There is a sudden plume of bright fire that lights up the snowy pine forest momentarily in brilliant orange and yellow. The three creatures caught in the flame screech in pain as their flesh sizzles, though one managed to duck partially away. The sudden light causes horrid shadows to dance around the forest momentarily until the darkness returns.
The light also gives Mal the chance to see her targets clearly, and she looses two bolts at the lead Troll. The stick into the creature, the force of them almost bowling him over, but....the troll manages to stay on its feet. Meanwhile the flaming sword of Kurik's lights up, sending a flickering yellow glow around the group as he unleashes blasts of fiery sword slashes across the space. Two bounce off the lead trolls hard skin, the magic evaporating away in a puff, but one strikes well.
Kari turns and sees the large hairy trolls. The arrows and magics have barely cleared the air when she switches her grip on her glaive from balancing over her shoulder to a fighting stance. She bares her teeth and give a loud growl, in a much more intimidating and angry fashion than she did with Kurik, and bolts forward. Running with her knees high and snow flying around her legs she gets to just withing reach of the troll that seemed to dodge the worst of the fire, staying a bit to the side to allow clear shots from the others. She slashes at it twice then backs up just a few feet, shaking her weapon and giving a war yell in it's direction.
Bonus action: Rage, move 10 ft (20 ft movement) Instinctive Pounce: As part of the bonus action you take to enter your rage, you can move up to half your speed.
Movement: 10 or 15 ft, whichever puts me 10 ft from the troll and to the side of it (20 or 30 ft movement)
Action: Glaive +1 Attack: 18 Damage: 16
Extra Attack: Attack: 19 Damage: 7
2 Effects: 1) Ancestral Protectors: While raging, the first creature you hit with an attack on your turn has disadvantage on any attack that isn't against you, and when the target hits a creature other than you, that creature has resistance to the damage dealt by the attack. 2) Slasher Feat: You can reduce a creature's speed by 10 ft when you deal slashing damage. You also gain the ability to wound a creature on a critical hit.
Movement: 5 ft back and/or toward the group, putting me 15 ft from the troll. (10 ft movement, for 40 total ft)
If the troll moves within 10 ft of me then I will use the polearm master opportunity attack to swing at it again.
Opportunity attack: Attack: 22 Damage: 11
If that does not happen then I will be ready if a troll makes an attack that deals more than 20 damage on one of the other party members. I'll start humming a distracting tune and call out a [feature]Spirit Shield[/feature] around that person, reducing the damage by 11 (3d6)

Kari rushes forward through the snow, a deep growl issuing from her, snow sprays everywhere has her polearm flashes out through the darkness, slicing one of the trolls. Blood sprays across the snow coating it dark red...once...then twice. Then she backs up a bit. The trolls all charge her.
The one already bleeding steps up and the glaive flashes once more, more blood sprays across the powdery snow. Snow flakes swirl in the darkness lit only by the flames of Kurik's sword.
The first troll lunges at her, it's claws sweeping back and forth : Attack: 21 Damage: 9 + 9 cold damage, their entire bodies emanating a terrible chilling cold. Another slash: Attack: 24 Damage: 13 + 7 cold damage. Then it lunges at her trying to bite her Attack: 10 Damage: 7 + 7 cold damage.
The two other trolls are right behind that one, their claws and jaws snapping and biting and snapping as Kari is suddenly mobbed by the three creatures.
Claw Attack: 19 Damage: 12 + 14 cold damage. Another slash: Attack: 21 Damage: 12 + 8 cold damage. Then it tries to bite: Attack: 14 Damage: 5 + 10 cold damage.
Claw Attack: 22 Damage: 7 + 10 cold damage. Another slash: Attack: 8 Damage: 9 + 11 cold damage. Then it tries to bite: Attack: 12 Damage: 7 + 4 cold damage.
Blood and gore spray from Kari as the sharp claws strike her. Her flesh seems to crystallize where they strike, in the frigid cold....and moments later the snow around her is dark and melting, her body steaming from numerous wounds that are coated in a horrid frost. Still though, somehow she remains standing.

Kurik liked to prepare his strikes for full effect but Kari seemed to rush in. Her weapon whipping around and drawing blood before the three descended upon her. Though she seemed to weather that first onslaught well. Now, it was time to strike.
He holds the blade up by in front of his face and says, "Blade, we dance with death this night," and rushed forward as fast as his long strides would take him through the snow. As he does, shadowy figures of vague shifting humanoid forms fallow and swirl around him. Then when he has closed the distance he slashes out in an X pattern. The spirits frenzying about as he slashes.
Move up to the paralyzed one within reach
Bonus action: cast spirit shroud spell. Spirits surround me at a 10ft radius. Attacks deal an addition 2d8 radiant damage, any creature struck cannot gain health this round, and the 3 trolls have their speed reduced by 10 feet while within 10 feet of kurik

Kari was confident running in, this is what she does after all, but the situation got bad very quickly. She felt relief at the actions of the others, and her confidence came back. She swung twice more at the wounded trolls, and a third time with the butt of the staff,, then stepped back to give herself a little breathing room.
If the troll she first attacked is still up then the attacks will go to it. If it is down, or if the first hit brings it down, she will target the next one that looks the most wounded.
Movement: 20 ft out of the circle of trolls, in a direction that keeps me within 30 feet of Kurik if possible.
3 Effects: 1) Ancestral Protectors, while raging the first creature you hit on your turn has disadvantage on any attack that isn't against you, and when the creature hits a target other than you, that target has resistance to the damage dealt by the attack. 2) Slasher Feat, once per turn when you hit a creature with an attack that does slashing damage you can reduce the speed of that creature by 10 ft until the beginning of your next turn. 3) Slasher Feat, When you score a critical hit on a creature that does slashing damage you grievously wound it. Until the start of your next turn the creature has disadvantage on all it's attack rolls
Reaction: if a troll comes within 10 ft I will use Polearm Master opportunity attack, Attack: 20 Damage: 16 Slashing, 3 Rage damage
If not, I'll be ready to reduce any damage over 20 done to one of my companions by 13
Kurik leaps forward, his blade on fire, but also glowing sickly purple with necrotic energy, and slashes two times into one of the paralyzed trolls, that is still somehow standing. Two bolts from Mal hit as well, leaving the creature up but tottering.
Then Kari's glaive spins about. Her first strike hits the only non-paralyzed attacker who drops into the icy cold snow with a heavy thud. Snow puffs up and swirls about in the air. Her blade swings around, striking another of the paralyzed trolls. That troll also collapses to the ground in a thud, more snow spraying out to the sides. Then the butt of her staff comes around and slams heavily into the last troll. It's paralyzed, but lets out a heavy grunt all the same, but does not fall. She backs away her glaive dripping with bluish red blood from the horrific monsters.
Even as she does so, she sees the wounds from two of them are knitting up.
Hold Monster saves vs DC 17: 102
Both of the creatures that had fallen push themselves up and glance around. Seeing Kurik is now much closer than Kari, they turn his attention to him. Though one of them seems particularly preoccupied by Kari and his swings seem to come sluggish and awkward.
Though one of the creatures, begins stirring after a moment, shaking free from the spell, but unable to attack this round! (Oops)
First attacks from one, as normal:
Claw Attack: 24 Damage: 13 + 8 cold damage.
Then another claw Attack: 17 Damage: 14 + 9 cold damage.
Then a bite : Attack: 17 Damage: 7 + 9 cold damage
The second more sluggish one....attacks (these attacks you have resistance to Kurik, thanks to Kari):
Claw Attack: 11 Damage: 12 + 9 cold damage.
Then another claw Attack: 23 Damage: 8 + 12 cold damage.
Then a bite : Attack: 22 Damage: 9 + 9 cold damage
Mal's first bolt hits one that has just arisen, and it drops to the ground. Badger slings a fire bolt (with disadvantage actually, but either way you hit) and the body lights up, fire burning on its body as it smokes, unmoving.
Mal's 2nd bolt hits the 2nd moving one and it drops abruptly once again, though it does continue healing, but these creatures are defeated.
The group quickly finishes off the last couple of trolls, Badger or Kurik slicing or burning to finish them off and end their unnatural healing.
The smell of burnt fur and skin fills the air. The snow around is covered in death. Kari looks upon the trolls. These are ice trolls! She recalls from her tribe learning all about these cold hearted things. In fact, their hearts are remarkable. If you eat the fresh heart of an ice troll you gain regenerate for the next day! She doubts she'd even feel the cold with such powerful healing filling her body. Also though, she's seen her shaman use a ice troll heart to bury it in the ground under a foot or more of earth and snow. The heart melts away and summons a blizzard after about 10 minutes. Though, it's already pretty snowy, she's not sure she really wants to cause a blizzard right now. The hearts should be good for a few days, but not longer.

Kari helps dispatch the trolls by standing ready to slice into them if they get up before they are truly dead. She takes a breather after that for maybe 30 seconds while she thinks about the creatures, then she sets down her pack and shoves the pole of the glaive into the snow to stand upright while she takes a handaxe out of a belt loop. It's not really made for cutting, but she sets to work trying to rip open the chest of each troll. She pulls out the heart from each of them and wraps them up in a spare sack that she ties onto her backpack. These are very useful. You saw how they were healing up? Well if we eat one of these when they're fresh then we can do that too. Or you could bury it if you want a blizzard. Too bad it doesn't clear out a blizzard instead. She shivers as she finishes with the sack and pulls her cloak around her warm clothes a little tighter. Maybe we should move off a bit from the bodies before we camp? I wouldn't want to see what frozen thing comes to eat them.
"You believe eating such things gains one power? Hmm... well. I think that's a gray area. I'm all for not wasting a kill but a Troll?" Kurik says and stops and ponders.
He holds out his hand for her and then holds it up. "I guess I'll try anything once." He then brings the heart to his mouth and takes a mighty comp. He pulls it away from his mouth, the connective tissues stretching before snapping. "Little chewy" he says and he continues to chomp away.

Mal looks upon the two eating the hearts and just shakes her head, "Did you at least check it to see if it had worms, not that it really matters, but I am not sleeping near the two of you tonight." After checking the bodies for anything else that might be on their person, loot or notes Mal says, "We should move farther away from these creatures to rest the night."
Kurik turns off the flame on the sword, bends to clean the blade in the snow and re sheaths it. Then be washes his hands and faces. "Rest sounds fine and nothing says you need to sleep by me. Though, I produce alot of heat so your loss."
Oh, you want it now? I thought, in the morning... Here you go Kurik. Do either of you want one? Kari sees Badgers reaction Mal doesn't seem interested so she shrugs and ties the two remaining hearts in the sack back onto her pack. You don't have to decide just yet, but soon.
Kari will wait until everyone is ready and then look for a new camp site, if that's what everyone agrees to.
