"what are your names spherical phosperent poltergeists?"
Ollezall served Hermitage in the groves of a forest sanctum. With his passive perception (15) and passive insight( 17) does Ollezall have any idea what these spectral puffs are? And does Ollezall see any malice past their jovial attitudes and (hilarious) prank on Syd?
Seemingly in response to Ollezall's question, a second set of lights emerges from another tree and slowly descends toward him, then begins to swirl around his body for several seconds. After that, it coalesces into a similar floating, ghostly, roughly humanoid shape. The laughter ceases and is replaced by more sing-song babbling in a language Ollezall doesn't understand.
(Ollezall can reasonably deduce that these manifestations are not creatures, but are the result of a simple spell. There is no perceptible malice in their actions.)
Mohdrak had followed the others to the arboretum. The greenery made for a welcome change from the confined structure of the manor. If he ignored the obviously magical orbs in what he presumed to be the sky, he could imagine he was actually walking in a well maintained forest glade. He might even position himself against a tree trunk and enjoy the shade. Yet there were several occurrences that kept him from doing so. One was a fit of laughter. Not that unusual but the minotaur had spent enough time with the others to know it was not one of them that laughed. The sudden outburst of their resident orc into a flight of fancy was the second omen that something was not up to snuff. The orc was many things but Mohdrak was reasonably sure giddy as a goat was not one of them. Finally the emergence of little dancing orbs of light sealed the deal that something was off, let alone that they seemed to speak in something tongue he did not understand.
Preparing for when push came to shove, Mohdrak cautiously took his morningstar in hand and lifted his shield to cover his left flank.
'What's happening?' He called out to Cerline who seemed to be in conversation with the lights. 'Can you understand this? Them?' He added a bit unsure. Most things went down after a good swing of his weapon but lights? He doubted he could affect those. But he did recall a theatre play he once saw that dealt with a similar situation.
'Tell them we come in peace.'
But for the life of him he could not remember how that play had ended...
OOC: Apologies for the infrequent posting. I'm preparing to move and due to tardiness from others, I've been forced to cram four weeks of prep and moving into two. I'll try to get back to being a more consistent party member.
After observing the second phosphorescent, glowing, humanoid blob engage with Ollezall, Mohdrak can hear the babbling song moving his way. Rather abruptly, Mohdrak then feels a slight weight descend upon his left horn. It now sounds as though the song is coming from right above his head.
(No worries, life can suck that way. As I hope I've made clear, even if you don't post that often, I always really appreciate the effort and quality of your posts! Best of luck with the move as well.)

Cerlinde perception 14. She also mentally urges her owl to see/hear what is going on…. Owl perception 15
”they are singing in draconic, they want us to join them in dancing. I think they are harmless but mischievous- they want to have fun.. Maybe we should play along. Bear with me- I feel inspired… .”. She then sings a silly rhyme in draconic back to them “Unseen friends- we are pleased- to meet you and see your trees, we are friendly, exploring this place- you can trust us and show your face. I am Cerlinde, here to seek long lost secrets- I am no freak! Secrets of Mighty Fistandia we want to find, to help our home and calm our mind. Tell us more of this wondrous home- with you as our guide we would love to roam!”
she laughs at her attempt at draconic poetry, And gives a little bow to the glowing figures. (Suspecting the figures are probably just illusions, and the real casters are nearby)
Cerlinde can perceive that the source of the singing was heading her way, but as she starts her own verses the first song stops and the humanoid arrangement of lights ceases its movement as well. It then seems to listen attentively as Cerlinde sings her own delightful rhyme. Having taken a bow, as Cerlinde rises she can see the glowing figure noiselessly clapping approvingly! The sound of giggling resumes, and then in Draconic, "Well met, elf lady! You are very entertaining with your song!" There is a pause, during which the lights comprising the humanoid drift apart again, finally vanishing as they reach the limits of the arboretum. As your attention is diverted by this, very abruptly you then hear, "BOO!", and a new figure appears, hovering directly in front of you.
"Oh, look, butterfly lizards.... butter... butter... Had goat-milk butter once, was strong and lumpy... wonder who is herding the goats back home... Bluebell was my favorite... Hey, there's some bluebells over there!...

Cerlinde attempts to identify the creature (I know what it is of course, let’s see if she does, assuming someone helps..)
27 arcana
(assuming that’s good enough..). “It’s a faerie dragon, they can be mischievous but are friendly, usually. I can speak with them in draconic. Syd will be ok, once the gas wears off. ”. She tells the others, looking at Syd with a smirk, then she turns to the tiny dragon-
in draconic: “Oh, a delightful Faerie Dragon, it is an honor to meet you! I once read that your kind enjoy treats- My friend here is quite the chef- we just had an amazing meal. We would love to learn more about this place.”
(Not sure that any of these folks would be able to help, maybe Dyumi, given that no one else speaks Draconic or Sylvan, but I'll give it to you even on the 14.)
Cerlinde has a sudden realization of what they're dealing with. The sight of this mirthful creature, combined with the behaviour and magic, means it could only be a faerie dragon. Fortunately, it's a young one, so its capacity for well-meaning mayhem is relatively limited.
(Sorry, victimized again by the overlapping edits/posts! To recap, one faerie dragon is visible and in conversation with Cerlinde, while the other is invisible and perched on Mohdrak's horn. Syd and Dyumi are merrily whirling about, although Syd's enchantment is just about at an end.)
The visible faerie dragon's eyes widen noticeably at Cerlinde's mention of treats. Continuing in Draconic, "The large bull man is a chef you say?! Doesn't look like any chef I've ever seen, but I am VERY interested in treats. May we join you for desserts, perhaps? I suppose you've dined with Cumin and Coriander, those bores. I imagine your chef's food was a step up at least! The only question is, do we get treats now, or keep dancing for a bit? Do you like to dance?" It cocks his little head inquisitively, bearing its pointy teeth with a mischievous grin as it floats in front of you.
'Mohdrak- they want dessert! I read once that faerie dragons love sweets. Maybe we can tempt them with some of your excellent cooking and get some friends. " she says, to her companions in common.
To the dragon, she says in draconic- "I like to dance, it has been a long time, I haven't been with my people in so long. I suppose I should dance with Syd, keep him out of harms way- and then after- dessert. Mohdrak here is an amazing chef, and yes, Cumin and Coriander helped. They were excited to have company here in this place. " Cerlinde takes some light steps around the plants, gracefully moving, with a big smile, and keeping Syd from crashing into anything.
Ollezall, there is no response to your statements in the various languages you know. The glowing humanoid blob in front of you starts to crudely mirror your movements, although it isn't doing a very good job.
The visible faerie dragon appears to be entertained by Cerlinde's dancing and it claps along to whatever silent, shared melody is running through both of their minds.
Mohdrak hears a slight groan and some muttering in his left ear, then feels the weight lift from his horn and hears the giggling resume. As the sound of the giggling moves away, Mohdrak sees a small, orange puff of gas appear around Cerlinde's head. Then a voice rings out in Draconic, "I want you to dance like the big green man!"

Cerlinde starts dancing with Syd (if that saving throw worked or not). If she can, she sings another funny song in draconic: “do you know where Fistandia went- or when she might show her face ? We also want the password to allow us to leave this place!”
she uses minor illusion to make the sound of elvish or fey music, to accompany her dance and song.
(Cerlinde is unaffected by the cloud and remains in control of her body.)
The visible faerie dragon shakes its little head and starts giggling, although it is clearly annoyed with its invisible counterpart. "Oh come now, was that really necessary?! This lovely dancing, singing elf is going to get us treats! Please forgive my friend here, they are a little less patient than I am for entertainment. I'm afraid we don't know anything about where the witch went and if we knew how to get out of here, we would have left long ago! The tiny winged creatures in the kitchen and the cats aren't much fun, I'm afraid. Your arrival is such a delight! Please stay and play with us!" The miniature dragon starts to flit about, seeming to dance with you.
While Cerlinde and the faerie dragon continue dancing, now around a snoozing Syd, Mohdrak hears a familiar giggle approaching, mixed with grumbling and some harrumphs. This is followed by a light weight descending on his right horn. It now feels like it's stomping its tiny feet to the rhythm of the magical song conjured by Cerlinde.
Cerlinde continues singing and dancing, and starts heading back towards the kitchen.
In Draconic she sings…“Yes- I’m going to get you something nice to eat! Let’s dance over to the kitchen for a treat! What is upstairs in this home? Is it a safe place for us to roam?”
she looks at her group and sings, in common… “we’re heading to the kitchen, Mohdrak can you whip up a treat? They probably don’t need much to eat! They don’t know the password, or where the wizards gone, but are willing to help if we play- we don’t need to dance till dawn.”
Syd rouses himself from his stupor, blinks rapidly and rubs his eyes. "Whoa... that was... very, very strange. Sorta the same as when I used to sneak a sip of Uncle Dinkledoor's moonshine, when he wasn't looking."
He then follows Cerlinde back to the kitchen. Along the way, he nods to Dyumi, "That was some pretty spry dancing for an old guy. So, what's your story? where ya from?"

"Faerie dragon, never see one of them before" speaking in both celestial and elvish, Ollezall will ask of they speak languages other than draconic.
"Cerlinde, ask them if they know where the masters went, or about he passphrase to re-open the portal".
"Flutterby gizzard..." Syd mumbles drowsily as the frenetic energy begins to dissipate, leaving him in need of a nap.
