Behind the creature though, the three other creatures continue to focus on the neogi on the floor. Suddenly the cavern fills with the sound of pained screeches and haunting moans. The sound of tearing and breaking echo about the space as you see the neogi on the floor convulse and crumple, collapsing in upon itself. A sudden blast of darkness and murk fills the space and none of you are able to see anything, but as quickly as it appeared, the murk is gone. Slowly getting to its feet where the neogi used to be, you all see another of these creatures. Now, the other four creatures all turn to stare at you just like the first. You see the bristly hairs on their arms and backs stand and quiver, and a low chittering and snapping can be heard from all of their pincers and mandibles snapping.
Each of your heads is filled with some nightmarish vision - utter darkness surrounding you and slowing engulfing you and oozing up and into your mouth. These creatures standing over you and a similar transformation occurring to you. Hundreds, thousands, or even more bugs and beetles emerging from every small hole in the tunnel and cavern walls only to crawl up to cover and engulf you where you stand. But in a split second, the visions are gone and you stand once more where you were, facing these five creatures.
(Everyone to make a Wisdom Save for your stress check please.)
The visions in your heads fade and while he's used to voices and patrons whispering in his head, Samael is shaken somewhat by the unnerving idea of not just being enslaved, but turned into one of these creatures and takes on further stresses of the venture. Similarly Perigord struggles with the vision, already uncomfortable in the enclosed tunnels, he too feels the stress of the venture wearing him down even further.
"I serve a master. I cannot, will not serve another! Leave me be, Fiend!" Samael yells out in anger, not attacking yet, but will not hesitate if push comes to shove.

Thavriol Initiative 17
Sensing his companions initiating combat, Thavriol connects to his link to Tyr, God of Justice, and extends his mystical protection to himself and the others.
ooc: Watcher's Will on himself and all the others: For 1 minute, you and the chosen creatures have advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws. He can do 4 total.
Nolla's arrow pierces the chitinous armour of the creature in front. It flinches and lets out a low grumbling growl as the attack angers it. Thavriol calls upon Tyr and you all feel a warm glow wash over you as the Watcher's Will grants you favour and protection.
Everyone else to roll initiative. If any of you have actions to take now that combat has been initiated, I'll allow the rest of you to make an action as well.
(OOC - they're all reasonably close to one another in the centre of the space. You're about 25ft from them. The first one that stood to look at you is closest and not has an arrow in him. The other four are clustered in a group right behind him.)

Initiative:7
Perigord is too surprised to take an action before the general combat starts, as he was planning to try and parley with these possibly friendly creatures, and isn't sure if they truly mean harm.
Two of the creatures rush forward to attack Perigord's lantern.
Claws 167 (no damage, as they're aiming to knock the lantern out of your hand and douse the light.)
The creature with the arrow from Nolla runs at her and attacks with it's claws as well.
Claws Attack: 8 Damage: 5
Then another creature runs at Samael after his shattering spell in amongst the creatures went off and swiped at him with his claws.
Claws Attack: 16 Damage: 7
The final creature runs at Thavriol and swipes with his claws.
Claws Attack: 17 Damage: 5
(OOC - each of these creatures emits an aura of fear, starting your turn within 10ft of them (which you currently all are) requires a Wisdom Save DC 11 against being frightened until your next turn.)
ooc: If Thavriol is within 5 feet of Samael, he will use his reaction to impose Disadvantage on that attack roll. If not, disregard the opening of my move. Don't forget we all have advantage on WIS saves for 1 minute.
As one of the creatures lunges past him to attack Samael, Thavriol spins, slamming it with his shield, hoping to throw off its attack. He then spins back face his own opponent...and feels a miasma of fear try to settle on him. Gritting his teeth, he tries to fight it off, sidestepping the attack.
WIS Save 16
Raising his blade, he calls out in Elvish Fire of Tyr and attacks with this rapier.
Attack: 14 Damage: 11. I don't know if any of the other creatures are close enough to be affected by the cantrip but, if they are, one of them takes 4 points of fire damage.

Shaking the fright off, he notices what they attacked first. "we need more light! These creatures hate it! protect the light!"
he also attacks the one that attacked him Attack: 13 Damage: 5 with either 3 extra psychic or 2 extra fire damage, dependent on what the mace of psychic fire's element type is.
Thavriol's attack just misses the creature as it dodges out of the way, while Samael's mace is caught in the large pincers and pushed aside.
(OOC - I'll have to have a look at my notes about the mace when I get home. I can't remember that one either of the top of my head. I think it's psychic but I'll try and confirm.)
(DragonDenn is away, so I'll take Nolla's turn now to keep things running.)
Nolla disengages and moves to the centre of the room and turns to fire an arrow at the one that hit Samael.
Shortbow Attack: 18 Damage: 11 including sneak attack.
