Bryant is lost in thought as the three walk toward to the deputy. Something is not right here and while he is usually pretty good at reading people but this situation has proven difficult. As this thought leaves his mind his ear catches Aeneas' tune.
"My friend, are you sure you are not a bard or a poet? You have artistic quality that I have not seen in other warriors."Bryant looks Aeneas over a bit more closely and notes him carrying a sword. "I see you are also a student of the blade. What brought you to wield the instrument of the soul?"
Bryant looks the half-elf in the eye quite curious as to what he will say. Bryant makes no attempt to hide how important the answer to this question is to him.

Valeria investigation:11 "Nope, nothing of interest in here." Val says, handing the file to Sinver and Rahkinchu, although she realizes she might have missed a thing or two not being skilled in speed reading for vital information, mainly grabbing the file as an excuse to not talk to that hysteric of a deputy.
Aeneas laughs as they approach the Deputy's office. "Me? A bard? No, I wouldn't know a flute from a lute. My mother, may she rest in peace, used to sing to me long ago. After she died and I went to live with my father's people, he tried to get me to take traditional elven training in music and poetry, but my hands are more suited to swinging a sword than plucking strings or writing verse. Plus, I enjoy tavern songs much more than long elven dirges and requiems. My amateur singing has always brought fond memories, since Mum passed 50 years ago... and occasionally it impresses the ladies." This last he says with a wink and a grin.
Upon taking the papers from Valeria, you realize that the files were not, in fact, encoded, but upside-down. The sketches depict scorched areas of earth with rings were huts may have been, a small coastal town smashed to pieces with a trench of black through the center, and other various areas, camps, and small villages where virtually nothing was left.
"All of those raids? They only have two connections. They're all destroyed, nothing left. No people, no buildings, everything gets destroyed, stolen, or worse. Two, they all had some sort of remnant of Giantic material. See this town?" He asks, pointing to the coastal rubble, and the pedestal that must have held something of importance to whatever lived there, "There was an axe, forged by Fire Giants, that warmed the entire town. Other gold, materials, even Drow items were all destroyed. This one here?" Pointing to the scorched earth, which looks as though it used to be a farm of some sort, "It had an orb, kept in the chieftan's quarters that concentrated the energy of storms and brought good crops. Made by who? Storm Giants, given as a gift to the leader of a fallen kingdom, reclaimed by the lizardfolk that lived there,"
"Interesting." Val says pondering the words of the deputy for a moment. "Do you know of any other Giantic remnants not yet stolen, either in Drakeriver or anywhere closeby?"
(OOC: Boy George perhaps ? :-)
(OOC2: I´m starting to think Val and Rahkinchu are soul mates, saying the same things at the same time ;-)

(OOC: No offense, I may have said something and just don't remember, who's George?)
"The only things that I could think of here are the Drake and.. no. Just the drake,"
Aeneas wipes his boots on the front step, opens the door to the deputy's office, and enters. Seeing Valeria, Rahnkinchu and Sinver speaking with the Deputy, he clomps over and says, "What ho, comrades? What have you learned?"
He looks at the Deputy appraisingly, mentally estimating a threat level from the official. After coming to the conclusion that he poses little risk, he nods briefly in the Deputy's direction.
"Oh, by the way, I.... er, we have secured lodging and victuals, gratis, at the finest establishment in town. It's a bit stuffy, but the beds should be comfortable."
He sits in a chair, leans it back while propping his feet up on the desk, and once again admires his reflection in his shield, tucking stray bits of hair back into their proper places.
(Aeneas, think you enter to a reception sort of area. Office is down a hall... but there is at least one other door. So... hopefully you guessed right? Be funny if you're just talking to the old man!)
(If Aeneas is indeed in the same room, or when we get there)
Beatrix nervously enters the room, looking around, taking in the environment and clocking potential modes of exit. A hand subconsciously strokes the hilt of her dagger. She nods to her companions upon seeing them, feeling much more comfortable in the company of other agents of METAL.
"Nice to see you all again colleagues, it would seem that some of the more moneyed individuals are willing local settlements such as this one to be razed. It would appear that there is a strong desire for redevelopment of the land if the current occupants were indisposed. Does this fit with the findings of yourself and the honoured deputy?".

If no tracks are discovered, Aeneas will pop back inside and ask the receptionist for directions to the Deputy's office.
Either following tracks or the direction from Aeneas, Beatrix will hop off with her companions towards the rest of the party.

Aeneas sings quietly to himself a tune you do not recognize, but you think you catch the puzzling phrase, "...but I did not shoot the deputy..."

(OOC: Sorry, had some irl stuff going on, here we go!)
You find the tracks quite easily and follow them without too much hassle.
The deputy blushes a bit and responds;
”Well, not quite sure if I’d call myself an expert per se, but I am fascinated with the Giantic items taken in the raids.”
Farewell.
Make an Investigation check for me please?
Farewell.
Valeria investigation:11
"Nope, nothing of interest in here." Val says, handing the file to Sinver and Rahkinchu, although she realizes she might have missed a thing or two not being skilled in speed reading for vital information, mainly grabbing the file as an excuse to not talk to that hysteric of a deputy.
You note that the world seems to have flipped in these files, and the writing must be in some sort of tongues.
Farewell.
"Is this very sensetive information, or why else have they encrypted the file." Val mutters to herself, slowly shaking her head.
"So what gigantic items was taken in those raids?" Val says, cocking her head, a bit more curious again.
Aeneas laughs as they approach the Deputy's office. "Me? A bard? No, I wouldn't know a flute from a lute. My mother, may she rest in peace, used to sing to me long ago. Rahkinchu takes the papers back from Valeria and gives them a quick look. She is also trying to listen to what the elf and Deputy are talking about.

After looking at the papers, Rahkinchu offers them to Sinver if he wants them. She is paying much closer to the conversation now.
"So does Drakeriver have one of these Giantic things? Or another nearby town?"
