"Oh, don´t you worry Tresvar, you´ll get your fair share of goblins down here."Serena answers smiling and begins to investigate the room. Investigation: 23 Unless she finds anything of interest she turns to Tresvar again. "Pick a door dragon lady."
Investigation reveals that the four goblins have been dead for quite a while, and rats have gnawed at them. The bodies have been looted. The body pinned against the wall gives you some difficulty in checking it as the spear limits its movement.
Serena takes a look at the spear pinning the goblin, trying to figure out if it could have belonged to any of the adventurers they are looking for. She then pulls it out to better search the goblin body.
"Hey, Ashardalon, wasn´t that the old dragon that used to hang out here. Hope he hasn´t come back as a dracolich or something, hehe." Serena says, laughing a bit nervously at the end, ready to move on.
“Almost certainly not. Ashardalon was supposed to be one of the greatest, cruelest dragons. The ashen plains are a monument to its power and cruelty. If such a monster had returned, I doubt it would be content to languish at the bottom of some forgotten temple to itself… the whole coast would be in flames.”
”But it does seem someone paid these goblins a visit. I suspect diplomacy is likely off the table given how things went with their last guests…”.

Livia follows last. Everyone seem used to this type of place, immediately knowing what to do. She observes and tries to learn from them, looking around for... anything dangerous, as the others do.
The door to the left opens with a little force, the wood squeaking against the frame. The party enters cautiously, taking in this long unused hall. The masonry walls of this twenty-foot-wide hall are in poor repair. The far end has collapsed, filling the southern section with rubble. The western wall is in much better shape than the other walls, and it holds a stone door with a rearing dragon carved in relief on it. The door has a single keyhole, situated in the rearing dragon’s open mouth.
"Good thinking Tresvar. I might be able to help with that. Picked up some lock picking skills when I used to liberate wealth for the poor people of Neverwinter" Serena says, cautiously approaching the stone door taking care to not stand in front of the key hole should it ´breath´ fire or, hehe, anything. "Hm, can someone lend me an eye on this?" She adds as she starts examining the door.
Investigation to determine if door is trapped and/or locked: 20 rolled with advantage if someone lends an eye, otherwise go with first roll.
While the others work on the door, Banjo will examine the rest of the room, rubble and all, to see if there are any signs of recent intrusion, such as the young adventurers they are looking for.
”You know, having never been inside a ‘dungeon’ before… this really isn’t so bad. As a gnome, this is actually some pretty fine real estate. Obviously it is in need of extensive updates and modifications, new furniture, some textiles to warm up the ambiance… maybe some tapestries… but this place is actually rather nice.”

"Didn´t take you for a home interior decorator Banjo, but I´m glad you´re enjoying yourself." Serena comments smiling, while inspecting the dragon lock.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Serena finds the door to be very solidly locked.

While Banjo looks about the room, he approaches the rubble on the south side of the room. Suddenly he see a stirring in the rubble of another Giant Rat attempting to hide in ambush.
“Someone beat us to these ones”’Tresvar says, with a note of disappointment in her voice.

As Serena removes the spear the body slumps to reveal runes on the wall behind it.
Serena and Tresvar can read the runes:
The runes are Draconic and read as “Ashardalon.”
