He turned to Bzec and stated, "So no one here is really a new competitor, nor are they veterans? Great." After hearing this and making his statement, he seemed to become less tense and more carefree around them. He, of course, was still on edge about everyone else in the bar.

Darius had leaned back in his chair. He hadn't responded to Kirsolite's greeting, but instead had silently looked the dragonborn up and down. His eyes stayed riveted to the new potential opponent as he took a long swig of ale, then set his mug down. "So, what's your thing?" he finally asked, blunt and direct. "The sword says a lot; but you'd have already told us if you were a paladin. They can't wait to tell everyone they meet."
He watched him carefully. "Got any special tricks or magic on ya, then, or do you just pick a target and hack it to pieces?" He took another drag from his mug, still watching the fighter, as he waited for a response.
"Hm? Oh, yeah. I'm no Paladin.I don't have any special tricks, nor do I use magic, and the probability of me being able to use magic is slim, but not zero." He looked at the human with great detail, inspecting his armor, weapon choice, and any personality he'd given him. "I could say the same for you though, little Fighter, for it seems we're on equal terms. At least, that is prefered." He took another look at his blade, and asked the question that was gnawing at him, "Say, friend. What kind of battle reputation ya got on ya? Champion of a city's Arena? Slayer of Beasts?"

Despite the broad smile he responded with, the pirate's face betrayed a mind straddling the line between slight annoyance and growing curiosity. "I'm no champion," he began, "but I've killed my fair share of men. And elves. And dwarves. Etcetera." He over-enunciated the last word, as if he were unfamiliar with it and trying to be clever.
"Don't think I've killed a dragonborn yet though," he added in a low, casual tone as he picked his ale back up, eyes still fixed on the newcomer. "Not that you look like a guy who needs it, or anything. Just sayin'." He smirked as he brought his mug up to his face, peering over it. "Guess you're trying to make a name for yourself though, eh?"
His slurp, long and loud, seemed almost practiced.
The Dragonborn took a very long look over the pirate's smug grin, and spoke just four words: "Don't. Get. Joking. Pirate." He purposefully spat the word 'Pirate' at him, also trying to over-enunciate his own profession to him. A singular spark of deep blue lightning coursed across his held-back teeth. "I've fought my own few counted battles, thief, so don't think I'd give up so easily. I've fought Champions in arenas, and slayed many a beast. You may think that I'm just another target, but I'm not." Another bolt crossed his teeth once more. "So if you think I'm some kind of easy picking off the table, you'd be wrong. Pirate." Once again, he spat the word at him. Then he himself started to lean back, proud of himself for holding back at least some of his outrageous anger.

Kirsolite walks into the Bar at the Academy and sits down next to the one who'd just arrived as well."Hello," he says with a hidden smile. "Are you new here as well?"
Eldin takes the bottle of apple juice from the Bartender and responds with a weak smile, "New? Me? No... I just haven't come here in the academy for a good while."
(OOC: Probably anybody that wants to. Similar to like with the matches. Although with less a preference for the more veteran players taking point.)
((OOC: If that's the case I can try and run the shopkeepers and the bartenders here. I believe the shops all sell the normal goods for about the same price listed in the PHB))
Darius smiled broadly again, although this time there was actual mirth behind it. "That's good," he said, setting his mug down. "Wouldn't exactly want an easy target on my team, after all."
"Name's Darius." That was it. He didn't offer his hand, although he did give the dragonborn the courtesy of looking away to scout the rest of the room while he slowly worked his ale.
Kirsolite stopped leaning back on his chair and simply said, "Pleasure to meet ya, Darius." He raised his hand with the thumb, index, and middle fingers up, while the others were put down. A small draconic sign was visible on his armored palm. "It seems I've found someone who's challenging in both conversationalism and battle. May our Might forever be seen by all," he said with a great, big grin towards Darius. He put his hand down and awaited anyone else to speak up.

Kirsolite looks over at him and waves. "Greetings! Come, take a seat." He grabs a nearby, unused chair and places it next to him, gesturing him to sit down. "Just come back from battle? How'd it go?" He seems interested in what happened during the battle, as if he wanted to be there with him.

Fenkas's stoic expression breaks as soon as he exits the Coliseum and his fury at himself for his complacency almost leads him to break his broom. He thinks to himself that perhaps if he hadn't been distracted flying around on that useless and slow contraption, that he might have been able to train and win this fight. Holding his emotions in check, he sighs and heads off to Roondra's where he spends a bit of money gambling, and eventually, managing to get lucky, he wins a token! Going back to the Coliseum, he trades the token and the spell scroll he won from his first fight for a cloak of his ancestors that might improve his ability to hide in future fights. After that, he heads to the tavern to get a drink.
