"Ahh, well, that is best. To start early and with clear heads seems a solid plan. The Travelers Inn is next door (#14). I will wish you a good night, and may Helm watch over your steps."
"Bart, be so kind as to pay for their meals, and give them their reward," he says over his shoulder to one on the Novices.
With that he puts on his helm, nods goodbye and heads for the door. Bart lays a pouch of gold (40gp), then heads to the bar to pay up your tab.
" And I'm willing to do it!" Dorcas reaches to his plate and finds it's already empty. He looks into his mug. Not a drop of ale left in there. " Dverin just said something very wise. You can't have great adventures without good sleep. Good knight everyone and see you next morning! " Dorcas thanks to the Curate and Bart. He leaves the stool and heads to the place where warm bed and sweet dreams (with another round of meal and drink) await for him.
Keun stuffs his remaining food in his mouth. As he is walking over and counting his share of the money he says something to the barkeep. It is most likely thanks from the tone and the way he bobs his head, but it is unintelligible. By the time they are at the inn and paying for rooms his mouth is clear and he says, "Good night everyone!"
Outside, the sun has sunken lower and the shadows stretch across the courtyard. Extra guards can be seeing patrolling the walls as night approaches. On entering the Inn, you are in a 10x10 reception room, a middle aged man and woman at a table playing a card game. At your entrance the man stands up, "May I help you," he asks moving to the high desk. A sign behind the desk states the private rooms are 1gp and common room is 1sp.
The night passes without incident, as dawn approaches, you are awoken by the distant sound of the day-bell, as the soldiers of the inner Keep begin another day.
Waking up feeling refreshed, after Keun dons his armor he makes his way to the well. Doing some light stretching and moving around, he is also looking around at the activity in his surroundings, taking in the keep.
" Good morning, Keun. Did you have a good dream? " Says Dorcas, rubbing sleepy eyes. He goes to the well and starts to brush his teeth with salt. After the mouth washing and spitting out water, Dorcas feels refreshed like being a new dwarf again.
Keun is flailing about making sounds as he swings his arms. He smiles and greets the others as they come out and in between waving his body around says, "I slept great! Dreamt I was slaying goblins!" He grunts and waves around some more, "How about you two did you sleep well?"
"I was thinking we'd prepare ourselves and then try to help out this keep." He finally stops moving around and leans against the well, dripping with sweat and breathing heavily. "By doing our part and clearing out this cave for them."
The sun has only broken the horizon, and the tops of the towers reflect the light but the courtyard is in shadow. A heavy dew makes the stone ground wet, and there is still a chill to the early spring morning. The courtyard outside the Inn sees more bustle at this early hour as people draw water from the deep well using a water wheel and bucket. You note two figures in armor coming into the courtyard and making their way toward you and you recognize them as the Curate's two novices.
"May Helm watch over you this day," they say in unison. "We have been in this Keep now for two years, and have not left its walls to do Helm's work. The Curate has given us permission to accompany you given two conditions. Firstly, that you wish our company. Secondly, that we return before sunset and the closing of the gates," continues Bart.
Keun nods and returns their blessing. While listening to their proposal he visibly brightens, "That would be great! I'd love to see you in action!" Attempting to catch himself he pulls his head back a bit and looks to the others. "Of course, if everyone approves of accepting their aid that is. I'm sure having some knowledgeable locals could be useful. Also, getting back before dark is probably smart." He is still beaming and looks like he's ready to sprint out of the gates.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dverin wakes up with the others.
To the guards, he nods in agreement, reserving any feasible objections, and asking, "To what purpose does the Curate task you to join us on this mission?"
Dverin eyes them and their response keenly. Insight: 4
"The Curate has no purpose, as it is our purpose. For two years we have not left this Keep and have had no opportunity to strike a blow against the dark forces which surround us, and we must strike such blows in Helm's name?"
You sense no deceit in their words, but rather true sincerity

Dverin smiles, takes his share and is willing to spend it on whatever the price is for a bed. He's excited about what the next day will bring.
"Yeap, goodnight, guys. Tomorrow's another day. We made it."

"Greetings! I will take a bed in the common room." Keun slides a silver piece over and smiles at the man.
Dverin agrees to the same.

"Very well, then. We'll need someone more familiar with these lands, so its good to have ye."
Dverin pauses, then adds his thanks.
