At first Galingal holds up, not wanting to get involved with some petty docks dispute. Last thing they need is to be answering questions when whatever passes for a city guard shows up to deal with this.
Then he considers that this could be the person they're looking for.
"Saltbaron?" Galingal says
What happens to their agreement if Saltbaron dies and they are still hanging on to the dagger.
He looks over at Stena and the others and opens his hands outwards, indicating he's not feeling strongly about this, one way or the other.
((Have we had a short rest at some point along the way?))
Petmailer nods to Galingal, saying "Yes, we should." His hands instinctively go to his bow, his hand reaching for an arrow, but he pauses, looking to Stena - feeling that she is their leader in this place, for better or worse.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Given the ambush earlier, I figure they'd either be watching invisible and find it not worth intervening, or they don't care that much for these parts in the first place."
His words come out unusually cold, and he soon shakes his head a bit as he seemingly recovers from his "outburst". He must just be upset that these sava- people, haven't a single book anywhere on display.
The duergar being attacked manages to fend off the blows, the attacks spinning him around, to where his eyes land on you all.
"Quick, I've got them distracted!," he calls out to you, "They're right where we want them!"
One of the hooded and masked attackers glances over and sees you all, an angry female duergar leading a menagerie of other folks. They mutter something to their companion, turning their focus back to the merchant.

Stena watches the fighting duergar disdainfully.
"Animals."
She shifts her gaze to the drow fool encouraging they get involved.
"No. Let them fight. We join, we get blamed."
She does concede, graciously,
"Yell for guards if you're that concerned."
Kolose mutters softly.
