Melchor dispatches the last skeleton almost as an afterthought as he crouches down with Panga. The Necromancer is definitely dead, and and as Panga touches the corpse it turns into a ball of black smoke, you hear an insane cackle, and it disappears. The only thing left of him is the wand he was holding which lies in front of you.
With the chaos over, Randal see in the cubbies a total of 165 sp, 78 gp and 4 polished, jet black gems. (50 gp each)
Breathing heavily in the torchlit quiet, Randall looks over the rest of the group.
"(sigh) You all look about how I feel. What happened to you?"
"I pursued the madman, but our passages never linked up. Instead I found myself in this chamber with him and the skeletons." He points to the shattered crystal shards on the ground. "When I first got here, that was a glowing crystal orb. It lit up a strange symbol in the air and filled the cavern with light. I don't know much about magic, and I thought maybe it was the "eye" the lunatic was raving about. So I grabbed it and smashed it on the ground. Unfortunately, all it did was cast the whole room into darkness. I was defenseless against the skeletons. I'd be dead now if not for your rescue." He shines his torch toward the hidden alcove and the coins and gems. "I presume that is some of what has been stolen by the bandits. Does someone one to collect that?"
He looks around one more time and takes count. "Where's the druid? Frail?"

“I ran the other way Randall, thinking it would link up with where the necromancer was running and we would cut off his escape. Unfortunately it led to a different passage, another area where there was a trap, and it looked like Frail was led there and met her end there.. I was clawed to pieces and if it wasn’t for Melchor I would be dead right now. Let’s gather what we can and head back to town, I feel terrible. “. He begins searching through the necromancer’s things along with the others, searching the chamber.
Melchor picks up the wand and places it in his pack, taking care not to come into direct contact with it. ‘I’ll need to study this, see if it’s safe. Now, where would he have kept his spellbook. We need to find his sleeping quarters, and maybe a study…?’
He looks around at the injured.
’Perhaps a short rest before proceeding might be in order…?’
There are no other accoutrements that you see, and there do not appear to be any unexplored areas. If he had a spellbook, it disappeared into that puff of black smoke with him.
While the injured are resting, Melchor takes time to search for any hidden compartments, or anything else that might explain the motives of the Necromancer...
Randall wads up one of the purple tapestries and sits down on it to rest. He also tears free a few pieces to bind those wounds the the magic did not heal. Hit dice (1): 4
He will also try to sketch out on the sandy floor the strange symbols he saw when the crystal was glowing. Perhaps they mean something to the more magically inclined member of the party?

Panga's eyes dart around quickly while everyone searches and finally says, "This place is making me uncomfortable. I think if we are healed enough we should depart. I shall wait at the exit."
She makes her way to the exit to get some fresh air, and also look around to see if there are any threats waiting for them.
After the investigation is complete, Olaerys walks toward the exit as well. As soon as he walks out, he walks over to the cage to check on the status of the bandit that was locked inside.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Randall is eager to chat with the bandit again as well. Are we to believe he had no idea what horrors were going on just inside the cave?

Your search proves fruitless; it appears the crazed necromancer lived very simply! Aside from some bedding and and the aforementioned coins and gems, you find nothing of value. There are some extremely well cleaned tools (Saws, pliers, etc) lying around that were clearly being used for his necromantic madness.
You come back outside and the bandit in the cage is still there. He is very excited to see you return, and starts begging to be let out.

Randall describes the following sigil which was floating above the crystal ball he destroyed:
Your search proves fruitless; it appears the crazed necromancer lived very simply! Aside from some bedding and and the aforementioned coins and gems, you find nothing of value. There are some extremely well cleaned tools (Saws, pliers, etc) lying around that were clearly being used for his necromantic madness.
You come back outside and the bandit in the cage is still there. He is very excited to see you return, and starts begging to be let out.
Melchor finds himself distracted from his searching by the arcane runes, walking over to study them more closely.
’Some of these seem familiar…’ he murmurs, wracking his memory…
