Scarlet takes the Lute and starts strumming it. She feels the weight like instruced. She feels the wood. What kind of wood is this? she asks. She compares the Lute to her sword. She looks back at Inez and says It feels nice.... I don't know what to say.... it's... it's almost a magical feeling.

"I want to pull out it's tongue so Timbity can use it as a whip."- W
Scarlet is a red haired wood elf. She is wearing a semi-formal red dress and her green cloak with silver lining. She has a beat up old scimitar at her side. She has dark green eyes and a feather in her hair. Her skin is well tanned.
At Nine's question, Morgan seems to almost shrink back into her chair. She looks away for a long, uncomfortable moment. Then Nine, ONLY Nine, hears the mental voice again.
*I...I suppose I could say the farm near Caer Callydir where I grew up. I could say the spare room I rented back in Kythyss. I could even say the Titchwillows' hut in the feywild, since I spent either six or eighteen years of my life there, depending on how you look at it.*
She pauses a moment, but there's a since of lingering in the back of Nine's mind, like she isn't quite finished yet. Her face turns to stare at the table in front of her, but her eyes look up to meet the kenku's gaze.
*But the truth? I...I don't think I really know where home is yet. I'm still looking for it.*
And there you have it. Let's just say there's more than one reason why I think these two would be great in a campaign together.
Inez grinned, an excited gleam in her eyes. "It's white oak, I made it myself! Okay, that's a lie, I didn't my company helped me out," she said and brushed her fingers along the edge of the lute. "Magical? Well I'd hope so!" the Aasimar said with a chuckle, "The beautiful thing about being a bard, is that music becomes magical. Songs, poems, plays, you name it. All because of a little ol' lute. I could help you make an instrument yourself if you want!"
Nine cannot smile, though his black eyes crinkle warmly. He does not look at Morgan, but sits a bit closer to her and leans back in his chair. The song that rises from his beak is not a usual tune, but a mix of sounds that are soon recognizable. The clop of hooves on road, the creak of wagon wheels. Birds singing and fire crackling, wind bending tree branches and the howling of wolves.
That would be great. I would appreciate it. Scarlet says I'll have to repay you in someway someday... She is sort of embarrassed because she doesn't really like to trouble people with helping her.

The wine skin appears swiftly from Nine’s cloak, and a measure of fragrant herbal smelling wine is poured into the cup and the bowl. He taps the wine skin and his teacher’s voice issues forth, “Damn the rest of it, Gnomish wines are the best, unless you drink alone. Save the Halfling stuff for that”
Morgan can't resist a giggle as she accepts the offered cup, though she then immediately looks aghast and flushes her brightest red yet. She turns her head away quickly.
"Oh you really don't have to, it's fine! But if it makes you feel better, I betcha can think of something," she said with a smile and gently takes the lute back and strums it once. Inez makes a face, realizing it was slightly out of tune. She begins to tune some of the out of tune strings and plays it again. Better! She looked around the tavern, "Everything here is so cozy, I wish I found it sooner. How long have you been here?" she asks Scarlet.
Nine is confused, slightly. Giggles are a new sound to him. He shrugs however, and dips his beak into his wine bowl. He clicks his tongue and warbles satisfaction.
"Well, come on and join in Sizori. Nothing to be afraid of unless you can't play to key." At this, he lays down his lyre and tells the other bards. " excuse me for just a bit. I hope you don't mind if I just take a slight nap. After that, I might have some wood you could use in my bag." And with that, he picks up his lyre again, and deftly jumps into the mouth of his bag and soon snoring can again be heard from the mouth of the little knapsack.
My name's Cloud on Mountaintop, but you can just call me Cloud. Most people do-they find it easier. I've spent the last few years here, decided to take a break from adventuring. My last adventure involved me getting magically aged to the point of death, meeting the physical incarnation of time, and spending a year that didn't actually pass in a dreamworld, so I figured I needed a break. Are you involved in any particular events or adventures at the moment?
Nine-While-Nine has never seen a dwarf jump into a knapsack. He once knew a Kobold who rode into battle in a paladin’s knapsack, but never a dwarf. He shakes his head bemusedly, and levels a wink and a shrug at Morgan. His voice is that of a salt-scarred dockhand he knew in Skullport: “Seen it all now, I have.”

Jae's eyes widen. And I thought I had it bad!
"Nothing like what you describe, Miss Cloud on Mountaintop," he tells her, smiling. His scar crinkles as he gestures at his blue cloak.
"I've been working as a Guard of Blue City for the past few years, really just a glorified policeman...Although I may no longer even be that."
Jae chuckles ruefully.
"I was on an assignment to catch a 'simple village thief,' but I was ambushed by a group of ruffians. I had to run to Blackcrescent Forest, but not before I had gotten this."
He points at his scar.
"It's a mostly unexplored forest, and I got completely lost. Then somehow I came here, I guess."
Jae shrugs, tired from the explanation, and hopeful that that galosch is still to be served. Something of what Cloud said makes him pause, though.
"You said you decided to come here? How did you know how to find it?" Jae asks, curious. "Do you know how I would get back to my forest if I needed to?"
Morgan stops short of a full-blown giggle, but can't resist a mild chuckle.
"Aye, I suppose we have now indeed, friend."
With that, she'll finish off the last of her meal (which has gone a bit cold by now, though it doesn't bother her), and once finished she'll push that aside and pull out a small book, its cover an aged, black leather and its pages riddled with strange runes and glyphs that seem to move if Nine looks too closely at them.
Feeling slightly awkward, Nine gestures to Morgan, tapping his badge before gesturing to her, and questioning in the voice of a small child,
”Home?”

Okay, Bandersnatch, you asked for it.

He pulls a carved wooden bowl and cup from his satchel and looks at Morgan questioningly, issuing the sound of a cork popping.
That would be great. I would appreciate it. Scarlet says I'll have to repay you in someway someday... She is sort of embarrassed because she doesn't really like to trouble people with helping her.

Morgan smiles sheepishly.
*Are you offering me a drink? Or asking if I have any?*
The wine skin appears swiftly from Nine’s cloak, and a measure of fragrant herbal smelling wine is poured into the cup and the bowl. Morgan relaxes a bit and smiles at Nine's reaction. She holds up her cup for a toast.
"To new friends met on the road?" she asks quietly.
"Well, come on and join in Sizori. Nothing to be afraid of unless you can't play to key." At this, he lays down his lyre and tells the other bards. " excuse me for just a bit. An approving nod, and Nine returns the toast.
Morgan watches the dwarf jump into his own bag with a mixture of surprise and bemusement. She then turns to Nine.
*Perhaps you've been around here long enough to know, is he always like that?*
