“Yeah. Bad plan. There’s no way we could pass as these monks.” He looks over at Shrek and grins. “Should we try the single door to the right?” Olaerys cautiously heads down the hall and peeks around the corner. If nothing is there, he listens to the door on the right.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Shrek, standing in front of the set of double doors, animatedly points to them, and whispers "Go here! Not wake sleeping monks. Must be 'portent things this way!"
Ankita follows the boys into the hallway as they discuss either the double doors or the door on the right which apparently has sleeping monks in it. As soon as she enters the hallway, she gets an uneasy feeling. Something isn't right, "Guys, I get the feeling we're being watched," Ankita whispers.
"Shouldn't we deal with the sleepers? They will be between us and the exits otherwise." He looks at the doorway. "Could we jam it somehow? So if they awaken, they cannot get after us?"

Shrek quietly pads back to the dining room, and hefts one of the tables, throwing it under a giant arm. He walks the table out of the dining room, and brings it down the hall and props it in front of the door which Olaerys heard the snoring within (if possible, wedging the door against one wall, so the door is pinned shut by the table).
Melchor looks at the blocked door, hand dropping to his dagger 'I hope we don't regret leaving them behind us...' he mutters to himself, before preparing to follow Olaerys and the others...
Olaerys opens the door to a large, open air, courtyard. This long, narrow court is paved in red sandstone. To the north stands the main temple or shrine of the monastery, its copper-sheathed doors emblazoned with a triangular symbol. Doors also exit the court at its east and west ends, and several narrow windows pierce the south wall. Gargoyle statues guard the door, each facing the court with a ferocious leer.
Randall will stay near Melchor, ready to protect him with his shield if necessary.

Olaerys holds his arm out blocking the others as he sees this, stopping and holding very still. He looks at the narrow windows for any movement, any arrow slits or signs of hidden monks.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Shrek, second in line behind Olaerys, peers over his head (since he towers over everyone), and into the open courtyard beyond. Eyeballing the gargoyles warily, he whispers back "Me thinks those statues aren't statues, but ugly beasts waiting to attack...ho-hum. We can take 'em!"
OOC: Looking back at the map in post 1000 (page 50), I just realized there was a door in the northeast corner of the dining room. Think we should go that way first, or just trudge into the courtyard here and see what traps await?
((Olaerys would feel more comfortable going that way, if no one else objects.))
Olaerys points out quietly and makes note of the triangular symbol over the far door. Then he closes the current door and backtracks into the dining room. “Come this way, let’s find out where this leads.” He heads to the northeast door leading out of the dining room.

The triangular symbol is familiar, matching the one you have seen on the stone masked monks previously encountered, and a part of the sigil Randall described to you from his encounter with the necromancer.

As you return the way you came, you hear the sound of footsteps behind you. Closely behind you. Ankita, her perception finely tuned, almost feels as though if she suddenly stopped, someone or something would bang into her.

Randall ties up the unconcious monk easily.
Olaerys doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary. You can hear light snoring in the room on the right (Reminder: it's dusk).
Olaerys steps back into the dining hall and tells everyone of the snoring heard beyond that door.

Olaerys nods as Shrek does this, quietly saying to him, “Now, let’s go see about the important stuff…”. Olaerys opens the door that Shrek indicated.

Can I get an order of who's going through the door?
Shrek is unable to wedge the door as it opens inwards. It looks like getting past the table will at least be a bit of a hinderance.
