Tortimer: (Displacer beasts are monstrosities, so essentially the same thing, but earthly not alien. And yes, it was a pack of displacer beasts on the prowl)
Sera: After some inspection, nudging and the reading of a tag you thought might be magical, but was just the seal of the manufacturer, you decide that the sack is likely just quite large–something to gather up belongings in bulk to sort through for valuables once a destination had been reached. Once your spell has cast, you begin to hear murmurs from the crowd. Many of them don't know how they've ended up here and are thinking about how they'd put themselves to bed as they had every night. Others curse their drinking habits. A few repeat prayers to various deities. None of the thoughts seem indicate betrayal or mistrust, save for a common, panicked thread of thinking over whether they'd be comfortable outrunning the others here to try and escape if it came to that. (I'll leave the others to describe their own thinking here)
Satsuma's thoughts are filled with satisfaction about breaking out and recovering her shortsword; not yet making its way to the top of her mind is any serious thinking about how they will escape from here, she's very confident that they will though.
Myles is relieved that he was able to get out, but concerned that he doesn't remember how he got there and has no memories before then, worried why he's lost his memories again. Then, he realizes that someone is probing his thoughts and is immediately on guard, glaring and staring at Sera behind his mask. (OOC: Detect Thoughts is verbal and somatic, and Myles and Sera should be close to each other at the bag, so he should be able to figure out who)
Sera looks back at the masked man near her and gives him a slight scowl. She thinks he knows that she probed everybody's mind. But she doesn't care and looks toward the Tortle.
"I'm almost ready to head out. Just give me a second"
She drops her backpack and opens it to reveal aCleansing Stone which she takes a moment with. All of a sudden all of the dirt and grime just washes away leaving a slight glow on her skin. She closes her bag and picks it up.
Myles' scowls back at the woman, knowing his mask would cover it. He decides to shrug it off for now as he stands, taking his things and adjusting his mask before turning to Tortimer and the others. "Let's get going."
Despite the glow from some of the mushrooms in this forest, it is still terribly dark and nearly impossible to see down the path. Eventually, there's a bend in the road that curves to the right, where the canopy overhead opens slightly and you can see the otherworldly twinkle of crystals here and there on the ceiling of the cavern. A pace further and the mushrooms have again completely covered the road.
Tortimer:(Gotcha about the displacer beasts –I think their CR might be too high for your current level too, though it's been a minute since I've read up on Wild Shape) – Keeping alert as you walk, you're first to notice a strange mushroom off to the side of the road after the bend. And then two more behind it. Then one on the road. Its shape may remind you of some flavorful foraged mushrooms you've had fried as a tavern or street snack, but this is as tall as the humans in your company and a shade of purplish grey that makes your stomach turn.
The place where the mushrooms stand seems to have been scratched out of the the "tree" line, with shreds of chitin and clumps of dirt thrown all about. Behind them, it appears there's a wooden pull cart with a broken wheel leaning into the dirt and mycelium.
Myles stops when he sees the tortle raise his hand. He looks to where he is looking at, seeing the mushrooms and pull cart. "These are some strange fungi. Know what those are?" he asks, nodding at the different mushrooms. He walks towards the cart, alert for any unexpected guests or traps.
“No I’m not sure what they are. Be careful though. There’s something off here. I feel it in my shell.” Tortimer says as he slowly stalks forward, alert and head on a swivel.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Myles waits for about a minute while she casts her spell, then continues on, noticing it would be a 10 minute spell instead. He walks stealthily, still alert and looking around for threats near the cart.
Stealth and perception, if needed: 22, 9
If there are no threats, Myles begins to search the cart for anything useful, where they were, or clues that could tell what kind of people were here.
Sera: You summon up your Clairvoyance sensor and, while there's nothing tremendously noticeable, you do notice a slight rustling coming from the mushrooms. However, there's no sounds coming from the cart or its immediate area.
Myles:I'm actually going to need you to roll a second stealth check, because I need to impose disadvantage on it (the reading involved to reach that point was tremendous lol) For the perception roll, though, I can tell you that the mycelium that has, until this point, been relegated to the road's edge is stretched out across it partially, over and under loose rocks. You would also notice the metallic elements that were once part of an armor set to one side of the cart as you approach.

(OOC: Was mostly wondering is I would be able to turn into one lol. Now that I've seen them.
Tortimers thoughts are of hunting and exploring. He wonders what beasts this new land has to offer for him to find and dominate.
Tortimer flexs his claws around his staff and looks to the others.
"Well? Shall we be off then?" He says as he stands slightly ahead of the others. He looks almost giddy to get going.
Sera looks back at the masked man near her and gives him a slight scowl. She thinks he knows that she probed everybody's mind. But she doesn't care and looks toward the Tortle.

"Alright. Let's get out of this dreadful place."
Myles' scowls back at the woman, knowing his mask would cover it. He decides to shrug it off for now as he stands, taking his things and adjusting his mask before turning to Tortimer and the others. "Let's get going."
Satsuma smiles (though you can hardly see it under her mask) and nods, and will begin walking with the rest of the party down the road.
Tortimer nods and begins walking down the road humming. As he walks his head is on a swivel, watching for any more ambushes.

(OOC: yea highest CR I can pick from is 2 and no flying speed.
Tortimer raises his hand to the group and looks at the mushrooms. He thinks they seem off but can’t pinpoint it exactly.
(OOC: should I roll a survival or nature check to identify them?
Tortimer: Roll a nature check to try and identify the mushrooms (if you were going to eat them, that's another story lol)
(OOC: oh I still might
Nature: 3
(OOC: mother ****
(OOC 2: interesting, makes sense though

Sera commands, "Wait."
She waves her hands and casts Clairvoyance (Due to Expert Divination I recover my 2nd lvl spell slot)
She casts an eye by the wooden pull cart.
Also after a little while she pulls out a hearing horn and will change the spell from seeing to hearing.
(OOC: Do I see or hear anything interesting?)
Tortimer stops and waits.

Gotcha, 19 for stealth.
(My rolls have been good so far and I am very worried about future luck :'D)
