Burgomaster Mansion

Robin is waiting, how are Bral and Amelia going to respond? 

Baudric shakes his head, thinking to himself that they can use this Lady's help to remove the Burgomaster, then remove the Count, and hopefully, with no more vampire, it won't matter if she supports him or not. "Let's just focus on the task at hand for a moment. Do you know anything about any link between the Burgomaster and wolves?"

(So assuming that the main remains locked up.)

Bral turns around to the baron, "Then why is he locked up in your mansion? He should be locked up in some sort of jail. Not here. What does this man stand accused of?"

Burgomaster's Mansion

The Burgomaster waves his arms, his eyes flaring. "He's accused of disturbing the peace and trying to foil our methods of keeping Strahd at bay. He claims the festival isn't working." 

"We also don't have a jail," The Baroness adds. 

Udo the prisoner shakes his head. "The festivals are not going to keep Strahd away. People still go missing from the woods. His wagon still goes around Barovia. This festival acheives nothing, except for only buying time." 

The Burgomaster turns to the group. "We can't have him running around town claiming these things. How do we know he's not an agent for Strahd?"

Wachterhaus

Lady Fiona shakes her head at Baudric's question. "Vargas doesn't have a connection to the wolves. The only animals he seems to favor are his mastiffs who are always with him. It's possible that he struck a deal with some hunters and they remove anyone who's a threat. It's very easy to hire people and remove them from existence." 

Bral stands back up and turns to the burgomaster, "Wait, the festivals are the way that you have been defending yourselves from Strahd? I don't believe that such a trivial thing would be enough to keep him away."

The Baron cringes. "I mean, it's always worked before. We haven't seen Strahd in your city ... Fine, take him."

The Baroness turns to her husband. "Vargas, you're not serious?!"

"Take him and leave," The Baron says. "He's learned his lesson." 

Udo begins to curse as he moves toward the door. 

Baudric shrugs again, "So what would you change if you replaced the Baron? I'm assuming you'd like the role for yourself. And do you know anything that could help us expose any crimes of his?"

Wacherhaus

Fiona ponders for a moment. "I could help expose his crimes to you. You just need to find evidence that he's taken people or performed other illegal activities. If I were the Burgomaster, I wouldn't put on so many of these damned festivals. I'd welcome Strahd to our city and show him the respect he deserves." 

Robin keeps concentration on her spell as she watches the interactions. She is ready to use more magic if it becomes needed, but is content to let things play out as they are currently.

"Look," Bral says before leaving. "We're working to put an end to Strahd once and for all. Soon, you will not need to rely on any unnecessary festivals to keep Strahd away."

He then walks over to the door, "Come on. I think we've done all we can here. We will talk outside. Don't worry, we will still distribute the leaflets."

He then turns away walking through the door and out back through the house.

 Keldon feels the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Burgomaster Mansion

Bral, as you say this, the Baroness' face softens. "You really think you can defeat Strahd? Best of luck to you. Just so you know he has spies around here. Lady Fiona Wachter and her family are loyal to Strahd. Be careful around them."

And you are free to go. 

Robin and Buddy follow the others out of the house.

Keldon bite attack reroll 9 

Baudric sighs and bows his head, but as Keldon moves forward to attack, quickly moves to support him.

Initiative: 3

Once outside the mansion, Bral will make sure that Udo makes it safe away from the mansion and not apprehended once more.

"So, I guess this Lady Fiona Watcher is a rival of the baron and baroness," Bral says to the others. "I know they said she was a spy for Strahd, but they seem to be willing to accuse anyone who doesn't agree with them as a spy. We're lucky that we weren't accused and run out of town."

Bral looks up and down the street.

"We got two choices right now. We could either go and find the rest of our group and see just what trouble they gotten themselves into. Or, we can go try and investigate this Lady Fiona Watcher. We could begin by handing out these leaflets and asking the folk of the town just what they think."
