Stormraider Keep (A M.E.T.A.L. Campaign)

Aurelius Stealth 14

The group does not appear to attract any attention as you make your way towards the Twigdown Falls. You can start to hear the roar of the falls in the distance as you are now following the banks of a river.  It is still some time before Sabynn's rendezvous.  

As you get closer you can see the falls drops into a bit of a pool from which the river you were following then flows from.  The trees and plants fill the area around the pool, though you can see numerous paths leading up to the water and little secluded spots where one could rest.  The falls itself drops over 30 feet from the ridge above.  There is a dazzling mist of water spraying forth as the water flows and splashes over numerous rocks jutting from the formation. 

"Alright, try to find somewhere to hide where you can see the falls. I will go and meet with Sabynn on my own to not scare her a way. If this turns out to be some kind of trap, try to cover me and I will hopefully make it out of there." Elyria says quitely, giving Rahkeshi a quick smile before heading closer to the water, moving cautiously, working together with Aelric above to spot any ambush.

Perception with help from Aelric: 13

Assuming no ambush is detected she finds a place to sit and wait for Sabynn, Aelric trying to spot threats from the treetops.

Flynt is going to use his insight to discern where the best ambush points might be. Then instead of taking position in one of them he will take cover near by and wait for an enemy to claim the spot.

Aurelius says to Yoë , "There's always a secret tunnel or chamber behind the waterfall, at least in the songs.  Why not check it out while I prepare for the rendezvous?"

Nobody seems to note any ambushes and Flynt finds one potential spot that seems it could make a good ambush spot on this side of the pond you are looking over.  He also locates another well-covered spot where you could observe that one.  Flynt moves to hide there. 

Yoë tilts her head, looking at Aurelius, "I've never heard of any secrets behind the waterfall.  People just just find a private spot for.. well... whatever they do here.  Enjoying the view mostly I'm sure!" She looks out across the pool to where the mists of water spray out. "I guess I could look though." 

Rahkeshi says, "I guess I will go with Yoë, if that's ok."  She gives Elyria a quick glance. "Since you want to meet with this Sabynn alone."  Presxina also says, "I'll go check out the waterfall too, and try to stay out of the way." (OOC - I'd kind of forgotten about the Harengon for a bit! Assume she came along with you from the hideout. Blink dogs are with you but keeping their distance as lookouts - unless you have a different task for them.) 

You still have maybe 30 minutes before then time Sabynn had indicated for meeting. If there is anything anyone else wants to do.  (The NPC are checking out the waterfall.  Flynt is hiding to keep an eye on a potential ambush spot.)

"Yes, you go ahead and do that." Elyria says and nods to Rahkeshi and Yoë. "I think it would be best if I did meet Sabynn alone, but I don't mind you all having eyes on me when the meeting goes down, you know, if anything should go awry." She smiles warmly to the half-orc before leaving for the meeting spot. She will then stay there awaiting Sabynn.

Aurelius nods and tries to find a concealed place with full view of Elyria's position.

Rahkeshi heads off with Yoë and Presxina, chatting with the two.  They approach the waterfall, following the paths to where they are soon out of sight amidst the foliage.  Flynt is set in his position and Aurelius choose a spot nearby to take cover and watch. 

Just before the appointed time you see Sabynn step out into the clearing where Elyria was waiting. None of you had noticed her approach.  And none of you notice anyone else about.  She comes close to Elyria, speaking in Common in a lowered voice. "Elyria, I kept trying to answer you, but you kept saying the same thing. I couldn't just stop and leave the others!" 

Elyria stands and smiles warmly at Sabynn. "I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you, just message you. Are you alone? Can we talk here?" She says with lowered voice, holding out her hands in a peaceful manner.

"Yes. It's just me. And as far as I can tell, nobody else is around here.  What was it you needed to talk about?" Sabynn asks. 

"Thank you for coming Sabynn, and for putting your trust in me. You were right when you confided in me your suspicions about Lady Sylmare back in Alvahollow. My teammates and I have discovered that Lady Sylmare and Lady Leilatha are both hags, or were in Lady Leilatha's case. We slew her earlier today, which may inadvertedly have helped your attack on her fortress. You shouldn't be fighting the satyrs though,  they have beeen tricked into serving Lady Leilatha just as you have been tricked by Lady Sylmare. Now we intend to deal with Lady Sylmare, hopefully without any unnecessary deaths. If you could help us get close to Lady Sylmare somehow we could end this nefarious deception before more innocent blood is spilt." Elyria says with soft but firm voice, smiling warmly at Sabynn as she finishes.

Sabynn listens quietly to what you have to say. "Hags?" she says, thinking it over. "I suppose that makes sense. Though I can't believe both Lady Leilatha and Lady Sylmare were such creatures? Wouldn't they have worked together? They were always fighting?"  

She shakes her head. "Regardless, you think you can just defeat Lady Sylmare? I... guess I could help you get close. But I'm not sure how much access I have right at the moment. I don't even know her exact location. I think she's traveling with the main Eladrin forces.  But Olcelle is the one that knows details."  She pauses, as though thinking over the situation. 

The others don't hear or see any signs of others, just Elyria and Sabynn. 

"Anything you can do to help us get closer to Lady Sylmare. We will take her down but the closer we get before we strike the less innocents will stand in our way Sabynn. If you could find out where she is and who she's with, if we can hit her while she travels back to Alvahollow perhaps?" Elyria suggests, smiling gratefully at the Eladrin. "I should try to get some rest now but as soon as tomorrow my team will be ready to strike." She says confidently.

Aurelius continues to be vigilant watching for Eladrin or other enemies that might be sneaking up on them.

Perception 5

Sabynn thinks a moment, "I'll do what I can. How do I contact you though?"  There is another pause. "I think Olcelle wants to help us.  She distrusts Lady Sylmare.  But she has such a sense of duty...  I just don't know."  She sighs. "I'll just try to get you info without telling her.  And I do think catching her going back to Alvahollow might be good. Though I've no idea how long until she does go back." 

After a moment she adds, "Is there some way to reveal her as a hag? Now THAT would help." 

Elyria listens to the Eladrin and nods. "Thank you Sabynn." She says with a warm smile. "My friends are nearby, is it okay if we bring them into the conversation, they might have good ideas on how we do this best." She asks Sabynn. If the Eladrin agrees, Elyria would, with the help of Aelric perhaps, try to quickly gather her friends to plan.

"Sure, why didn't they come in the first place? You were the one that wanted to talk with me," Sabynn says with a smile.  

Aelric quickly notifies Aurelius and Flynt. He hasn't quite found Rahkeshi, Yoë and Presxina. He had looked around the base of the falls and the area around. Perhaps they found a way behind the waterfall as Aurelius had ealier suggested? Aelric is not planning on flying through the water. 

"I was afraid you would feel threatened if I brought them all here. I'm sorry Sabynn." Elyria says, blushing slightly.

(Can Elyria call upon and send Sozi to get Rahkeshi, Yoë and Presxina? Otherwise she would go herself.)
