Some soldiers stare at you in awe before they shake themselves off and join the battle.
If Dragon Slayer isn't a dragon any more then travel pace is 2 mile/ 3 mile /4 mile for slow/medium/fast. You may decide to heal up Thodor is he needs it. Decisions, decisions.
This isn't actually a signature, just something I copy and paste onto the bottom of all my posts. Or is it? Yep, it is. Or is it..? I’m a hobbit, and the master cranial imploder of the "Oops, I Accidently Destroyed Someone's Brain" cult. Extended sig. I'm actually in Limbo, it says I'm in Mechanus because that's where I get my WiFi from. Please don't tell the modrons, they're still angry from the 'Spawning Stone' fiasco. No connection to Dragonslayer8 other than knowing them in real life.
((OOC: Sorry for not making it *super* clear that this was meant to be a relatively easy encounter. Dragon busted out his 9th level haha. I was busy trying to let you show off how cool your abilities were. XD
I'll try to give more hints about the enemy's strength if you need it.))

((That's alright, it was fun to unleash awesome power upon a few undead.))

Marfyr doesn't choose to heal Theodor, preferring to let the clerics handle that. She is willing to travel as fast a pace as necessary, and will just be ready to press on as quickly as the more intelligent members of the party feel are necessary.

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Boots of speed might make the rest of the party fall behind, haha. Alright, let's go with medium speed of 3 miles. You slowly wander ahead and are able to heal up to 10 of your hit dice, casting any spells you have available. As you finish your hour, the captain suddenly stops with you as you notice something strange ahead. The area was overcast already, but there is magical darkness ahead up on a hill -- about 120 feet ahead. You hear flapping of wings all around you in the air, as the breeze drifts among the dying trees. If you were able to see through magical invisibility, you would know these are devilish imps, carrying bows and arrows of all sorts.
"There is no way we can fight here! Strange, haunted grounds. This must be the death knight's work." He gathers his men together to bolster morale. "I know some of you are scared of the dark, of the unknown. But I am sure the heroes will clear a path for us, like they did before!"
This second force was definitely more tricky and tough than the first force. What will the heroes do?

I can see through the darkness and I can see through illusionary disguises, so I'd guess I can see them. Initiative 18.

Yes, you got a short rest.
You don't have to roll for initiative immediately. Feel free to roleplay a little, build a small backstory, sneer at Team evil a little.
Turning toward Zi, Obsidian asks "How many of those imps are there, can you tell?"
OOC I will note that because of my alert feat, they will not get advantage against me.
"A lot."

OOC: Artificer's with flamethrowers love to fight crowds. A lot.
((But not so much if the crowd is resistant to fire damage, as these likely are.))

As dragonslayer squints closer he sees Glabrezu's hidden in the darkness, wearing small trinkets to let the darkness move with them. You haven't been noticed quite yet, but it'll be only a matter of time.

OOC I would go with either 2 or 3 miles.
Obsidian will cast cure wounds on Thodor: 9
