Before leaving, the paladin will take a quick look around the cave, making sure they aren't missing anything (weapon cache, secret chamber, some volcanic hot springs, etc.)

It's hard for any of you to estimate what might happen were you to stay in the cave to rest. Under normal circumstances, as night came it would get colder and be a big issue. There is no night here. I'm assuming you have camping gear - inside the cave you might make it the night if it doesn't get colder.
You would probably take a couple hours to descend back to where the cold wasn't an issue. Possibly less. You feel more certain about your chances doing that.
Aurelius doesn't find anything special about the cave before you depart.
(It's another CON Save DC 10 to face the cold going back.)
Elyria would help Aurelius to search the cave before they leave, to no avail. She would then try to lead the team the quickest way out of this frozen landscape, trying to stay near the paladin for protection. (Con Save: 16 )

Trying to avoid cold-induced despair, Aurelius half-heartedly jokes, "Too bad none of those swooning satyrs were here, they could have helped us stay warm."
He follows Elyria, keeping a close eye on his teammates in case anyone succumbs to the frigid temperatures. He will whisper to Elyria, "If you and Flynt want to shapeshift, I can summon Lady to carry myself and Yoë and perhaps make the descent quicker."
CON Save 12
OOC Not sure exactly why I whispered that, but it felt in character for some reason.
Elyria just roll her eyes and smiles at Aurelius' attempt to joke. "Thanks Aurelius, I think I will manage for now." She says, moving nimbly over the snow during their decent.
With a soft growl of resignation Flynt takes one last look towards the tower before saying, Summon Lady. Get Yoë back down as quickly as you can. I can't change again until tomorrow morning but those that can should. I'll come along as fast as I can."
Aurelius will pause for 10 minutes to cast find steed but he refuses to split the party. "If anyone wants to go on ahead they can, especially you, Yoë. Lady won't let you fall. I will bring up the rear, hopefully providing some minor protection against the elements."

Everyone manages to ward off the effects of the severe cold, but it does take a couple of hours to get back lower to where the wind is not quite so chilling. At this point you cannot really find any caves as good as the one you were in above, but there are ample places where you can get out of the wind and have at least some overhang to keep off the light snow.
"We should make a camp and rest."Elyria suggests, trying to find a suitable spot for that. Survival: 12 She then offers to again take first watch, finding a tree to sit in while eating some rations and then stay vigilant. Perception: 21
You find a well sheltered spot out of the wind and snow to set up your camp. The nearest tree is several hundreds of yards away from the camp site (you are no longer in a forested area, the elevation is probably too high for dense forest). Also, sitting in a tree would expose you to the elements more so than staying near the camp.
Yoë stays up for a bit and chats with Elyria. "What do you suppose could be up there in the mountains? Did you think all the snow and cold was strange? It seemed kind of strange. It must be something really dangerous though, I don't know of any satyrs that have ever gone up into the mountains here."
Realizing staying in a tree is not a good idea Elyria stays on the ground. "I suppose that tower could be Leilatha's true home, so to speak, where she does her most nefarious deeds. The snow and the weather seemed unnatural to me, but I haven't encountered this climate in the Feywild before so I'm not really sure, but I suspect it could be something Leilatha has created to ward off people from coming to close to her secret. I suppose we will simpy have to try and intercept her on her way here, somewhere where the weather isn't quite as harsh." She says in a lowered voice to not disturb the others trying to rest.
"Cousins? Oh... heh, Aurelius?" Yoë glances over to him. "I suppose so. Maybe." She laughs nervously, "I really wouldn't know!" Blushing slightly, she retreats to her sleeping spot. "I should probably get some sleep."
Elyria's watch continues in peace and then Aurelius and Flynt take their turns. An owl's hoot in the distance is about all that disrupts the quiet snowfall.
It is a cold rest, but significantly better than earlier when you were further along the path.
As morning comes Elyria warms herself by the campfire, eating a ration. "So what now? Go for the ambush spot and wait for Leilatha?" She says, looking at Flynt and Aurelius.
Before leaving, the paladin will take a quick look around the cave, making sure they aren't missing anything (weapon cache, secret chamber, some volcanic hot springs, etc.)
