Kolose is seen visibly whimpering as he struggles against even lantern light. Eventually, he gets the worst of it out, though there are still a few tears streaming down his face, and his eyes keep squinted. Not... Good.
"Whatever it is seems dangerous," he says, but that is more stating the obvious than an actual arcane observation.
While in dim light or darkness, you gain darkvision to 120ft.
While in bright light, your vision is limited to 10 ft, beyond which you can only perceive areas of bright light as white, dim light as grey, and darkness as black.
He looks at Gal warily, but stays his hand at the shadow elf's soothing tone. He turns to Stena, speaking in Dwarvish.
"You, surface dwarf, what's going on, what's the meaning of you barging in on me and my-- ", he halts his question, looking around in confusion. "Where is she? What have you done with my wife?!"
Kolose feels like he has a spell in his book to understand what is being said right now, but also realizes he doesn't want to take the long time to cast it. Which is why, almost instinctually, he calls on some deeper innate knowledge to make the action nigh instant, but a few mumbled words - Even though the words were not prepared this day.
(Casting Comprehend languages as ritual, but using the scribe feat to do it instantly.)
"We're here to use the lock on our way to Grackelstack (sp?). The mechanism is damaged so we came looking for the caretaker."
She looks at the drool on his face again,
"I honestly expected to find bodies. This place is falling apart, and you're the only one we found. Who knows how long you were bewitched by that orb."
Galingal looks around for a blanket, or sack, or something that can cover the sphere and get it off of the duegar's lap.

Stena shakes her head.
"What are the chances this fool has melted the hunk of lead duergar call a brain out of his head?"
There is a lap blanket folded nearby.
((Kolose's Sight has been updated on his sheet.))

Kolose is certainly retreating to the point that the light no longer burns his eyes. As much.
Kolose finds that once he steps outside the door and to the side, no longer in the bright lantern-light, that he feels much more comfortable.

Gal grabs the blanket and puts it over the sphere wrapping it up quickly and knocking it out of the deep dwarf's lap.
Galingal notices that Kolose's pupils are black pits in his eyes, no colored iris is visible.
The sphere, covered and knocked from the dwarf's grasp, thuds to the floor.
"Whaa-", he says in dwarvish, jerking up right startled, but seems disoriented.
He reaches for his waist.

"Easy," Galingal says to the duergar then gestures to the sphere wrapped in the blanket. "You were in trance."
Galingal keeps his hand on his rapier, ready to attack if the duergar makes an attempt on any of the group.

Galingal speaks before the duergar's hand grasps the hilt of the dagger at his side.

"Orb, what orb? I have to find her, then I'll open the lock. Grulda! Grulda!"
He pushes past Gal, his dagger still in its sheath, and seems to be looking and calling for someone.

"Idiot. She's not here. Just you and your orb. It's over there by the blanket."
She'll quickly translate,
"He's looking for his wife. Grulda. Says he doesn't know about that orb."
She'll walk after the Duergar.
