Triäsa looks to where the movement came from but notices nothing. The campsite goes quiet for just a moment until she hears the unmistakable twang of a crossbow bolt being released.
Surprise Attack: 23 Damage: 7
From the shadows emerges a strange human rat hybrid holding a light crossbow and flanked in front of him three of the largest rats you have ever seen. There is nothing but death and greed in their eyes.
(Oh man this could be a bit of trouble. Good luck!)
The three rats rush forward toward the only awake member of the party, Triäsa. They are not quiet at all and so the noise and chaos wakes the rest of the party up. The rat man sees only one person who looks like she can fight and fires two crossbow bolts at Daventry.
@Triäsa
Rat 1 Attack: 5 Rat 1 Damage: 4
Rat 2 Attack: 10 Rat 2 Damage: 3

Crossbow attack 1 21 Crossbow Damage 1 3
Crossbow attack 2 17 Crossbow Damage 2 4
I forgot that rat man would have disadvantage for Daventry being prone so I added a second roll. Unless Daventry sleeps standing up :)
As the first bolt sails toward the camp, Daventry jerks awake. As the first bolt sails towards her, she raises her empty shield hand (she didn't have time to properly don her round shield from the ambush) and instead an arc of magic transits across her back and down to her left hand, forming a blast of purplish-blue energy that shatters the bolt midair. She holds the magic and the second bolt deflects harmlessly away.
She sprints to Triäsa's aid, drawing her rapier. "Triäsa, try and get back, and I'll hold them off!" She quickly strikes at one of the rats, energy trailing the blade. She then sets her feet in a defensive posture, keeping an eye on the archer while she sizes up the rats, ready to strike if any make a move once the bard's escaped close quarters.
Reaction: Shield (edit: no damage! yay disadvantage)
Triäsa manages to just barely flinch out of the way of the unexpected crossbow bolt. And then somehow avoids the attacks of the three large rats. "Help!" she calls out, likely after everyone has already been alerted by the commotion. "We are being attacked!"

"GAH." Ludolf jolts up from his bedroll turning from one nightmare to another. Seeing the wererat and it's minions attack Triäsa he scrambles to get in front of her, swiftly cursing the wererat and then blasting it with his piercing gray eyes on his way there. "Yes get back Triäsa." He urges the half-elven bard. Bonus action: Hex vs Wererat dex Eldritch blast: 16 Force: 6 Necrotic: 3 Move: Stand and move close to Triäsa
(Everyone else goes before me, but my action shouldn't affect them.)
Triäsa heeds the instructions from the others and retreats back as much as she can from the rat creatures. She draws her crossbow in preparation. "You really should drop back as well Ludolf."
Pardot, hearing the action commence quickly looks around and sees the rats around. Looking up to the stars ((this was a night ambush right?)) he raises his shield as it suddenly begins to glow as stars forming the Archer. As his shield begins to glow a star arrow flies from it towards one of the rats, and at the same time he raises his hand towards the stars as a bolt of star energy lances from his hands towards the rat-person.
Action: [Tooltip Not Found] Attack: 10 Damage: 18 - this may give advantage to whomever is after Pardot bonus action: star bolt: Attack: 13 Damage: 10
Daventry springs into action but still a bit confused in the chaos her strike on the rat goes wide. Ludolf's eldritch blast flies through the air striking the wererat squarely in the chest. He hisses angerly as his coarse fur is singed. Klin's short sword strikes one of the giant rats a font of blood erupts from it's side but it's misery is quickly ended when Parod's star arrow strikes it down. Unfortunately his guiding bolt misses the wererat harmlessly illuminating the night sky.
Round 2
The wererat levels his cross bow at Pardot who killed one of his beloved and fires two arrows in succession

Ludolf winces as the enormous rat bites into his leg. He reflexively uses his mind over matter to shove the rat away from him (str save dc 15) He then staggers back towards Triäsa. (Provoking an attack of opportunity unless shove succeeds or Klin kills it off on his initiative) He then blasts the wererat again with his piercing gray eyes. Eldritch blast: 25 Force: 14 Necrotic: 4

Distracted by Ludolf recklessly rushing close, Daventry barely dodges out of the way of one of the rats as it bites at her, the creature leaving a gash on her leg, her feint unsuccessful.
She attempts to skewer that rat in retaliation, anger in her eyes.
Move: If Rat 1 dies, move to Rat 2. If Rat 1 still alive, shift around in its reach to be closer to Rat 2 so it would hopefully provoke an AoO if it rushes for Ludolf or the others.

Taking the crossbow bolts to the side Pardot goes to a knee but looks to the stars and gains strength from their presence alone. He calls down another bolt from the heavens, holding little back while holding in the pain, as well as shooting another bolt from his shield.
Action: guiding bolt Attack: 8 Damage: 15 - this may give advantage to whomever is after Pardot bonus action: star bolt: Attack: 20 Damage: 7 both attacks at the rat man this time, not worried about the rats.
Also, just to check… We haven’t arrived in town yet correct? Meaning Pardot’s armor is not finished right? In which case both hit. If he has finished it the first would miss
edit. I just realized that advantage might go to me if it hits for my second attack. So if needed: 16.
Triäsa takes a moment to survey what is happening and drops her crossbow to grab her lute. She strums a few notes as she sings to cast Sleep.
'Alluring sweet music Filling your mind. In sleep's gentle magic now you're consigned.'
She targets a point behind the wererat with the crossbow, such that the creature is still within the 20 ft. radius of the spell. If possible to get the large rat that Ludolf pushed back without getting other party members in range she will adjust for that. (OOC - I hope that makes sense!)
Ludolf hears Triäsa's voice, singing, making him calm and tranquil, bringing a smile to his face as the battle raging around him seems to move in slow motion.

The large rat and wererat's eyes glaze over. The giant rat immediately falls asleep. The wererat sways and struggles as he lifts his crossbow.... and falls backwards sound asleep.
The last giant rat oblivious to the events behind him tries to take a chunk out of Daventry
Triäsa keeps a close eye out once she sees the movement. She remains still as she tries to determine what it might have been.
