don't disturb the water"
Qidira voice was a welcome surprise that put on smile on the goliath’s face. More than that, it was incredibly reassuring to have her back. She was a fine scout and even better shot. Not to mention that the fact she was there meant that no animated armor walked on the tail of the party. At least not in that moment.
“It is so good to see you. Besides the creatures the water itself is too cold for most races.” He said to the gnome, unsure if she would be affected by the temperature. When he first left Eiselcross he was surprised by the fact that most people could not brave snowy weather without specific clothing. “I believe I would be fine, though, so if we need I can swim across and set some rope over the surface, but to be honest it would be faster and probably easier to just climb through the wall. I mean, by Durnham’s description what is beyond is the kind of place we are looking for and may just have what we came here looking for.”
The last part was more hope than belief. The ruins themselves had proven itself to be far larger than anything Kotar could have imagined.
Durnham smiles at Qidira. “I’m glad you were able to return to us. Your skills and company were missed. If you’d like, you can carry the bag again.”
He then turns to the others, “I am all for anything that means we don’t have to swim through that frigid water. I don’t think I would do well with that cold.”
Brandon nods at Ressys’ suggestion “I will try to work my way around the edge, staying out of the water.” He takes the lead and hugs the wall as he pulls himself along the edge and into the next room, trying not to disturb the water. Strength: 17.
Qidira collects the bag back from Durnham with a nod of thanks, grateful partially for the assistance in carrying some of her own supplies from it. She quickly secures the satchel to her side.
To the group, "I agree, I would have no tolerance at all for the cold of that water. Without the generous gift of the waterproof weather gear, I'd struggle with the temperature in general. I did note some large stones under the surface in the west room, but I'm not sure if that's important." Qidira offers pointing in that direction and eyeing Brandon's progress along the edge potentionally spotting any dangers he may not note as he moves.
The hissing noises reply to Ressys: "Fine. Stay out of our water and there'll be no quarrel"
Brandon is the first to go, using muscles honed by years of training and combat to swing round the breach in the wall. He lands on the dry floor with a soft thud; there is a door to the west and water to the south, but the soldier can see nothing of note inside the room.
(Anyone wanting to swing around the wall needs an Athletics or Acrobatics check please)

Durnham attempts to follow Qidira’s example “It’s good to have you back Qidira, you are so much more nimble than the rest of us. I don’t have the strength of Kotar but I do have fairly good finger dexterity from working on spell components and weaving spells.” After accepting the blessing of Ressy’s god he thanks the giant Druid and attempts to clamber around the edge.
As Ressys stands on the east bank waiting for the others to pass first, he offers the guidance of the Wildmother to his colleagues.
As Qidira, Durnham and Kotar start to cross, the smaller party members both look unsteady. At the halfway point the both slip, a kind of synchronised slide towards the cold water and the rock-creatures underneath.
In slow motion, the massive Kotar curls a huge arm around the pairand brings them back up to the wall. The trio continue their traverse and land at the north bank next to the waiting Brandon.
As he clung to the wall and moved around it, he started to slip and was heading for the icy water! Suddenly, Durnham was wrapped in the iron grip of the Goliath and was pulled to safety on the far bank. He collapsed to the floor a moment, breathing hard before collecting himself again. “Thank you Kotar! I think the cold is getting to me. I could barely even feel my fingers and they just slipped off the wall. I would have fallen in without your help.”
He nodded to Ressys as the firbolg started making the way close to the wall. Being less than graceful, Kotar observed as Brandon, Qidira a Durnham made their ways and followed behind, trying his best to copy their mannerisms. Mid way both gnome a dwarf slipped and as fast as he could the goliath put his arm in front and tried to push them back to the frozen ruin. Through magic or luck he managed to act in time and by the time they arrived on the other side of the way he breathed relieved.
“Compared to how much you helped me during fights, this was nothing.” He answered looking to both wizard and rogue.“I think the problem is how much the cold got to his place. Even for Eiselcross standards this whole thing has too much sleet ice. Remember when we tried moving the stones to get the corpses? I almost couldn’t get a good handle of the boulders because of the frost.”
An experienced that he hoped to not repeat anytime soon. Compared to everyone there was little Kotar could outside of battle besides moving heavy things. Failing to do even that was not exactly the most pleasant prospect on his mind.
As Qidira feels her numb fingers lose grip and her simple boots fail to gain purchase she looks towards the water in dismay wondering which will take her first, the creatures living within in, or the icy cold hoping silently for the cold. As the tip of her boots touch the icy water she is wrapped in an enormous arm and is amazed to find some warmth still left within the large Kotar. She touches ground gratefully, with a lingering hug to her massive friend for the assistance.
Moving carefully into the area, Qidira monitors the water for any activity as she moves to listen at the West door check for markings before leaning closer to do so.

Brandon holds his breath as Durnham and Qidira both begin to slip, then lets out a sigh of relief as Kotar reaches in to pull them to safety. “Nice save, my friend. I thought they were going to get wet for certain.” Brandon helps them get their footing on the far side of the wall. As Qidira moves toward the door, Brandon searches around the broken glass and debris of the laboratory, looking to see if anything could be salvaged while avoiding the water. Perception: 16.
Durnham let’s the team know what he sees through Archimede’s eyes.
”It looks like there is some kind of laboratory ahead. It looks pretty flooded though and might be difficult to get through.”

"I swim decently but what of the creature and the cold?" Qidira responds considering both.

“Should we go now, Ressys?”
Ressys responds to the hissing.
We do not wish to disturb, only to pass by. We stay out of the water as best we can. May we pass?

He then tells the others "Something else lives in the water here. Do your best to stay out of the water."
He again will wait for each person to go, granitng them Guidance before they do.
