Pizazz's Beyond Annihilation

The Gith stands up, his domineering voice loud and confident, and slams his hand on the table, "Report to the dragon? What nonsense is this?!  I am a Gish and you'll show me respect. Who assigned you to the Creche? What makes you think you report to the Wyrm and not the Creche commander?" 

Kari quickly rethinks how much in charge to act. She stops and loudly calls out "Halt!" standing in a straight backed military posture, hoping that the others will copy her. In response to the Gish (whatever that is) in front of her she says "Sir, I report to the creche commander sir! With the death of the younger one we were told to patrol on the next level in case the intruders return sir! Our report at the end of our patrol will be passed on to the wyrm through proper channels, but we were told this is of utmost urgency to the great one sir!"

The 'Gish' narrows his eyes at Kari. He looks down at his food, somewhat distracted but then glances back up at her and seems to decide something.  "You make no sense to me. Fall in, we're going to see the commander." 

He gives the other Gith at the table a head nod and the look up with unhappy eyes, then to their half eaten meals, and then sigh and get to their feet. One of them grabs what appears to be a pork foot from his plate and begins gnawing on it. Two of the soldiers stand next to the Gish, while two more stand aside in an apparent anticipation of following behind the group. 

The Gish walks towards the stairs, flanked by his soldiers, expecting the group to follow.  

Kari gives a small look and nod to her party and starts following the gith. Her party may notice her white-knuckled grip on the pole of her glaive as she heads off.

Mal sees her intent and is prepared to strike when the opportunity arises.

The group follows the Gish and his two soldiers up the stairs....trailed by the other two warriors who follow behind the group. The ten foot wide stairway reaches the top and a wide hallway turns to the right...and then meets what another heavy steel door.  The Gish pushes it open and there appears to be the back of a heavy curtain just there.  The Gish pushes it aside and moves into the room beyond...with everyone following.  This room is fairly large, about forty feet to a side.  Two beautiful tapestries hang on the walls, one in front of the door you'd just come in through, and another on the left wall. One tapestry depicts the dragon god Tiamat battling twelve storm giants. The other shows Tiamat battling a bearded and bloodied old man in wizard robes with seven golden canaries circling his head. Carved into the floor of the room is a stylized, 15-foot-diameter disk-shaped engraving of Tiamat, her five chromatic dragon heads spewing their deadly breath.  Red scales litter the floor.

There is a door on the far side of the room, a door on the left side of the room, and a long, twenty foot wide hallway that heads off to the right, also littered in scales. Sixty feet away it looks like it opens up into a large domed room, but continues on the far side for another good distance.  A young dragon lays leisurely in the room a short ways away, it's yellow eyes cracked open and watching in your direction. 

The Gish turns to the group, "Wait here, I will fetch Al’chaia."  He then makes for the far door.

(If you want to strike them, now might be an ok time, the trip up the stairs went pretty quickly.)

Mal quickly turns to her right bringing up her crossbow and aiming at the dragons face she fire several shots.

With the sureness of the most highly trained killers in the world Mal breaks ranks even as she lets loose her first bolt down the hall at the dragon. The heavy crossbow thuds into the beast that yelps in surprise. The next bolt from her crossbow hits in in an eye and it flinches back in pain. The Gith are already trying to respond, but she smoothly unleashes another bolt, this one finding a gap in the dragon's neck, and then a fourth bolt...in through the things open, upwards flinching maw...and directly into its brain. The massive beast flops backwards awkwardly...unmoving.

With a wicked grin on her face she twirls around and aims at the leader of the group of Gith that are "escorting" them to some leader or whatever and continues to fire.

Mal then spins, while everyone else is still reacting and sends a bolt over the shoulder of the Gish.....followed quickly by another that buries itself in her shoulder.  She grunts in surprise.

Grenk, Kari, you may both take your actions. 

Like all the others, Kurik stared at the dead dragon.  Then with back turned on the two guards by him, he utter the activation word and his sword bursts into fire.  He slowly turns around around, his Gith face unreadable, and he struck out at the two unsusspecting Gith.

Attack vs 1: 26 Damage: 7 + 7 fire + 4 necrotic

 Disaster, everything was becoming one giant disaster. The color in Kari's face drains as she sees the dragon in the room but quickly comes back in a rush when she sees the arrows that masterfully find all the weak spots. As her companions spring into action around her she feels her blood pumping and laughs as she turns to the soldier next to her and makes her attacks.

Action, attack the gith straight to the east of herself

Reaction - If Mordekai or Zendrak takes more than 20 damage Spirit Shield will reduce that by 7

Kurik's sword lights up, sending orange light waving about the room. He spins suddenly, swiping at each of the two warriors behind him scoring hits against both as they stumble back, grabbing at weapons, the blows causing them to clutch at the burning, black searing wounds. 

Kari, moving like his mirror spins the other way and swipes with her glaive. The first blow catches the Gith in the leg. She's already starting the up swing but the Gith's hurt leg causes him to fall forward and directly into the blow that goes up and through his neck.  He his flies from the body as both succumb to gravity and crash to the ground. 

Zendrak, who seems to have been biding his time, holds out a hand and the huge two handed weapon that he wields appears there. He grasps it with his other hand and attacks the other guard in front of him. 

Attack: 22 Damage: 14 + 11 fire damage.    Green flame leaps from that Gith onto the Gish. 22 fire damage.
