Hello! Someone requested it so I'm going to be running a game of "Waterdeep: Dragon Heist", an urban adventure from levels 1 to 5. I'm looking for three or four more players.
About the setting: Waterdeep is a prosperous port city along the Sword Coast ruled by a council of anonymous Masked Lords, and figureheaded by the Open Lord, whose identity is known (currently the Open Lord is Laeral Silverhand, a daughter of Mystra the goddess of magic). There are significant noble and middle class presences, as well as significant poverty.
The game will take place in the foggy, rainy Spring, starting at the most famous tavern in the city, the Yawning Portal. So know why you're in Waterdeep (born there, visiting?) and what brought you to the tavern.
Thanks, look forward to hearing from you all!
EDIT: Because there's interest I'm opening up a second Dragon Heist campaign! Post here if interested.
Creach Adair; An Owlfolk, always disrespected by his family for being the youngest and fed up with being picked on by his thirteen older siblings, struck a deal with a devil, consequently resulting in being rejected by his family for making a deal with a devil, was told by that same devil to go to Yawning portal. And since he's never had ale before, he's decided to go into the tavern to try some. Blissfully new to actual culture having been living in the wild, Creach will likely have struggles with normal life.
I'll throw my hat in the ring... This is one of the module's I'm completely unfamiliar with - somebody's stealing a dragon? somebody's stealing from a dragon? - so everything would be a surprise to me.
Name: Zimm Trollmimm
Race: Goliath
Class: Wizard
Backstory: Zim is a frustrated academic. Ostracized among his own giantkin for his interest in the magical arts over physical pursuits, he left home to travel and study in an urban center of learning. But here he meets the same prejudices as mages and learned scholars refuse to take him seriously as a wizard. He has just quit his most recent apprenticeship upon realizing the senior wizard he'd planned to study under only intended to use him for manual labor and to carry his supplies. He is presently drowning his sorrows at the Yawning Portal as he contemplates what he is going to do with his life...

Hugo was born in a average peasant family but always strived to be something better! He spent a ton of time at a young age working with his father at the smithy, creating all sorts of weaponry and armor for the local troops. In his free time he would practice and familiarize himself with weapons and armor that he and his father crafted, becoming very proficient in the Morningstar and all matters of a shield in particular.
The INSTANT he was of age, he conscripted into the ranks of the City Watch, he thought a life of grandeur was afoot and that he would get to see the world one footstep at a time, but the army had other plans for him, he spent most of his time in the Watch surveying outside the walls and dealing with small squabbles in the streets. He started to CRAVE adventure and when his term was up, he sought that adventure!
If there is still room I would like to try and join as well. I have never been able to play this one.
Nowles Harpel comes from a famous and loneline of wizards that live in the town of Longsaddle. Like most of his family he has been wearing magic from the time he could understand the concept. Until recently he had been training with his family but eventually grew bored and decided that he wanted to increase his magical knowledge by learning from others. What was made as an off handed joke about him going to learn from Laeral Silverhand since she was a chosen of Mystra was taken seriously by the young wizard. With his destination in mind, Nowles set out for Waterdeep and then attempted to get an audience that was never granted. Since his time he has been staying at the Yawning Portal but is nearing the end of his savings.
Character: Aster Race: Rock gnome Class: Druid Background:
Aster is a botanist, traveling about and taking note on flowers, herbs, and the like. She is well-versed in the poisons and medical properties of plants, and is had been experimenting and looking for a cure for a magical sickness that has plagued a very close friend. Upon failing and unable to save them, she travels to gather more knowledge on magic and nature.
I’ll throw my hat in the ring, here. Do you mind if I play the Rogue from the Runtera setting? The Wild Card rogue? If you’re not familiar, it was a setting that DnD Beyond put out maybe a year ago and randomly And quickly pulled it from the site. Otherwise I’d go Arcane Trickster.
D’labos Helviate is a Drow Rogue with a taste for gambling. Wherever he goes, he can be seen shuffling a deck of cards. His shady past has been brief in the city, but he has already made a name for himself as someone who can be an absolute shadow when he wants to be.
D’labos has come into some gambling debt and is looking for some quick cash to keep his debtors at bay. He just knows if he can come into some money, he can quickly turn it into enough to repay all he owes at the underground tables.

Is UA allowed?
Farewell.
I'm fine with it.
I would love to play! Do you want us to roll stats here? Will post my character later today -
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
I’d like to play! Will work on a character story
Noob
Sounds good; do point buy for simplicity.

I am a little late to the party but I would like to be considered if you don't have enough or someone doesn't work out.

Heya again, I'm interested :)

Alright, you two are in; I'll consider one more player then I'll close things again.
Good. Well rounded party so far I would say.
Unless we get a rogue as our fifth, could Sephyre somehow get access to Thieves tools, by starting with gold for instance?
What I usually say is start with equipment but you can buy and sell at listed prices.

I would be very interested in playing. What classes do you all have so I don't double up?
Okay I didn't catch it in time so you two are both in, closing the recruitment again.
