Eva smiles at Estelle. "Oh, I have coffee." She pours some in a ceramic mug. On the mug is a small dog surrounded by seven stars. "I have cream, sugar and honey if you'd like."

Baudric also accepts some coffee and food, taking advantage of what chances he has to get something even close to a good meal. Listening carefully to the tale, he frowns slightly, "No, no one deserves that, and no one has the right to impose that on another. What do you know of this dark pact, its terms and the powers it gives him?"
(Would he recognize the blood drinking as likely vampirism? On the one hand, its a big clue, on the other, not the undead he usually deals with. History: 10)
Amelia frowns. It sounds like this Strahd deserves what's coming for him. "And that's where we come in, I'm guessing? Is there a reason it's us in particular?"
Baudric, given that you're a bloodhunter and you've studied about the supernatural you'd likely guess that Strahd's drinking of his blood is vampirism.
Eva nods as she pours brandy for Ubly as she turns to Amelia. "It's likely that your paths are likely to cross with Strahd's at some point. As for Strahd's bargain, he bargained for immortality and power over the land. Strahd isn't just a vampire, he's also an experienced wizard and has numerous resources at his disposal. I've also heard rumors that he's struck a bargain with a devil. That could make things worse."
She goes to her desk and draws five cards from her tarroka deck, laying them face down on the table.
"There is a way to defeat Strahd. Three tools to aid you in your quest, and an ally. Would you like to draw and see your fate and fortunes?"

Having experiences with vampirism himself, Bral immediately recognises the signs. When Madam Eva confirms it, he nods his head. Another vampire to kill. Although, this one sounds like he would be quite the challenge. If he is going to slay the master of this domain, he will need allies. The rest of this group would be a start, but he will need more. Perhaps Dr. Rudolph Van Richten would be able to assist, or perhaps the ally that Madam Eva has mentioned.
"I want to find out more about this ally."
Then without hesitating he picks up the card at the bottom of the arrangement.
Eva stands back for a second. "Yes that card will help you find an ally to defeat Strahd."
She draws the card, revealing The Mists card. "A Vistana wanders this land alone, searching for her mentor. She does not stay in one place for long. Seek her out at Saint Markovia’s abbey, near the mists." Her eyes lock with Bral," She could help you in your personal quest as well. She too seeks the good doctor."

Bral turns to Mia, "I guess you don't get a card?"
He then turns back to Madam Eva, "Saint Markovia’s abbey, got it. So what would you have us do? Would you gladly allow us to kill your master, or is this a trap?"
Mia shakes her head, "I understand little of these cards or of the powers you speak of. I am however, very interested in what you know of these domains and if there is a way to free dreadlords and those living in the domains from them. I come from Kalakeri, I know not if you have been there, and we suffer from our lords eternal war. If we can break the curse that is on this land perhaps I can also free my home." Looking over what they have learned and of where they may find help, she says, "We have a high peak, and abbey, a marsh, and there is a powerful sword somewhere. Sounds like the father's tomb is a place to avoid." She sits and ponders for a bit about the similarities of Barovia and her home.
Baudric nods to Mia's words, "I, too, am from a land of eternal war, one I'd like to end. As for our clues, is there perhaps a map of the region that we could copy? I think of the group, we should seek out the ally first, and go from there, but yes, avoid the crypt. I assume his father's tomb?"
Ubly has been writing things down in their tome, but looks up and stops as they say, "I agree, a map would be lovely. Madam Eva what can you tell us about Saint Markovia’s abbey, near the mists?"

“Brandy would be lovely, thank you.” Ubly smiles at Madam Eva.
“I too, would be interested in learning about these dark powers.” Ubly has been writing things down in the tome they've opened up in front of them.

(Am I rolling something?)
No, actually you'll pick a number and draw a card from this site. If you can't access it, I'll do it for you.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
He will pick 3.
As you draw it, you see Eva raise an eyebrow. "This card tells of a powerful force for good and protection, a holy symbol of great hope."
Eva strokes her chin. "I see a fallen house guarded by a great stone dragon. Look to the highest peak."

Amelia shrugs and draws a card.
Number: 5
Ubly is drinking their brandy as Madam Eva is speaking and at her words their eyes open wide.
"A deal with the dark powers, a deal with the devil..." They are smiling wide and looking at the others, "This just gets more and more interesting."
They reach out and take a card (number 3), holding it up and waiting, still with a big smile.
Eva smiles as Amelia flips over the card in the center. "This card will lead you right to Strahd."
Eva sighs. "Your destiny is to confront Strahd in father's tomb."
She watches Ubly turn card No. 3. "This is a card of power and strength. It tells of a weapon of vengeance: a sword of sunlight," she says.
Eva thinks for a moment. "I see a kneeling woman—a rose of great beauty plucked too soon. The master of the marsh knows of whom I speak."
There are two more cards - No. 1 and No. 4.

Amelia blanches at the blunt response. “Well,” she says slowly, “that’s…certainly the most straightforward card of the bunch.”
Estelle eyes the only card left - number one - and flips it over with a slightly shaking hand. "And what does this card tell us?"
Bral turns to Mia, "I guess you don't get a card?"
He then turns back to Madam Eva, "Saint Markovia’s abbey, got it. So what would you have us do? Would you gladly allow us to kill your master, or is this a trap?"
