“Do you recall seeing along the road a young girl and a lad who wanted to be an adventurer, green around the ears with a new sword and shield, a young man and his sister?” Afterwards he looks around the room quickly and asks Ned “You didn’t get a look at who hit you? Do you have any idea of how long you have been lying in here?”

Wake will continue to untie the man’s bindings as Ned talks to the other two. He’ll give him a quick once over to determine if he’s strong enough to flee on his own. Guidance will be called upon as he finishes the unbinding.
Ariana & Ruby - Damp mold covers portions of the walls and ceiling in this large bedroom, and rubbish is strewn liberally around the floor. In the center is a single mattress that has been badly torn, from which stuffing protrudes. Under the window sits a large wooden chest, the timbers split and its lid closed.
Kulogall - Ned shakes his head as he rubs his wrists, "No, I don't recall seein' anyone fittin' that description. I didn't see anything, I heard that boomin' voice and beat feet outta there. I hadn't gone a few steps when sumpin' whacked me. I musta got here last night. I woke up a few hours ago, layin' there like I was when you found me. Haven't seen or heard no one else."
Wake - Ned has a nasty bump on the back of his head and possibly some retrograde amnesia, not uncommon in people that are concussed or knocked unconscious. He's a little shaky on his feet at first, but soon seems well enough to walk unassisted.
Elwyn - Ned looks over to you and says, "I didn't get to see much of the place 'fore I was attacked. All I know is it gives me the willies. You folks ain't plannin' on stickin' 'round here are ye? This place is infernal! Prolly built on desecrated ground or sumpin' else evil... I don't rightly feel comfortable jus' headin' off by my lonesome. I'd like to stick with ye lot if it's alright with ye. But we shouldn't be pokin' 'round this evil place!"
You don't find much else in the room other than rotting furniture and bits of plaster from the walls and ceiling. Looking back at where Ned was found, you see foot prints in the dust and debris covering the floor. You see yours and those of your companions and also two other pairs. There are no drag marks to be found and all foot prints appear to be made by people wearing boots or some other type of foot covering. You look over to where Wake and Kulogall are speaking with Ned and see that he is barefoot.
Ariana - The mattress contains only moldy stuffing and a family of cockroaches that scurry away as they fall out of the mattress.
As you search the fireplace, you discover a loose stone about three feet above the top of the fireplace that conceals a small cavity. Inside the cavity is a small leather pouch containing two cut pieces of blue quartz (10 gp each).
Kulogall says “Sorry Ned, there is something that we need to look into here. You can stay with us if you wish, but don’t interfere with what we are doing.” He cocks his head and looks at Elwyn then to Wake, points to each of them under his cloak and sends a message to each of them in turn, when turned away from Ned, asks them “Should I send a message to Ned and ask him about Xolo? Maybe he has heard of him? What do you think? If he does not know about him he will just be confused, and that is fine.”.
Ned seems to be telling the truth to Kulogall from what he can tell, but he still hopes that perhaps he has heard of someone… someone of interest to him. Knowing that magic wielding Tritons may not be overly common in the area, and previously sensing the presence of his brother, he tries to give it a go with Ned. He is hoping that speaking via message, “in confidence”, will perhaps loosen the man’s tongue, if he knows anything. Oh well, if he doesn’t know, he’ll just look at me like I’m strange and we’ll move on. Why does the old interrogator in me come out so quickly?
Kulogall turns to Ned, points his finger at him and reaches out to him in his mind. “Have you heard of one like me, a Triton named Xolo? Where is he?”

Elwyn - Daveth looks back down the hall, then back to you, "Dunno, I can't see them. I'll go look."
Ruby - The chest is not locked and opens easily. Inside is a pile of moldy, ragged clothing in styles that were never in fashion — nothing of value — and a bundle of documents. These pages are rotted and stained, their meaning lost long ago.
Kulogall - Ned's eyes bulge and he shouts in terror when he hears your voice in his mind, "Gaaaahhh! It's in my 'ead!" He flees toward the door, pushing you out of his way as he goes. His shove throws you off balance and you take a step backward to steady yourself, but your foot smashes through rotten floorboards instead of the solid purchase you were expecting. Please make a DC 12 Dexterity Saving Throw (with Advantage thanks to Wake's steadying hand) to prevent falling completely through the floor. If unsuccessful, you take 5 bludgeoning damage and fall 10ft to the room below.
All - You hear Ned's shouts echoing through the house as he flees in fear. You also hear Daveth say, "Hey! Watch out-W...Whoa!" as Ned barrels through him in terror.
Daveth Dexterity Save: 17
Daveth manages to catch himself on the railing of the balcony, avoiding a fall through the structurally unsound section of floor west of the top of the stairs.
All - Ned runs down the north hallway, past the room Ariana and Ruby are searching. He throws open the door at the end of the hall, scrambles inside the room, and slams the door behind him.
Ruby sighs "No luck, everything is either rotten, moldy or both." She says and closes the chest. After hearing a man shout in terror, she will rush back to the hallway, just barely dodging the man rushing around the corner, she just watches as he slams the door on the other side of the hall. She looks aroud the corner for the rest of the party. "Who was that? Are you all okay?" She asks, looking at Daveth across the hallway, visibly confused.
"Well now he will definitely think this place is haunted." Elwyn says smiling, and then going after Ned, trying to see that he doesn't run into trouble again.
Ruby - Daveth is holding on to the balcony railing and stepping around the obviously water damaged section of floor when you look around the corner. He looks up to you and says, "I'm fine. Something spooked that guy we found and he almost knocked me off the darn balcony. Did you see where he went?"
Elwyn - You squeeze past Ruby and Daveth on your way to the north hallway. You find the door to the room Ned fled to and open it. This room appears to have been used for storage. A large, ill-made oak chest stands under the window, its lid closed. Elsewhere in the room lie three broken wooden chairs, two splintered wooden buckets, and a mildewed sack. Just inside the door is a heap of clothing; these garments have collected little dust, appearing to have been placed here only recently. Ned startles when you enter, he holds a broken chair leg in your direction as he shouts, "I told ye all this place was evil! I heard that damned infernal voice in me 'head! We shouldn't be here!"

Kulogall is surprised by Ned, is blown backward by his fleeing form. He reaches out his arm to right himself.
Dex save : 14
His flailing arms fail to grasp Wake’s hand, he windmills trying to regain his balance and fails, steps backward and feels the floor give way beneath him. “Aaaahhhh!”
He crashes down to the floor below with a loud “Ooooff!”, the wind is knocked out of his sails.
Elwyn - Ned lowers the chair leg and says, "I know I ain't the sharpest, but I know danger when I see it. When I hear it! When it reaches out to knock me silly! If ye want to go stirrin' up the ghosts in this place, I won't stop ye. But I'd ask fer a cloak and a weapon if ye can spare it. I can make it to Saltmarsh on me own, but I'd rather not try in me skivvies and empty handed."
Kulogall - Your eyes go wide as your leg breaks through the soft wood. Wake reaches out to steady you, but you slip from his grasp as the growing hole in the floor swallows you. You fall to the ground below with a CRASH. Splintered wood and crumbling plaster rain down on you from above. When you sit up and look around, you see that aside from a large amount of plaster and wood that has fallen from the ceiling, this room is bare. There are doors in the west and north walls.
Feeling very injured and alone is not a good feeling to Kulogall. With difficulty, he stands, using his staff to brace himself. He takes a few steps gingerly and heads to the doorway to the north, remembering that it was a hallway and hopefully leading back to his companions. He sends a message to Wake, wanting to remain quiet, “I’ll find that stairwell and head back up. I’m hurting but I can make it up there to you. Keep Ned away from me, will you?”

"Where did Ariana and Ruby go?" He says and looks out the length of the corridor. "Where did they go Daveth?"
