Pizazz's Beyond Annihilation

Vellynne smiles and says, "I do indeed."  She casts a quick spell and nothing happens. Her smile falls, "Or perhaps not." 

Zendrak rolls his eyes and after a moment says, "I have a way through. This should work against any magical field. Follow me." He focus' his energy, magic flowing around him. Strange sparkles seem to appear in the air and then vanish. He walks forward...and through the field! "Come, it is an anti-magic sphere, we may wish to remain within it until we see our foes." 

Just then, there are twin cracks of thunder that issue from the central chamber as whatever battle is there continues to rage. 

How does the group approach?

Kurik draws his sword to be ready as trouble seems to around.  He does hesitate for a moment though, unsure how the field will affect his partners.  "Bare with it but a moment," he says to seemingly no one but there seems to be an noticeable shiver that runs down his armor.  

"I'll pass through the sphere with you but I dare not stand in it a prolong period of time for... reasons," he tells Zebdrak.

Mal walks through the wall and then looks for some places to hide their approach as she shows them the way to get closer to what is going on.

Kari walks into the space around Zendrak, cautiously stepping toward the invisible barrier until she realizes that he must have passed through it already without smashing her face again. She is willing to follow Mal's directions and tries to follow her lead and be sneaky.

Vellynne casts a spell on herself, vanishing from view, while Zendrak allows those who wish to approach by stealth a bit of a lead as he slowly meanders behind them.  Though approaching from stealth seems like an easy feat at the moment. The blast of thunder, cracks of lightning, bright bursts and the roar of flames seem to erupt from all throughout the room as if some epic wizard battle were occurring. 

Kari and Mal sneak forward between two of the huge stone, tree like pillars that hold up the massive tower above, and glance through into the room.  Perhaps 40 feet through the pillars it opens up into a central chamber, centered by the 50 foot wide sphere you've seen from outside. The sphere sits on a squat metallic base, but rotates lazily as if the sphere were hovering just above its stand. The sphere is covered in arcane symbols and glitters with magic. The scene around the massive sphere is no less amazing. An epic battle is occurring. It's almost impossible to tell whom is fighting whom at this point, there are so many different creatures within a melee.  There is a group, just there, that many of you recognize as a contingent of Thayan's by their red robes lined with gold piping. There are what appear to be 2 Thayan warriors in black full plate, each with a red cape draped behind them. They stand on either side of two Thayan wizards, their bald heads covered in tattoo's, their red robes showing off their high ranking finery. Between them stands a taller figure, whose skeletal head is bone white with eyes of pinpricks of fire. The skeletal figure is robed in fine red robes and stands proudly between his flanking wizards and warriors. This group is flanked by two huge monstrosities. They are 25 feet tall creatures with no faces, and only a massive maw as a stomach. They appear to have leathery skin and each wield a sledgehammer whose head is as large as a person. 

A shadowy figure, that looks to be a Kenku, stands behind the sledgehammer creatures, though by his actions he is helping the Thayan's battle the two huge creatures.

Beyond them, there is the large sphere, on the other side which is a mass of intermingled figures. But that side of the room is cut in half by a glaringly bright, scintillating wall of rainbow color.  If there are creatures within the large sphere, you can't see them through the bright shining wall. But outside of it you see a man that looks to be part lion, with a golden mane and a big axe in his hands. Near him, another part-lion man, but this one with black fur and a black mane.  Near these two similar creatures is a tall looking half elf. Beyond him there appears to be an elemental made of whirling air hovering in the room.  There is also another of these sledgehammer creature, a bald human male wielding a staff, then you see a singular skull floating in the air with gemstone eyes.  In the air over there is an even weirder creature, some part goat, part owl, creature with claws and snowy white feathery wings flying around.  

All in all, the place is full of chaos and you're not sure what to make of it, except that everyone appears to be fighting everyone else. 

The golden lion, half-elf, and human are all glowing with holy energy, but the rainbow wall is so bright that the whole room is now brightly lit up and it's difficult to see their glowing auras.

Apologies, I forgot to put Mordekai on the map, he's up with Kurik and Zendrak.

 Kari looks around, not eager to join in. She says to Mal, trying not to be loud enough to draw attention from the combatants, Do you think that giant sphere is what we are looking for? It looks plenty magical from here. We might be able to get up to it while everyone is fighting.

"Maybe, though some sphere of destruction does not relate to some rainbow of color thing. Let's move back a bit and discuss with the rest. If need be we can wait till the fighting dies down and then attack whomever is left, after they have spent their magical arsenal and are hopefully low on health. At the moment I think we side on whomever is fighting the thayans, as their plans are never wrought with good intentions and we have dealt with them before." Mal says as she works her way back to the group.

"Theyans... why does that sounds familiar.  Oh, those the you and dad had med in the jungle with the puzzle cube things?  Must admit, I wasn't paying to much attention to that part," Kurik says when the others get back and describe the situation.

"Yes, at the start I was one of their guides but when the undead T-Rex started to attack they tried to just save themselves and I lost several friends. After that we encountered them several more times in the jungle and each time they were bound and determined to kill us, they failed obviously, and I was able to get some revenge on them. So whatever they are up to here, is probably not good for the rest of the world." Mal whispers back, "So what do we all want to do here, get into possibly better positions and watch the fight or just start attacking anyone and everything. I have a feeling anyone down there is not necessarily on the side of good."

More thunder, and a blast of lightning and some other strange energies continue to be exchanged in the room as Mal and Kari sneak backwards to the larger group and explain what they've seen. Zendrak strides past them without delay, "You have described Netheril mages, they battle over the Mythallar.  They are long over due to be fully destroyed! I shall not delay!" 

He strides past the group.  He holds out a hand and a massive two handed sword appears in it, sheathed in black crackling energy. He then takes the weight of it with both his hands while striding into the room.

Zendrak Initiative : 28

Kari reaches out a hand to stop him, but too late. Wait, you shouldn't just- gah, blasted gnome. Er person!

Initiative: 20

"Wait, which ones are the Netheril ones?" There were a lot of descriptions of a lot of different people and creatures, and Mordekai isn't entirely sure which Zendrak intends to destroy, but presumably Zendrak is about to make that abundantly clear. 

Initiative: 16

Kurik remains silent at the out burst.  He wasn't sure who they would strike but the battle was on.  He breathed deeply and strolled out with the others while light his sword on fire.  He whispered to himself and his passengers, "We walk with death today."

Mal sighs not really surprised about this outcome but hoping Badger's interloper would be smarter than that but then silently moves to a position where she can shoot the half-elf who is standing in front of the rainbow wall and shoots it with her crossbow, using her Pushing Attack when doing it.

 If any of those hits I will use a superiority die to add 5 to the first hit or 2 to the 2nd attack.

[OOC: And I swear to god, the Dice Gods really F'ing suck. So I might changed my attack depending on what happens as I doubt I go first.]

Kari watches as Zendrak strides into the room ahead of her, and glances around. He looks to his right and says, "You are no Netherese."  Then he looks to his left, from which direction a very bright scintillating glow is coming from, and says, "Ahhh...they must be within..."  He steps forward and vanishes in a blink as if he'd stepped into another plane of existence. 

Fierce fighting continues to the left and right. As Kari steps forward she sees the Thayans, two warriors, two wizards, and a Lich encased in a faintly shimmering bubble. A huge monstrosity with a hammer is attacking the wizard, while the two warriors slam their weapons into it. Each blow from the warrior swords seem to be filled with dark energy that lashes at the creature. 

To the left, there is a blindingly bright rainbow sphere. She can't see past it. Outside the sphere though, the golden lion creature is battling another of the huge hammer weilding creature, the lion's axe smashing into it over and over....while three one eyed purple things hop around glaring at everything. The weird flying owl goat is 45 feet up and circling overhead. The bald human with a staff is standing on the ground, and just nimbly dodges a hammer blow that shakes the ground.  A tall half-elf stands unassuming to one side intently watching the battle.  The lion, the human and the half-elf are all emanated an unearthly holy light.

Kari's turn!

Kari grips her glaive tightly. Where did he bloody go? I'm heading into the light after him! The rage is apparent in her question and she sprints forward with little hesitation, intent on getting into the rainbow bubble and prepared to defend herself when she gets there.

Bonus action: Rage, move 20 ft

Action: Ready and attack on anything in the rainbow bubble that attacks me

Movement: Move 30 feet, avoiding the half-elf and moving just into the edge of the rainbow bubble, possibly the other 10 feet if I see Zendrak and there's a clear path to get to him

Kari runs into the room of chaos, and determined, she flies into a rage and charges forward, past the half-elf, under the flying goat owl, and past an air elemental.  Blasts of magic come from the shadows on her right and slam into the goat owl as she runs and leaps at the wall.....

As she closes in on the wall, the bright scintillating light seems to pulse ever brighter...  (Kari, DC 20 Con Save or be blinded for 1 minute). 

Then she hits the wall headlong, and flames flash across her body.  (Kari, DC 20 Dex Save or take 34 fire damage, save for half.)

The blast of fire sends Kari reeling backwards from the wall, unable to penetrate the magical barrier.  Though, just for a moment, she saw all the colors of the rainbow and realizes that it was only the fire of the red layer that pushed her back.  She would need to push through all the other colors to try and breach this impossibly powerful barrier. 

They Thayan's continue to battle the huge hammer creature near them as Mordekai slips just into the room hot on Kari's heels.
