Myles: (Quite good luck with those rolls!) You careful move towards the cart, avoiding any visible veins of mycelium on the road and so focused on your stealth that your breath is quieted. The purple mushrooms shake as you approach, but react in no other way. Upon reaching the cart, you can see clearly now that its likely the bones were wearing the armor at some point. In the cart, you find several significantly out of place items: candelabras, ceramic bowels, cut crystal glasses, sterling silver utensils–and a leather-bound journal atop the mound.
Myles, still keeping quiet and movements slow and steady, looks around at the cart's contents. The journal caught his eyes, and he carefully takes it, careful not to bump the other items. He skims the contents of the journal, looking for anything that might be important.
Is the purple mushrooms moving in a way that it's unnatural and noticeable or just swaying as if with the wind?
Myles hears Sera's voice in his head and glances back at her and the group. "I'm fine. There's some things out of place and I found a journal that might have information. Keep a lookout." (I don't know your ruling for this but Myles should be able to reply back in a whisper that only Sera can hear so it's still silent around him; if not Myles will just give a thumbs up sign.)
Myles: (Agreed on the Message piece) The mushrooms sway as if in wind–but there is no discernable wind. And the sparse gusts of air wouldn't cause them to move like they are. In particular, long strands that rise up out of the chitinous netting that make up the mushroom body appear to almost wave like a hand, curling their bulbous ends as they sway. Though it's difficult to read in the low light, you open the journal and angle it to catch the glow of the mushrooms. To your surprise, you find it's written in Common:
Eleint 14 1492
I thought it was a joke. Offense meant in appropriate measure, but the young lord of Nurindyn has been taken for a fool so often before that when he entered into contract with us to find the home of a surface dweller standing like an ulcer in the dark...well, I was mistaken. It wasn't what he thought, of course.
The others are dead, or soon will be. I grabbed what I could of goods from the house and left–no sense in leaving emptyhanded, no sense in dying.
I should've liked to see if that stone circle was a portal to the surface, as Amalca suggested. But truly, who knows where it would lead with the horrors in that home–and those dreadful statues!
Hopefully these trinkets fetch me enough to buy wine to wash this all from my memory.
Myles adjusts his eyes to read the words. Portal to the surface, he thinks. That should be our way out. Before he returning to the group, he looks around for what could have broken the cart, wary of the strange mushrooms.
Myles: (Yes, please. Stealth with disadvantage) Without needing to put in too much effort to investigate, you can see that the cart was likely struck by something as there's a crack in the side of the wheel that's come off. Small, fruiting bodies, glowing and grey-white sprout from the crack. These same tiny mushrooms are growing in and around the remains of the armor, and also run along to the base of the purple mushroom nearest the cart.
"There were some household objects," Myles says, then takes out the journal. "And this. It mentions some sort of portal to the surface and a house. That might be our way out of here." He glances at the mushrooms. "And your shell may be right; there's definitely off with the shrooms, or in them. Maybe both."
"Something about a young lord called Nurdin or something and statues in the house," Myles says. He hands Tortimer the journal. "Go ahead and read it if you want. I skimmed through it and this just caught my eyes."
Tortimer: As you flip through, you're able to glean some more knowledge about the writer. The reason that it's written in Common is because the journal was the property of a slave from the surface, taken from Waterdeep area. His owners granted him a level of freedom, because of his skill as an infiltrator, which meant that he was still property of the family, but could own currency and his own property. Early entries describe missing the surface, but that theme quickly fades as he begins to describe how he enjoys the thrills to be gained in his work in the Underdark. It also strikes you that his frequency of mentioning alcohol might point to a streak of alcoholism. He writes about the journey to the house he describes, but beyond that and the entry that Myles read already, there's nothing else to note.
"Just the journal of a high ranked slave." He says as he hands it off to the next person to look through. "Maybe that place he ran from was where we were headed."

Tortimer watches the surrounding areas as Myles looks in the cart.
Satsuma is also on watch, though she focuses on Myles and anything that might be out to grab him.
Sera points to Myles and casts Message.
"Don't mind me. I am opening a line of communication between us. Are you ok? Did you notice anything?"
Myles hears Sera's voice in his head and glances back at her and the group. "I'm fine. There's some things out of place and I found a journal that might have information. Keep a lookout." (Do I need to roll again to get back?)

Myles: You make your way back to the rest of the party without issue.
"What have you found friend?" Tortimer asks.
"There were some household objects," Myles says, then takes out the journal. "And this. It mentions some sort of portal to the surface and a house. That might be our way out of here." He glances at the mushrooms. "And your shell may be right; there's definitely off with the shrooms, or in them. Maybe both."
He clacks his claws along the shell.
"A portal, interesting. Does it say anything else?"
"Something about a young lord called Nurdin or something and statues in the house," Myles says. He hands Tortimer the journal. "Go ahead and read it if you want. I skimmed through it and this just caught my eyes."
Tortimer opens in and begins reading through each page.
"Hmmmm." He mutters
"Does it say anything else interesting?", Satsuma asks.
(OOC: I'll let you know soon lol

(Does it note locations or just the journey?
