Stormraider Keep (A M.E.T.A.L. Campaign)

The man Flynt was speaking with signals to the other, and the other satyr approaches.  He calls out from a distance, "What are you doing there? Who is this? Do you know him?"

 As the man gets within 30' you activate the rune.  You don't seem to notice any change in his demeanor.  "Well?" he asks as he comes closer. 

"Hey, he says he has something that Lady Leilatha is looking for. Seems like a good fellow. He's trying to help us out," the other satyr says.

The satyr speaking to Yoë shakes his head, "I am pretty sure if any of Lady Leilatha's staff were being sent out here we would have heard about. Although, you do look familiar.  Hmm, perhaps we should take you back to just have a word with the Lady and get this figured out."

He doesn't seem to be making any hostile moves thus far, just suggesting that she come talk to Lady Leilatha. 

(14.  Both Flynt and Elyria make a Perception check.  And feel free to continue the conversation for the moment.)

Flynt takes a few cautious steps toward the archer and when with in 10 decides to try and use his Fey presence to charm Short Bow. (Wow DC 12) 

"As I was saying to your friend here. I have some information on an article that your Lady seeks. It's part of a set, or so I'm told."

Flynt notices the sound of a bird, not too far away (maybe 50'). Looking in that direction, you see the shadow of a figure hidden behind the brush. 

Another similar call responds from across the canyon, nearer to where Yoë is located.  From a quick glance, Flynt can see a female satyr, similarly dressed in leather and with a short bow in her hands. She is clearly trying to stay hidden, though is more focused on Yoë.

(Elyria does not see these others. Nor does Aurelius for that matter.)

The demeanor of the other satyr seems to change. "Oh, wonderful! You found one of those items Last Leilatha had been looking for? How can we help you then? She is going to be thrilled to hear about this."

Yoë is rather hesitant as she responds to the satyr. "Oh, I think that is a bad idea! I mean, I really need to keep looking for those plants. I'd love to give Lady Leilatha a report,  but if I don't get the pants... uh, I mean plants... back then the potions don't get made.  And Lady Leilatha is not going to be happy then!"

"Call your other friend as well. I appreciate the caution but I mean you no harm." Says Flynt. He motions for all the scout to follow him towards the canyon wall. As he does he undoes the bindings holding his rope of entanglement. Passing the coils back and forth between his hands Flynt measures out lengths of rope as one does to prepare for a decent.  "We have to head down. Here take this rope. The way down isn't to bad but we should tie off off to be safe"

If Flynt can see Yoë he will uses his insight to try and discern how the situation is going on the other side. Insite:21

OCC: Sorry everyone I though I posted this last night. I'm trying to steer things back towards the group as fast as possible.

(OOC: No problem Mr January, take your time :-)

The two scouts turn to look back away from the canyon. One calls out, "Come on! This guy is going to help us!"

There does not seem to be much of a response and the two seem to shrug it off. "Wonder if she already moved along ahead?"

"Yea, perhaps that is it."  He turns back to Flynt. "So where is this item and what did you want us to do?" He takes the rope that is being offered and passes it off to the other scout next to him.  

(OOC - And I apologize now. I thought I'd replied to this last night too but must have fallen asleep at some point without doing it!) 

Unable to get a good read on Yoë and Elyria due to the distance across the canyon Flynt decides to continue the best as possible. Answering the Lead Scout he says, "I have it stashed away in the canyon. Lower our friend there down while I go get your companion. I just saw them a moment ago." Withoit waiting for a response he starts walking back towards the place he saw the third scout. "Hello there! I saw you a moment ago so please come out. Join your friends and I. I have something to show you." 

OCC: I'll puse here for a response. If Stealthy Scout doesn't come out Flynt will continue to approach. I'm looking for one Scout to be lowered into the canyon and for the final Scout to reveal themselves to Flynt before Flynt can continue..

(I'm assuming Aurelius is totally unaware of everything going on, correct?)

(Sorry, a busy weekend with relatives in town. Things are coming back to normal now, so hopefully I can keep this going a bit better!)  

(OOC - And yes, Aurelius is unaware of what is going on thus far.  Hopefully we'll get caught up with him shortly.) 

(And yes, Flynt does not really get much of an idea of what is happening on the other side as he is focused on what is happening closer at hand.) 

On Flynt's side:
A female voice comes from the brush, "I am not sure what you have done with my companions, but you best lay down your arms and surrender.  If what you say is true then Lady Leilatha can determine whether your benevolence warrants your life being spared."

You are able to spot the figure behind the cover of some brush in the direction of the voice.  You are stopped maybe 30 ft. away.  

On Yoë / Elyria's side:
Not seeming to believe Yoë, the satyr seems to be getting a bit impatient. "Enough of this.  Come with us now or we will have to force you to comply."  For a moment you can see Yoë's mind spinning.  She finally replies, "Ok? Leilatha is not going to like this though," she sighs.  She appears ready to follow the other satyr to the north. 

Aurelius picks the petals off a stray daisy, one by one.  "They all love me... they love me not... they all love me, of course they do!... they love me not... how could anyone not love me?!"

"Well suit yourself." Flynt replies with a shrug. "I'm sure the others will be fine taking all the credit."  Flynt turns back around and returns to the Lead Scout just as Short Bow gets to the bottom of the canyon.

Persuasion check to see if Flynt has convinced Sneaky Scout to follow.: 18

(OCC: In the interest of saving some time I took a little liberty with the scout actions but only because Flynt won't proceed with his plan unless one of them is in the canyon however that comes to be.)

IC:

Flynt calls out to Lead Scout as he quickens his pace, "Your friend doesn't want to join us. Looks like you'll get all the credit for this."

With the one scout at the bottom of the canyon and the other still at the top, Flynt's crossbow alerts him to the impending attack by the third scout in the brush. 

On the other side of the canyon, Yoë starts to walk compliantly to the north.  But as she makes her closest approach to Elyria, she suddenly pushes the scout and throws some sort of dust at him. With the scout surprised, the satyr woman makes a sprint off in the direction back towards the ambush point.  

(Initiative everyone.  Well, everyone but Aurelius.  6)

OCC: Flynt is about 30' from Sneaky Scout but how far is he from Lead Scout?

(OOC: You are close to the Lead Scout. I was thinking 5-10 ft. depending on if you wanted to stop further away.) 

Initiative Order:
20 - Satyr at bottom of rope
16 - Satyr near Flynt
13 - Flynt
12 - Hidden Satyr (Elyria's side)
10 - Satyr near Yoë 
9 - Elyria
5 - Yoë 
3 - Sneaky Satyr (Flynt's Side)

On the Elyria/Yoë side, the pair have surprise over the satyrs on that side. You get a turn, they don't. Flynt "knows" the Sneaky Satyr is going to attack, but has not done so yet.  No surprise on that side.  

ROUND 1

The Satyr below and the one near Flynt make no reaction.  The closest one says, "She must have continued farther along without us. I don't know why she wouldn't join us to go tell Lady Leilatha your good news."

Yoë quickly continues to run away from the satyr that was with her.  (DASH) 

(Flynt is up and Elyria can also go as there are no other turns to her side.) 

Still in hiding Elyria speaks the command word to call forth an air elemental from the small burning censer she is holding, commanding it to attack the satyr scout close to Yoë.

Air elemental Initiative: 10
Attacks for whenever the Air Elemental is up.
Slam 15 Damage: 10
Slam 17 Damage: 18

(Sorry, realized I didn't specify lighting the censer, but as I stated being ready to summon the elemental perhaps that could be seen as implied, otherwise I'll change this action of course :-)

As Betsy alerts Flynt to the danger behind him he takes the final steps that will put him next to the lead scout. "Yes it is unfortunate. I had hoped to wait a bit longer for this." Says Flynt as he gently takes the end of the rope from the scout. As soon as the rope end is in his hand Flynt says "Laqueum" and the magical rope attempts to entangle the scout. In one Smooth motion he draws and spins before firing 2 bolts towards the hidden scout.

Attack: 25 Damage: 8

Attack: 22 Damage: 10

OCC: Flynt uses his first action to activate the rope. Action surge allows him a second action which he uses to attack the hidden scout. His extra attack attribute gives him two shots and his sharpshooter feat lets him ignore distance and cover up to three quarters.
