“…we could be interrogating the wannabe assassin if I’d had some help,” PM sighs. “… it seems quite plain to me… they have an irrational bias against undead… blame them for problems without evidence or facts… quite irrational,” the dragon suggests. “…she offered accusations as truth… offered no proof… I shall defend the justly chosen leader of any area against such mindless assassin…”
Drego lowers his weapon as the Druid disappears in a flash of light. Looking about the room to make sure they're alone he holsters his weapon and turns to PM.
'Well, that seems to have ended the conversation rather effectively. I would have preferred a bit more exposition, perhaps finding out if this is their only target..... but what's done is done.'
"I don't say to believe them without thought, but I also don't suggest we blindly trust even a town's leadership without some thought as to the who and why of it." Robin points out. "These assassins, as you put it, are not destroying all undead in the area, just going after this single one for some reason. I would ask why that is, and what this mummy knows of those we fought previously." She heads into the temple as well. "And," She tosses over her shoulder as she heads inside. "I too will defend the elected leaders of a place, until proof is given as to why they should be brought to justice. Even then though it will be justice, not assassination."
“… in many lands, calmly conversing with a known attempted assassin is apt to get you found guilty as well… understand, please, I do not seek troubles but cavorting with those who conspire against the state does not sit well with me…” PM explains. “…evidence needs be presented before dealing out justice, as you say.”
Case seems slow to follow the conversation, glancing this way and that, but seemingly distracted. Finally he lunges forward violently, his mace swinging at the spot the elf had stood. With a powerful swoosh his mace catches nothing but air. He glances around at the ground a bit before turning his attention back to the group.
"Assassination is a blunt tool of evil. Though some may try to justify or reason for its honorable use, there is none. There is no question about it. I have no interest in negotiating with the elves further. They are criminals to be apprehended, as the small dragon says."
His homunculus continues its patrol flapping around above the building. Case steps back into the position where he can see everything and pauses in an action pose, ready to strike, and stands their frozen.

'Was happy to fight them in the streets, and happy to continue to protect the leadership of this town - was just hoping to get some more information out of 'she who talks to plants' before she poofed away. But what's done is done. I'm going to make a quick sweep of the perimeter, make sure they don't have anyone else lurking about.;
Jax relaxes slowly, and nods. "You are all probably right. I just thought there might be more to the story. So we are to guard Vorik until they are able to find out more? And then we continue our journey?"
He will set up and ready himself by the mummy, relying on others with sharper eyes to alert him of danger.
PM will go to the doors that Vorik went behind to pray... commune, meditate, whatever... and examine them to see if there is a crack between the doors, or the door with the floor. The dragon is looking for a 1 inch gap through which they could squeeze (or partially squeeze) so as to try to peek in and make sure Vorik is ok and undisturbed. The druidess elf could merely have been a distraction... ((Fey Passage racial feature.))
PM: Yeah, the gap under the doors is probably an inch wide or so, you could get through.
Slipping through into the sanctuary, you see that this one is quite similar to the one you met Riska in in Teryk. Chairs ring a black altar with and silver bowl and the red Blood of Vol teardrop symbol on top of it. Vorik kneels before the altar, murmuring under his breath in the slow cadence of ritual. He seems unharmed and undisturbed.

Dragon stealth - 21
Pieste Mor is just aiming to stick their head and neck in, look around that all is ok, then withdraw... However, if seen, they would quickly apologize! "...did not mean to disturb... we just had a bit of a dust up outside with one of the previous attackers... we chased them off... all is safe now, just making sure nobody got past us into here... I shall depart now..."
Robin is willing to wait and see what the mummy can learn. In order to do so she believes she has to stand guard to protect the village elder from these assassins. She does not trust the mummy, or these assassins, so is being watchful and alert to anything amiss with either group.
Jax is essentially right where Robin is, approach and process-wise. He's lost in thought and clouds of memory, and not very talkative. Watching outside a door, ready to defend, uneasy.
"We should ask Vorik, if there is anything else we should know," Jax says, walking back into the temple, after giving PM a slightly surprised look.

As long as there is no dangers in the room, Pieste Mor would withdraw and try not to disturb, or have it even been known they peeked.

Nah, Vorik does not notice you.

It would seem we retake our prior positions of watch?

Drego will hold his post until the Mummy has completed its ritual - or until trouble arises. He'll continue to patrol and look for anything unusual
