Kolose complains for one faint moment about how the stairs down feel a bit excessive, but seems to light up a bit when they get down to... Pleasant is still not the right word, and some of the lights still hurt his vision, but it's actually much better than the outside and he seems to relax a bit. Although he remains a bit awkward with the mingling, it doesn't seem like he wants to cause trouble. Perhaps he will simply spend some time trying to go through his book again.
"I really should find some more writing material..."
Galingal marks the drow in his memory just. He looks harmless enough but if he sees him again, outside the inn, he'll be worth taking a closer look at.
With that done, he goes over to Therez, the friendly innkeeper and does his best to practice a mix of undercommon and common, neither of which he's particularly great at speaking.
"Thank you for letting us in. Do you know," and here Galingal gestures at all of the main room, "if any here are traders or guides from the surface world?"
"More every time you look must mean business is doing well, even if they do wander. Singles are eight silver a night, doubles are ten, triples and ones that sleep four are fifteen, and the Flop is seven copper a head."
"Mercy", she says indicating the tiefling, "was born there, but she's been down here for years. Think the dragonborn is from there though."

Petmailer walks over to the drow and sits down at the table, calling over a waiter for a drink. “Whatcha havin? Anything good here?” He straightens his gear and puffs out his chest, looking over at the drow, giving him the side eye and giving him a smile, striking up casual conversation.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The dragonborn looks up from their bowl, lowering the spoon to the table and downing their mug of ale. They set it down and tap the rim meaningfully before turning back to their stew.

Galingal nods, goes to the bar and grabs a couple of mugs of ale and returns to the dragonborn's table. As he sits down he pushes one of the mugs across the table to the dragonborn.
"We looking for guide out of Underdark to surface," Galingal begins. "Hear you not from Underdark. Maybe you guide."
The dragonborn lifts the mug in thanks before taking a sip and setting it down. "Grilzzakck.", he states his name, raising a brow ridge and pausing for Galingal to introduce himself.
"Not a guide, but not from here. Not welcome in clan anymore, I find my way here. Dark, but good."he flashes a toothy grin.
"You looking to go to surface? Maybe find traders that go to surface?"

"The surface to start, yes," Galingal says in response, not seeing the need to explain that he would just as easily cross back to the Shadowfell if that was an option. But he's still not sure what he would do if he did find himself back with the other soldiers of the Queen. He gestures at the other guests in the great room. "Any here traders?"
Petmailer looks at the quiet drow and wonders if he has offended him somehow, he looks back over his shoulder for his companions, shrugging his shoulders.

Jimjar weighs in when Stena asks, "Cheaper is perhaps better for now, saves coin and if we need the security of our own rooms later, we can always pay for them."
"Flop sounds fine!", a smiling Neth says. Lia and the goblins shrug their agreement.
The drow looks at Petmailer blearily, one eye focusing on him as the other struggles to do so, before eventually finding him. He gives a hiccup. "S'wine. You here te'h 'rrest me?" he slurs in Elvish.

As the dragonborn and Petmailer's drow don't appear to be too talkative anymore, Galingal looks around at the remaining patrons, trying to size up one that might be a trader of some sort.
He remembers the barkeep mentioned the tiefling; Mercy?. He nods his thanks to the dragonborn for the limited information he provided and heads towards the tiefling. Before going he catches a server or the barkeep and asks for another drink of whatever Mercy is having and bringing that as an opening peace offering.
"Mind if join you?" Galingal says, proffering the drink. "Trying to find merchant traders who go back to surface world regular."
((Sorry Gal, had limited time, so was trying to make sure I had something for the others!))
"You looking for traders, maybe blue elf. Old tiefling think trade, she say something like that.", the dragonborn calls out as Galingal departs.
He spends four copper on the thick beverage that the tiefling seems to prefer and places it before her. Her knitting needles slow their clacking. While her hands are crooked and arthritic looking, her voice is strong and sure. "The wares I ply are less... tangible in nature. Tell me, are looking for a specific merchant who frequents the surface?"
The hostess looks around, and noting no non-duergar eyes on her, lets her customer service façade drop a bit. "If there were, I'd be among the last to hear about it. I'm at this post for at least another four months. Have you been there?" her voice has the excited sound of someone who has dreamed of going on a surface raid, and is envious of those who have.

Galingal nods his thanks and decides to start with the green dragonborn.
He approaches their table and says in common "Can I join you? I'd like to ask a question."
Petmailer walks over to the drow and sits down at the table, calling over a waiter for a drink. “Whatcha havin? Anything good here?” He straightens his gear and puffs out his chest, looking over at the drow, giving him the side eye and giving him a smile, striking up casual conversation.

Stena nods in understanding and commiseration.
"I'll check, but it will probably be flop."
She'll check in with Jimjar, the goblins, the old guy, Neth and Lia giving the prices and saying,
"Aye'd suggest Flop with a watch."

She takes a deep breath and concludes with,
"Flop for me."
She pays the coin.
(6 silver and 3 copper, right?)
He sweeps the coin off the counter and counts them out. "Enjoy. If you need food, talk to one of the servers."
