Dark Secret (Something that your character has done that they are embarrassed about or ashamed of [put this in a spoiler please])
Character Alignment (this part is actually important, as I hope to go into morality and get into this)
Character Department (detailed below)
(I would also like to bring this into epic levels, so if you're looking for a short campaign this likely isn't what you're looking for)
Departments:
R&D: This department was founded by Dimble Timbers, the Gnome Wizard, so that as dark magics evolved, so could the methods to fight them and track them. As a part of the R&D department, you adapt on the field, testing out new and experimental technologies for the betterment and protection of the lives of agents.
Information Services:
Information Services was founded by Eltress the Connected, Elven Bard, so that they might stay connected for the purpose of gathering and collecting information on rumors of lost artifacts, ancient techniques, and lost secrets. As an agent of Information Services, you might be uncovering artifacts first-hand, learning secrets lost to time, or following up on rumors of magical anomalies.
Special Forces:
This Division was formed by Jacob Stronghold (director and main founder of M.E.T.A.L.) to train future generations to protect the lands and people. Having expanded into subsects, it has multiple divisions for the multiple threats.
Juggernauts:These specialized fighters are heavy hitters and make up for what they lack in speed in sheer force and power. Often wearing specialized suits and trained in many diversified fighting styles, these well named Juggernauts are a sight to behold on the battlefield.
Handlers:These trainers understand the power of nature and it's uses in battle. Training many beasts from messenger pigeons to battle wolves to assault Elephants, these trainers can raise an army from the wild.
Riders:Riders are trained in mounted combat ranging from horses to dire wolves to anything they can ride. Masters of moving combat, they have learned to hit and go while avoiding counter attacks.
Background : Soldier. His elven father and human mother met when his father was serving as an ambassador from an elven king in the east. After his human mother died, Aeneas went to his father's homeland and served as a warrior in the kingsguard. After a while, became bored and decided to set off in search of adventure.
Dark Secret
The real reason he left is that he had an affair with the king's daughter, and was banished for this.
Background : Beatrix was raised by a fairly prominent family, and grew up in comfort. When not being schooled in the magical arts, she was often called upon to attend parties and gatherings to 'represent the family interest' she often grew bored and explored the lavish residences she was in. She gained an eye for appraisal, able to tell value from fake, and eventually dabbled in minor theft, taking small items and selling them on, donating the proceeds to charity.
Once such item turned out to be an artifact of interest to METAL. Impressed by her skilful recovery of the item, the Halfling agent Eldon Halfheard recruited her to the Intelligence Services Branch of METAL, making use of her skills in both information absorption and her lightfootedness.
Dark Secret
Beatrix has stolen several magic items from the family vault to aid with her theivery. If it were to come out that she had done this, she would be stricken from the family records and cut off.
Background: Bryant was born on a small country farm to a good albeit very average family. He was a happy well behaved kid though he was frequently bored with life on the farm. When he turned 10 his father took him to the city to sell the seasons harvest. It was his first trip to the city and he was amazed by the excitement. He was particularly enamored with The Monastery of the Broken Blade and as he witnessed the grace and ease of it's followers training in the courtyard. He knew then he would never return to the farm. While his father wasn't looking he slipped into the crowd and disappeared. He heard his father call out to him in panic, he heard the guard shuffling to find him but he hid and waited. That evening he went to the Monastery telling the monks his family had died and begged them to take him in. He never regretted his decision, the sword was his family now.
Dark Secret
Bryant's training at the monastery was exceptional. He was a fast learner, talented and driven. That's why when he disappeared in the middle of the night everyone was shocked. The shock that accompanied his disappearance was quickly surpassed by the realization he was not the only thing missing. The monastery was home to a sacred blade of pure radiance. The weapon appeared broken (hence the Order's name) as it was just a hilt but practitioners of Kensei could make the make the blade appear through a sheer force of will.
Bryant had heard his family homestead was endangered by a band of outlaws terrorizing the countryside. When the Order wouldn't act and the local militia could not contain the threat he stole the blade and stopped the threat on his own. His family never knew why the attacks stopped, no one did. Bryant knew he could never return to the order so he took his blade and skills to protect those who could not. This ultimately led him to METAL.
Name:Sinver Sympony Race: Mark of Scribing Gnome Class: Artificer (Battle Smith) Background: Investigator
Being from a family of prominent scribes, there were many expectations placed on him to continue the family legacy. However amongst his extended family, he by far had the least talent. This caused his father to be particular hard on him thus developing an inferiority complex. But nonetheless his entire family loved him dearly. One day though, a massive magical explosion would occur killing off everybody in the vicinity. This included much of his extended family. Somehow Sinver survived and this is when the M.E.T.A.L. Agency found him, took him in, and trained him to be one of their operatives.
Dark Secret
The explosion came from a magical item that Sinver's grandfather was in possession of. Sinver snuck into his grandfather's study and ended up tinkering with this item out of curiosity. This caused the explosion and possibly why he was the only one to survive the blast. The M.E.T.A.L. Agency was already close behind in search of this magical item prior to the explosion. Once they found Sinver they interrogated him extensively before "absolving" him of any crimes.
Character Alignment: Lawful Good
Character Department: Information Services (but spent some time in R&D)
Extra Notes (if curious)
His inferiority complex is causing him to be more of a jack of all trades. He could front line but isn't the tankiest. He could backline but doesn't do the most damage. He chose to specialize in throwing weapons to be flexible in both melee and ranged combat. May in the future take the Spear Mastery Feat (UA)
A lot of his other skills are meant more for espionage. I would use his tool expertise as well as spells in an attempt to sneak him into places. The Ring of Spell Storing is actually meant for my Steel Defender (shaped like a 6ft tall gorilla) to use so he can either tag along in sneaking or even assist me (disguise self and magic mouth). I figured I'd let you know some of the shenanigans I would like to do and if this kind of thing would flow in your campaign.
Grumboldt had spent his adult life perfecting his Ghostpepper and black licorice rumchata. He asked all his friends and family to taste test his incredible drink. They all smiled, gave a half-hearted thumbs up and said "ummm. yum... it's like, really good..." Success! With rave reviews in his taste test, he took out a huge loan to open up the Windbreaker Brewery in Tarnsteppe. It's the former haunted house in the old district... you know the place; can't miss it.
Anyway, he was expecting to be raking in the dough, but the clients hated his drink and they said the brewery's atmosphere was not "ghost chic" like they expected, it was just old and cobwebby. Well this put a real damper on ol' Grumboldt. He turned hard to the kegs of Windbreaker special he had brewed, hammered every morning by 9. He stood outside his brewery and tried to bring new clients in to save his failing business, but he just ended up getting into brawls with the annoyed citizens.
Soon, he was arrested by the guards and thrown in jail. But given that he would spend the rest of his days rotting away or else toiling for the banks, METAL saw an opportunity - they paid off his loans to give Grumboldt a second chance. He could put his excellent brawling skills to use serving the people, or he could die trying.
Dark Secret
Grumboldt actually loves poetry and writes it in his journal.
Character Alignment: neutral evil (only cares about himself) but ready to make the best of his second chance and turn a new leaf
Character Department: Maybe riders? That sounds cool
Background: Far Traveler For most people, the Feywild was a dangerous and forbidden place. But for Umar, it was home. He grew up in the Summer Courts of Queen Titania, and although he wasn't a particularly prominent member of the court, he somehow managed to get the attention of Titania. As the queen began to take notice of him, she began to slowly grant him additional powers that allowed him to better serve the Summer Court.
As time passed, Umar quickly rose to become one of the Queen's favorites, although the satyr was never quite as close to her as he would have liked. One day, Titania made a bet with a wandering traveler from a strange organization on the Material Plane. The circumstances of the bet were and still are unknown to Umar, but the Queen lost. The price for losing was her favorite warrior, and so Umar was taken from his queen onto the Material Plane where he has served reluctantly in M.E.T.A.L.
Over time, the Material Plane began to grow on Umar, and he eventually learned to accept his new place and even enjoy some of his responsibilities. By now, Umar had been working for M.E.T.A.L. for upwards of 5 years, and the Feywild was a distant memory. There were moments that Umar still pined for home, but even across the planar border, his connection with the Queen of the Summer Court allowed him to continue to siphon some of her power and serve as an effective agent of M.E.T.A.L.
Dark Secret (Something that your character has done that they are embarrassed about or ashamed of):
1. Umar has harbored a secret crush on his patron, Titania ever since he began working in the court. He secretly wishes he could return to the Feywild where he might be able to woo Titania and become her partner.
2. Early on in his missions, Umar was careless with his allies and although circumstances certainly played into it, his last 2 groups of agents had all died and he had been the only survivor.
Character Alignment: Chaotic Good (However, I hope that he starts to drift towards the lawful spectrum as he realizes his carelessness can affect others.)
Character Department: Special Forces - Handlers; His Magic Items and Build will support this kind of involvement.

Name: Valeria Duskleaf Race: Wood Elf Class: Druid (Circle of the shepherd) Background: Valeria was born in the insular elven community of Greenleaf in the Grand forest. Never truly comfortable around people she spent most of her time in the forest with animals she had befriended, playing them serene tunes on her wooden flute. Her aunt Aurelia soon noticed Valerias affinity with animals and taught her the ways of the circle of the shepherd. Eventually she decided she had to see the world outside the Grand forest and set out to travel the lands. She recently came across agents of M.E.T.A.L, saving them from an ambush, who swiftly recruited her into their organization. Dark secret:
Valerias vile cousin Malvolio, the son of the local regent, never had any regard for the creatures of the forest. One day Valeria found him torturing a deer for pleasure. Enraged Valeria shot him through the heart with an arrow, afterwards claiming it was a hunting accident. The next morning she left Greenleaf and will never be able to return.
Background: Short version, Williwaw is a princess of the unsealie court. She was summoned by a novice conjurer that didn't understand the contracts of the feywild and Williwaw was able to win a permanent position in the department of research and development.
Dark Secret:
Part of her contract was a sexual favor and now she is pregnant with a half gnome child and would never be accepted back as a noble fey.

Name: Rahkinchu Race: Half-orc Class: Druid (Circle of the Land)
Background: Born to an orc mother, Rahkinchu grew up within an orc clan. Her father was evidently a human from a nearby tribal group, but she never knew of him. Her half-orc heritage was always very apparent, however, she was tough and relatively strong. She was able to hold her own against the other orc children. She definitely felt the strong emotions orcs inherit from Gruumsh, but always in the back of her mind was the thought that maybe she was missing true orcish rage that the others had.
As she grew, her affinity for the spiritual aspects of the tribe became apparent. She was soon selected to go off in isolation and learn the ways of the tribe's shamanic druids. As she learned and developed a closer connection to nature, it somewhat seemed to fit that bit she had always felt she was missing. These shaman women were all dedicated to the goddess Luthic, and Rahkinchu certainly considered herself to be a devotee as well. But as her connection to druidic powers and the natural world grew, she began to doubt the evil side of Luthic and much of what would be considered evil in every-day orcish life.
Having completed her training, she returned to the broader clan and left the life of isolated study. But despite all the time she had had for reflection, she only felt more like something was missing or incomplete. The return brought back reminders of how brutal life was - even amongst their own people. With her newfound outlook, she struggled even more to live this way. But she didn't have long to worry about this. Hardly a week later the place where her clan was camping in the mountains was attacked by a group of humans. Many of the orc warriors were killed and the others scattered. Rahkinchu was not totally sure who had lived and who had died, but she managed to get out relatively unharmed.
Ending up alone, she took the events as a sign - in the midst of her doubts about her place here and desire for more enlightenment her clan had been put into upheaval. She felt surely Luthic was sending her out. To where, she was not sure. But she decided to move away from the orcs and perhaps try to find more enlightenment from humans. After all, she was part human too, wasn't she?
Traveling in human lands was difficult. Of course, her orcish appearance was unlikely to give her any initial sympathy among many humans. And she just didn't know how she was supposed to act. It was at this point an operative of M.E.T.A.L. ran across her. From talking to her, the woman realized that although Rahkinchu had been clearly raised in orcish ways, she at least had the willingness to change. Over time the half-orc earned their trust. She is willing to do what they ask in return for having a place - a place where she can try to understand their philosophies. Even if she still can't quite bring herself to truly believe in them all herself.
Dark Secret:
Having lived her early life amongst mostly Lawful Evil orcs, there are many things Rahkinchu now regrets and is ashamed of. Even during her escape from the attack on her clan, she killed a handful of humans. And she has killed others before. She believes very much in living a life of balance and turning away from the evils of her early life. Though she hates to admit it, deep inside she still feels the rush from engaging in physical battle and great joy from defeating others.
There are however a couple of specific events that stay with her and trouble her:
The first was when she was young. Physical contests among orc children were frequent and she certainly didn't shy away from them. In one case another girl, a bit younger than her, had taken something she felt was hers. What it was she can't even remember now - it really wasn't that important. The two fought, with Rahkinchu knocking the girl out and taking back whatever it was. But the rivalry didn't end there. The younger girl continued to pester her and the two continued to get into scuffles. It escalated and escalated until the two finally ended up in a contest to the death and Rahkinchu killed the other girl. This was commonplace among her clan and no big deal to the others. At the time, even Rahkinchu didn't think too much of it, although there was always a twinge of guilt she had about it. Now that she reflects back, she thinks about how horrible it was that she just killed another child. And over some complaint that wasn't even important enough to remember.
The second incident was as she was nearing her training as a druid. She had been trained to make poisons and was expected to provide some for her clan to aid their battles. But for one particular task, she and some her sister druids were to make a poision, sneak into a nearby settlement they were going to raid, and put it in some of their food supply. She felt proud of her work in making the poisions. But she also was in a position to covertly observe the results. For many, they just got sick - a great benefit for her fellow orcs that would be attacking. But she also saw how the poision got to everyone - the elderly and children were most affected. She still can recall seeing a small group of kids, gasping for breath as the poision took their life. And the mother who's baby was killed. It left a hollow feeling within her, during what should have been a moment of great triumph. She now even reflects back now that she had other choices than to learn to make poisions, but that was the path she chose.
So Rahkinchu may admit to others that in her past life she may have killed people. But these two incidents are among those she keeps hidden. She realizes that much of her early life she would have resorted to killing anyone indiscriminately. And she does regret that now.
Alignment:Neutral (In the good-evil spectrum she definitely grew up with a more evil alignment and has moved towards good to get to neutral. She is fine with doing good but has a ways to go for that to truly be her outlook.)

Name: Rahkinchu
Race: Half-orc
Class: Druid (Circle of the Land)
Background:
Born to an orc mother, Rahkinchu grew up within an orc clan.
Alignment: Neutral (In the good-evil spectrum she definitely grew up with a more evil alignment and has moved towards good to get to neutral. She is fine with doing good but has a ways to go for that to truly be her outlook.)

and Oberron99
Farewell.
Second one? Would I be the first one by posting this then? :-)
I- I should have expected nothing less from a fey noble. But by that logic isn't this the second post, so now neither of them get in?
Farewell.
Sorry, was actually a bit unsure if this was about trying to wait and post immediately after the first one. You do as you wish of course. I´m game if you should so decide :-)
Alright cool, Culuril is in! I’ll start an OOC PM thread and an IC forum later today.
Farewell.
Have fun all! (I will be interested in any METAL missions in the future, maybe we'll cross paths again)
Well... glad to be able to join! That was kind of an interesting way to settle on a last spot... guess I was lucky I was a bit busy this morning!
