Presxina nods at Aurelius' more serious remarks, smiling as he compliments that good company present. Yoë is thrilled as he starts to sing, getting up, wine still in hand, and dancing around a bit. "Now we're getting into the spirit!" she exclaims.
The music continues, everyone having their fill of stew. Yoë picks up playing whenever Aurelius leaves off. As always, she's ready to celebrate for hours and hours. But eventually the rest start to grow weary after their day of travel.
(Time for a long rest and move along to the next day. Unless anyone has anything else they wish to do before.)
The paladin sings and dances with the satyr and harengon until he simply cannot keep his eyes open any longer, and then drifts off into Morpheus' embrace, finally able to shed the gloomy feeling he's had the last few days.
Lost in contempltion, Flynt doses off on the observation deck. He awakens a bit stiffer than he would have liked, stretches the ache out of his muscles and heads back down stairs.
Everyone awakens the next morning to the numerous smells of breakfast cooking. All seemed to have slept well; even Flynt feels rested, if rather stiff. It seems that all the exertions of the past few days pushed you to fully rest. As you begin to stir, you hear a heavy patter coming from outside the tree. You soon realize it is the downpour of rain falling.
Once in the kitchen you see Presxina hard at work with pans everywhere. There seem to be eggs, sausages, potatoes with all sorts of bright red peppers, mushrooms, onions, and other spices being prepared. Yoë seems to be assisting, grabbing items from the cellars, tending to a pot while Presixna preps something else. It takes a moment before the satyr finally notices and says a bright hello. The harengone gives a smiling greeting as well.
"Good morning to you all..."Says a chirpy Elyria coming down the stairs. "...hope everyone slept and dreamt well." She adds, helping out with preparing the rest of the breakfast in any way she can. "I suppose we still have to decide what our next move is, but I don't think it would be wise to confront the mother of these hags quite yet so I propose we go together in search for the next piece of the Raiments of Nature." She says, looking around at Aurelius, Flynt and Rahkeshi.
"No! No, no. I don't need any more help," Presxina says to Elyria. "You all have worn yourselves down facing down enemies. Making some breakfast is the least I can do!" Even as she speaks she is preparing plate for Elyria. "What all would you like?" Yoë comes over with some slices of fruit and a couple of selections of fruit juice.
Rahkeshi follows Elyria downstairs to the kitchen area just a moment later. "Don't you eat all the food before I get there!" she teases. Looking around, she breathes an exaggerated sigh of relief. "Ah, Aurelius isn't here yet. We're probably good." The half-orc seems in a good mood and in much better condition for having had time to rest and recover.
As if somehow summoned from the aether by the mention of his name, the paladin soon stumps down the stairs, drawn irresistibly to the savory smells emanating from the kitchen. He sits with a pleased smile at the table, looking forward to his repast, when he notices everyone staring at him. "What...?" he asks, self-consciously. "Did I forget to put pants on again?"
Rahkeshi certainly hopes Aurelius didn't forget his pants! "No! I don't even want to think about such a horror!" The half-orc laughs. "We were just talking about how fortunate we were to get down here before you ate all the food."
Hot on Aurelious' heels, Flynt appears just after Aurelious. The same smells that drew the paladin elicit a low growl from the lawmans mid-section. "Hmmm....not sure he's the one you should be worried about." quips Flynt as he sits and accepts a hot plate of victuals from Presxina.
"It all looks very appetizing Presxina."Elyria says with a warm smile, gratefully accepting a plate with just about everything but sausages, leaving those to the others in the team, then taking a seat at the table next to Rahkeshi, laughing softly at the banter of the other team members.
"So, what do you think, continue to search for the Raiments of Nature?" She says after a while of eating, then leaning back in her chair, taking a sip of her fruit juice, looking around at Aurelius, Flynt and Rahkeshi.
Yoë, helping Presxina serve the food, places rather large portions of everything onto Rahkeshi's plate. She then seats herself to the half-orc's other side to eat her own breakfast.
Rahkeshi glances over at Elyria for a moment, staying quiet as she asks the question. She focuses more on her food, starting to eat several large bites.
"Ah, but you're thinking about it now, eh?" Aurelius winks at Rahkeshi. After wolfing down several mouthfuls of steaming food, and half a mug of some hot liquid, he answers, "Yes, more Raiments. Unless someone has something more pressing in mind. Yoë, will the satyrs be able to defend themselves against the Eladrin? Is there anything we can do to de-escalate this conflict?"
Rahkeshi glances at Aurelius momentarily. "I think I've made clear that I would seek out the Raiments." She turns towards Yoë, waiting to see what she will say.
Yoë looks up from her food, not saying anything for a moment. "Well. We satyrs are certainly not going to allow the Eladrin to just walk all over us." She again pauses. "Most of our warrior fought for Lady Leilatha. With them, we could definitely hold off those folks. I'm just not sure how organized they still are." She gives Aurelius a bit of a shrug. "Not sure what you could do to de-escalate things. I'll bet if you fought on our side though it would make them think twice about attacking us."
The paladin turns back to Rahkeshi. "You lived among the satyrs for a year, mon ami, albeit unwillingly. Do we leave them to battle the Eladrin alone? There can be no winners in this war, only losers on both sides. Those damnéehags, though dead, are still wreaking their havok."
Yoë's attention fixes on Rahkeshi as Aurelius poses the question to her. "The satyrs seemed mostly good people. I'd hate for the Eladrin to take what is theirs." She sighs softly. "We should probably help them before we go." She agin goes silent and lets out another soft sigh. "What did you have in mind that we might do?"
"I have no specific plan,"Aurelius admits. "We could attempt to retreive the hags' corpses to provide evidence for our claims. We could attempt to re-install the magical wards around Leilatha's fortress, protecting the satyrs. We could invite leaders of both factions to come to a peace summit, and try to broker out a cease-fire, and then a nonaggression pact of some sort. We could perhaps appeal to the Summer Queen," (his eyes get a little misty), "... to send one of her diplomats to help negotiate between the sides. I wonder if there is some trade agreement that could be hammered out, that would be mutually beneficial. Like some resource or some product that each group controls, that they could exchange with the other side to maintain peace. Yoë, can you think of any unique creations of the satyr people that the Eladrin might value? Or of any elvish craftsmanship that the satyrs would be anxious to obtain?"
Elyria smiles and nods in agreement with the paladin. She knew nothing about diplomacy and peace negotiations but if she could in any way help bring peace to these lands she would certainly do so.
Flynt stifles a soft belch with the side of his left fist as he wags a finger from his right momentarily in the air in front of him. "Aurelious makes a good point and it gives me an idea but since I'm not a native of this land I need a bit of a history lesson first. Have Sylmare and Leilatha been in power long? How did they rise to the throne? Not only that but how is it we're the only ones who know their truth? My point is, to broker a peace we need to unite the people to a common goal. Perhaps we can unite them against a common foe. That being the head of the coven. Besides it'll be a lot easier to return the raiments to M.E.T.A.L. with our opossition removed."
"But we don't want to lead the Satyrs and the Eladrin into a new battle with more deaths right?" Elyria weakly objects. She knew very little about poitics but was aware finding a common enemy was a way to unite, just not the way she preferred.
