"The townsfolk are plebeian fools! If we left things up to the likes of that gossip Kaylessa, or that overproud, pompous Harburk, Red Larch would be in ruins. Don't you see boy? You are smart, I always thought so. Surely you can see, what us Believers do is what must be done, for the good of the town. I don't like this Larrakh and his talk of prophets but he helps us interpreter the Stones! Can't you see??"
Randall looks away from the old man, to Olaerys, to Shrek, to Melchor. He looks dazed and confused. "This can't be right...."

Olaerys walks over to Baragustus and says "Stand up." Still hoisting his battle axe in a manner indicating he is all business, the ex-city guard begins to frisk Baragustas making sure he's not hiding anything. He searches his pockets. "I'm sure they will love to hear this story in town. How about we go tell the plebian fools, 'eh? Put your hands behind your back." He will plan to tie his hands behind him, also searching the room for anything else of note.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Shrek scratches his chin whilst listening to Baragustas talk...mostly confused. Whispering to Randall, he confides "What is plea-been?" Giving up trying to understand the guy, he also searches the room for any contraband and/or hidden doorways.
“How about we tie him to that floating table out there while we look through the rest of this place? Perhaps one of Believer buddies will sacrifice him to the Delvers.” He looks him straight in the eye and says, “For the good of the town, you know.” He starts to march him back into the other room, looking at the table and the bodies in the room.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Shrek shrugs his gigantic shoulders...confused as ever. Relying on others to tell him what to do, he jumps at Olaery's suggestion and marches with him to tie their prisoner up in the other room. Whispering to Olaery's a little too loudly, "Should Shrek knock prisoner out by bopping on head with fist?" while winking at the prisoner, trying to appear threatening.
Shrek sets his pack down and pulls out his rope, and ties Baragustas' hands and feet together behind his back, and then ties the now-limp body to whatever looks sturdy (the table?) in the room.
When Baragustas' appears to be fully tied up, and not going anywhere, he proceeds to return back to the room where they found him, and marches to the door on the east side of the room. He places his ear to the door, and listens through it (Perception: 10). If hearing nothing, he'll proceed to open the door, and jump through with his halberd at the ready.
Shrek hears nothing at the door, and leaps through.
An enormous chamber with a twenty-foot ceiling has been carved out of the rock here. A lighted lantern rests on the floor near the center of the room. An odd array of stone monoliths — some upright standing stones, and others arranged in three-stone arches — stand around the chamber. Six low stone slabs are set against the walls around the perimeter of the room. Each holds humanoid bones, dressed in scraps of tattered cloth and rusted iron.
For 30 feet around the door, the ground is in disarray, as if hard earth became mud, was molded chaotically, and resolidified.
While the others are working, Randall is monologueing. “I just don’t know what to make of this. I e lived here my whole life. My father worked in these quarries. There’s no way there could be some cult based here. There’s just no way! It’s inconceivable. But what other explanation is there? This guy is a fixture in the town. Why would he lie about all this?”
”My head is spinning. What do you guys think about all this? What does it all mean?”
He is oblivious to whatever danger Shrek has walked into.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The ground rumbles underneath your feet, knocking Olaerys prone and causing him 5 bludgeoning damage. Shrek is able to maintain his footing.
The shaking earth seems localized; Randall and Melchor are unaffected. A voice shouts out "That is a small taste of my power, fools. Leave, or I will feed your corpses to Ankhegs! Perhaps you are strong enough to be of service to the Prophet, but I do not intend to find out. I give you one chance to leave here with your lives"
Intimidation: 6 (I'll need a charisma check to counter that, then RP as you choose)

Shrek dumbfoundedly adds “What about dead bodies in other cave? Believers murder too!?”

"I don't know anything about dead bodies! " Baragustas barks indignantly.
Turning to Randall: "The quarry workers were starting to pry. Larrakh thought they needed to be scared away to protect the Delvers."

There does not appear to be anything hidden in the passageway. There is a door east, and a door back west (The previous room also has a door west)

“That would be great Shrek.” Olaerys gives Shrek a thumbs up.

Completely terrified, Baragustas' eyes roll back in his head and he faints, going limp in Olaerys' arms

I need a dex save from Shrek
Olaerys is behind Shrek, says “What do you see?” He also makes sure that Baragustas is gagged as well as bound before going to the room again.
