Looking for 4 players but will expand to 6 if apps are good.
ONLY rolled stats; reroll ones once.
It's all homebrew meaning my original story content and I will change up the monsters/traps etc.. but basic game rules/play apply per my interpretation.
This will be an active campaign meaning as the DM I will post/response multiple times a day EST through the weekdays but weekends will be less active. DM has the expectation ALL applicants can fulfil this obligation.
18+ age restriction; sorry kids this is an adult zone too.
Please this is a trope free zone. No dumb barbarians or klepto rogues. No 'my personality is ******* so I hate everyone or I'm a loner and won't work in a team'...
I am interested. I will roll in advance (below), but I have a few questions before I fully flesh a character. Will this be "an actual campaign", or simply something that could technically be a game in the Hunger Games? My question is whether the game starts and ends with this one fight, or will there be more to it? I don't really mind either way, but I want to know what I'm applying to. Can we expect to level up? Is all content allowed? What about UA (races, specifically)?
That's all my questions for now. Time to see rolls. Ability scores: 1813891515.
Backstory: Li's parents were kidnapped and enslaved by the warlord when he was a child. He escaped to the monastery, and was raised and trained there. When he came of age he confronted the warlord, who told him if he won the contest, then his parents would be freed.
Interested, but I have a question: in this world, how might warforged fit in? I’ve got a concept, but how exactly I tweak it depends on warforged presence in the world.

They exist as sentient life imbued by arcane or divine magic. I'd say they'd exist in communities of there own but were former servants of their 'organic' counterparts but have since gained rights and autonomy.

This is good. They'll be one large city supported by another smaller cities (almost indentured/tribute style) governance.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Outcast from his tribe due to being born with misshapen head and grotesque features, lived alone as a hermit in the forest. Captured by soldiers from the city who tried to force him to work in mines or manual labor, but he kept shape-changing to escape his bonds. Finally, he was given the opportunity to win his freedom by participating in the games.
Backstory: Sir Lionsmane was once a knight of some renown, but his once glorious name fell into dust over time, and soon he was a knight only in title. But that's not all, for Erryl found himself afflicted with a terrible disease, for which ordinary medicine has no cure: Leprosy. With no funds to support his cure via magical means, Sir Lionsmane decided to obtain them through the only means he knew how: Glorious and honorable combat, in the games. Victory would mean a cure and a long and happy life, while loss would only mean a hastening of the slow death that awaits him.
Physical Decription: Sir Lionsmane appears as a human of large height and build, but you can never be sure, as he never shows any of his body. His skin is completely covered by wrapped cloth, his clothes, armor, or a metal mask that entirely covers his face. He wields a large greatsword, which he wields with expertise.
Obadiah "Obie" Aldrick, formerly a Sgt. Aldrik in the 12th Company Irregulars. Recently discharged as part of something he's reluctant to talk about*. As a grizzled career military man, he found his skills didn't lend themselves much to civilian pursuits. Obie is in in his mid fifties, grizzled with short cropped salt and pepper hair. He's allowed the beard to grow in since leaving the military.
*Obie is an accomplished crossbowman, and helped train and field his unit's ranged fighters. The unit got put under new command, an incompetent noble's son, who promptly got folks hurt. A whole bunch of backroom negotiating later, and Obie takes the heat, while the noble's son gets 'promoted' out of his old unit, and one of the competent officers takes command. It was as good as he could do to keep his soldiers safe in the future, but it grinds at him that the twerp skated out of his responsibilities.
Backstory: Scrub’s older sister, Natalyn had enlisted in the military a few years before Scrub was old enough to join her. Tragically, she served under the incompetent noble’s son and had been grievously injured. She was medically discharged and warned Scrub not to enlist. Within three weeks of her return home, they were visited by three military “doctors”. When they left her room, Natalyn had died of “complications”. Scrub steeled himself to uncover the truth and avenge his sister. He enlisted and earned himself a place in his sister’s former unit, the 12th Company Irregulars. By the time he transferred, the incompetent noble had been promoted. He was a quick study in the arts of ranged fighting, but he wasn’t getting closer to the truth. His current Sergeant was good but the rumors were still circulating about a previous Sgt. Aldrik. Now he would be someone to meet. Who knows? Maybe he was asking too many questions. Maybe he was making someone uncomfortable. But last night he was kidnapped from his barracks and now he is here.

Leveling up, yes. Challenges are hard out the gate hence starting level 5.
All content is allowed. I own ZERO digital so if you want it it's gotta be free or owed on your character sheet.

Alright I'll give it a go if I won't be a drag on the team, just didn't want to be the weak spot that made us fail.
