"Why did I attack?" Nolla asks with a baffled look to the others. "Those things wanted one thing, to make us into them. It is either we take them out first, or they will do to us what they did to that other." She shakes her head as she turns from the others. "If you wish to speak with them first next time, then do so, but it is on your head what happens to you then."
"let us get some distance on the bugs first before we do anything, the next combat, ok?" Samael decides to find a safe spot and just sit there for an hour.
"I doubt we'll be able to rest well here; perhaps we'll be able to do better at the farmer's place? We may have overstayed our welcome here anyway. And in the future, let's at least agree to attack when it's unclear."
"Likely need to use the more-used tunneels of the neogi if we want to find the workers." Nolla comments. "I was more interested in learning what was messing with my head, which is why I came this way. If you want to look for the workers, then we should head back to that main intersection." She glances to the others for a bit. "And I was certain of the creature's intentions, which is why I attacked. I stand by my decision to do so. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that those things wanted to make us into them, and I have no intention of ever allowing that to happen to me." She shrugs and turns away. "Shall we bakctrack then?"
"AYE." Samael utters in annoyance. "And they went for me almost as much as they went for peri. I got hit, tohugh, so if anyone can heal me, that'd be nice."
Nolla lifts her torch up and starts back the way they came. She is looking for the main intersection they found previously, and then would check out the passages that looked a bit more well-traveled.
So after some uncomfortable trekking and squeezing through the narrow passages, you find your way back to the main intersection. You can easily identify the main tunnels used by the neogi from your previous investigations, essentially one north-east and the other south, with the northern tunnel being the one the two neogi came from initially.
"I think we just kicked the peaceful option out the door. I'm resting. need energy back in case they bring friends."
(we short rest. get magic and health back.)

(short rest. we need it.)
(Short rest takes a full day, or something like that, so not sure what you have planned here... Long rest is a full week.)
Yeah...it's a silly (IMHO) part of the 'gritty realism' rules.

Thavriol frowns. "How badly is everyone hurt? We still haven't found any sign of the missing workers or the farmer's things."

Thavriol turns to him, lays his hands upon Samael. A warm glow surrounds them both as the paladin transfers a little of Tyr's presence to the other.

"much obliged."Samael them holsters his mace, brings out his crossbow and loads it, and takes rear position of the party.

"how bout we stick to neogi paths this time, ok?"
"Sounds like a plan."
Thavriol agrees, asks which one, and then, as always, takes the lead.
