“I also apologies for our disturbance of your evening, but would further impress if it would be convenient. If you were able to oblige a detailed description of this curious ship, or as detailed as you are able, this would be helpful.” Beatrix is still looking around warily, making sure to cover peripheral regions and blind spots. ”An illustration would even better elucidate the issue and factor into a course of action I am formulating.”
(Aleric didn't see the ship, but [it? he? she? does the owl have pronouns?] did see something under the water, something large, but unmoving.)
"Oh right, them magical, what's-not-thingy. Youse lookin' fer Gill? Ye foond 'im. And as far as I's concerned, you dinnae need tae be. No flyin' ships 'round 'ere, so thank ye, and goodnight." He says, closing the door on you.
"I take it the Mayor didn´t call upon our help then." Val says to the others with a sigh. "Our orders still stands though, we are to protect this town. Aelric..." She tilts her head to the owl on her shoulder "...has found something large hidden under the water. Perhaps we should check it out before finding a place to rest and eat?" Val says to the others.
(You sure you don't want to ask any locals before going up to something large and hidden underwater? The deadliest stuff is in the water *singsong evil dm voice*)
Aeneas seems unfazed by the mayor's abrupt dismissal. He cheerily proclaims, "Well said, voluptuous Valeria! A mysterious underwater object? Onward, adventure awaits!" (A close observer might notice a slight anxiety in his eyes about getting his shiny plate armor wet).
(OOC: I thought we just spoke to a local, but I suppose we could make another try.)
Val realizes she is a bit weary after the journey and looks around for an Inn or a tavern where they could eat and gather some more intelligence on that flying ship. Perception if needed, with help from Aelric:22
"I could send some of my friends checking the large underwater object out for us. If I can have a rest tomorrow I can grant us all the ability to breathe underwater, making a trip down there much easier I think." Valeria says to the others. "And from now on spare me all comments like that Aeneas." Val ends visibly irritated now.
Rahkinchu listens to the various conversations, a little amused at the apparent mayor's abrupt end to the conversation.
When Val mentions something beneath the water, she smiles. "Well, at least that sounds like somewhere to start. Much better than just waiting for an attack to happen."
She looks to Val to see which way to go to get to the water, then starts to head that way. As they go, she speaks to nobody in particular. "That mayor seemed a bit odd. You would think he'd be glad to have some help - even if they hadn't seen the airship here yet."
(Insight check - to see if I get an impression from his comments: 8)
Aleric has found every pub, inn, and lodging in town, narrowing it down to the ones with the most rooms, then removing the poor quality inns, you have two choices.
Arden's Tavern (A fine establishment known for their amazing ale) and
The Dine Inn (A slightly classier, though just as costly, restaurant/ hotel that has superb chowder)

You can't tell anything in particular other than, he was, in fact, drunk.
“Perhaps some of the townsfolk will be more accommodating, I would suggest from experience that the more… rustic of the two venues may yield more useful information”
Arden’s Tavern is a wood building three stories tall with a picture of a small dragon, curled up underwater on it. You step inside into a lovely atmosphere bustling with cheerful conversation, jaunty music, and cheers for more ale. Warm glow from candlelight fills the huge main room as barmaids travel from table to table with platters of mugs both steaming and chilled. There is not one frown in the place as even the gamblers in the corner play lively and without a frown. The half-orc bartender laughs at the drunk dwarves playing darts while a barmaid giggles at the flirtatious advances of an elven looking man with a beard.
A bit confused by Val's irritation, Aeneas opens his mouth to make a reply, and then thinks better of it (an unusual occurrence). Instead, he follows the others, a bemused look on his face, looking forward to a hearty flagon of ale with his supper.
As they enter the bustling place Val is looking very uncomfortable with being around so many noisy people. "You go ahead and talk around or whetever you call it. I won´t be of any help in here." She says to the others and finds herself a place in a corner from where she orders something to eat while studying the patrons from afar. Perception to pick up on interesting rumors:27
You get sensory overload as you concentrate and hear almost everything about John’s new boat, Ally’s new cow, Cheren’s affair, and the new people in town.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aeneas strides to the bar, and says loudly, "Barkeep! A mug of your famous ale, and a bowl of whatever you are serving for food tonight, please."
He then turns to the rest of the room and announces, "People of Drakeriver! I am Aeneas Northstar, the famed warrior you have heard so much about. My companions and I have come to your quaint village to defend you from evil and oppression! But first, let there be merriment.... Barkeep, a mug of ale for everyone in the house, on me!"
The tavern goes quiet for a moment before bursting out with laughter. Shouts and jeers go up and no one actually believes you’ll pay for their drinks, but they still think you quite funny and a few tables invite you over.
Rahkinchu walks directly up to the half-orc bartender as they enter. She almost starts to speak when Aeneas starts his speech, so she hesitates. Once he's done, she calls cheerfully to the man, speaking in Orc.
"Hi! I'm Rahkinchu! What's up with that dragon on your sign out front?"
She then pauses just a moment, but not really long enough for a response before continuing.

"Yes, let´s visit that tavern. People seem to talk a lot in those places." Val nods and steers toward Arden´s tavern.

Val quickly decides to instead do a mindfulness exercise while waiting for her food and for the others to gather some intelligence.
