"One more oddity for the menagerie, eh? Maybe we can start a carnival and charge folks to watch us do tricks...", she says with a grin. "I'll consider it, about time I was moving on, anyway."
You don't get the sense that she's playing you false, she seems to be pretty straightforward, but you're not quite sure about the tattoos.
She sees you glance at them, however.
"Okay... I'm sure you're wondering same as me, but we're both being polite, so I'll ask my question, and you ask yours, yeah? And if I read it wrong, sorry for being so forward, but what kind of elf are you? Don't think I've seen your sort on the surface, and you speak Common perfectly understandably, but I would guess it's not your first tongue... but you're not like any drow I've seen, unless that's all just hair dye and makeup..."
((She rolled a 19 Insight on Galingal.))
Stena keeps a wary eye on things back at the table, as Jimjar sends through the link, <Think I'm going to mingle a bit, see what I can shake loose in terms of rumors and the like. Shuushar, if you're up to talking to folks, perhaps you could see what you can find out too? I'd bet you I can find better info than you, but I know you're not the betting sort. If anyone else cares to place a wager on my intelligence gathering versus Shuushar's however... or Galingal's... though I'm not sure if he's hunting for information or a place to spend the night...>

Galingal looks the ogrillon in the eyes, trying to decide if there is any harm in sharing more information. Her being an outcast from most communities is something he is beginning to understand based on where he finds himself.
He looks back at the group and while he does not consider them his people and many still look at him with suspicion, he does not bear any animosity to some of them.
He turns back and nods.
”A long time ago my kind were elves. But millennia of service to the Raven Queen has changed the shadar-kai. This realm is no longer our home. But maybe it should be. Maybe we should leave the long shadows the Queen casts. Maybe in time.”
He goes silent for a few moments but then nods at the faded tattoos and raises an eyebrow.
"Huh. Well, for my part, assuming the question is 'what's your deal', I'm half ogre and half goliath. The markings are from my da's side. Mum thought I was too tiny and she was gonna break me when I was born, so left me for my goliath kin to raise... stayed with my da until I got bigger than him, them went to stay with mum. That worked until it didn't, then I've been on my own since, but wandered down here looking for that change of scenery, and I found it."

Galingal looks around the room their in and then up at the ceiling.
"This is different," Galingal says. He doesn't know why but he doesn't want to just leave the ogrillon to whatever is about to happen here. "But is unpleasant. Find somewhere better. We could use your help if you ready leave when we do."
He looks over at Stena.
"That one will not like you. But she likes no one. So okay."
"You spot our friend up there too? First night I was here, a trogoldyte started a fight... should have seen the kuo-toa drop to the floor as soon as he threw a fist! He was mighty surprised, to say the least, the look on his face as he went - zoop! Not sure it could haul me up there, but the locals seem pretty protective of the Beer Room's enforcer, they might send me up in pieces if I got on their wrong side!"
She doesn't seem overly concerned at the idea, nor of Stena's dislike, as she gives a shrug.
"I'm used to not being liked. Most folks either keep it to themselves, or end up trying to make a point of telling me they don't like me, it always sorts itself out in the end."
She kicks a pack under the table.
"Got all my stuff ready to go whenever I decide to move on, been eating and sleeping here. They don't charge, and I know that no one's going to try anything while I'm sleeping. Best sleep I've had in weeks, roaming the Underdark solo doesn't make for good rest. You give the word, I'm ready to leave."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thom would recall what was told to him and respond to the Prince <uh. Yeah mate I suppose you're right it is a bit vague yeah? But hey, better than a kick in the pants mate. I can't wait to get back home. Er, also to help you find your way back, my royalty.>
What Ploopp has so far said:
Afterward, the Sea Mother will grant you whatever aid you need in returning your Prince to the surface. No one knows the Darklake like a kuo-toa guide, we can get you to Gracklstugh, or to Blingdenstone by way of Mantol Derith, you should find people there who know routes to the surface. Though surely your drow knows a way from Menzoberranzan, we can help get you there too.
<dammit, I lost the sucker. Anyone else see where that thing went up in the rafters mates?> and he drinks his seemingly watered down beer a bit faster.
Perception to see where that sucker went 23
<Lia, you like the beer, mate? Seems a little... watery.>
Thom had been picturing pints of dark ale, malty and rich, with foam floating on top that gets caught on the upper lip... This is pretty far from that.
<Reminds me of a joke! How is fish folk beer like making love in a zurhkwood canoe?>, quips Buppido.
Galingal nods and turns to head back to the group. But he stops, cocks his head and turns back to Ugglukja. He looks down at his hand for the briefest moment and then extends it to Ugglukja to shake. He nods again and turns back to the group.
From the band of odds and ends that have become their party, Galingal has come to acknowledge that appearances can be deceiving as not everyone is as they seem. Coming across an Ogrillon back in Letherna would have led to battle almost immediately. Seeing Dendril in his current shape would have led to the same. But some how, here, they might be fellow warriors. There was much to think about.
But, he still needed what the Queen offered. And he needed more of it if he was to keep living down here. And he'd need as much of it as he could get if he was to ever truly be free of her.
When he gets back to the table, he nods back to Ugglukja.
"She could help. Strong and no connections here."
He then starts scratching a feint image out on the table.
He looks at Thom, Lia and Stena, trying to decide how to ask this. He's not sure if Thom or Lia would be able to do it without becoming upset. But Stena could.
"I need this put on my face. Here." he says touching his cheek. "Permanent. Cut. Cut into skin. Will you?"
@DM
Galingal needs a holy symbol but knows the Raven Queen will require sacrifice to imbue it with any power. The thinking is that disfiguring himself will give her that sacrifice, along with a night of meditation to her. Reasonable?
You know she can be capricious and prideful, and think that such a show of devotion and commitment should appeal to her. For a casual worshiper (if such a creature exists), it may not be enough to allow her power to enter into you, but her power has already worn grooves in you, carving those grooves a bit deeper may be enough to turn a trickle into a torrent you can direct where you will.
You are at least confident that she would not take a sacrifice like what you're proposing amiss, worst case it isn't enough to budge her attentions.
If she's aware of your desires to pull away from her, she'd probably get some sort of delight in you willingly giving her another tie to bind you.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. He wants to be free of her and someday free the other shadar kai, but to do that he needs the power he gets from her to get strong enough. Bit of a dilemma for him.
Stena keeps her gaze roving between the door, the Drow, the duergar and the ceiling while eating.
He pauses on Gal and his chat a few times but doesn't linger.
