Gus follows Meepo through the corridors, taking in his surroundings as he goes, "I hope so Meepo, feels like we're gonna have plenty of enemies down here, we could use someone on our side."
Gus approaches the door, "Best be careful, d'know what we might come across."
“Where exactly does your skills lie Meepo? Can we rely on you if we were to run into any goblins or worse?” Weber questions the kobold not entirely trusting the new companion. “Should we expect any resistance on the route to the back way?”
"umm skills? I'm pretty good with my sling I guess, I can talk to dragons and read their language although they don't like me very much or at least one of them doesn't."
Dust and odd bits of stony debris and rubble lie scattered on the floor. An ornate fountain is built into the eastern wall. Though cracked and stained, the fountain’s overarching carving of a diving dragon retains its beauty. A relief-carved stone door stands on the western wall.
There is some writing on the fountain written in a language you don't understand. (draconic)
Carvings on the western door show skeletal dragons. There is an draconic inscription on the door also Within 5 feet of the door, the air is noticeably cooler, and the door itself is cold to the touch.
A dark corridor continues to the North, the tracks in the dust continue North into the dark corridor (you are in the room with the fountain)
"on the fountain, it says 'Let there be Fire' and on the door (he steps back when he feels the cold air), it says 'Rebuke the dead, open the way', interesting..., not sure how you would rebuke a dead person but..."
“Let there be fire? Bit of a strange inscription for fountain if you ask me, but then again everyone’s mind will work different.” Weber walks over to the door on their left before the corridor. “Should we check here first? Don’t want any goblins hiding around sneaking up behind us.”
"Sounds sensible Weber," Gus replies, moving to the door and readying his hammer and shield, "We'll have plenty of time to investigate these mysteries when we know our backs are safe."
He positions himself in front of the door and nods for Weber to open it.
"Hmm, stuck perhaps, looks like it's not opening anytime soon I guess" Weber looks towards the rest of the group "maybe we just move on... don't want to keep the goblins waiting I guess."
"We can always take a look on the way back, doesn't seem like any surprises'll be popping out of there," Gus smiles at Weber as he turns back to the fountain.
"Before we head on, I wanna try something with the fountain. Meepo, you said the writing says, 'let there be fire', right?" Gus places his shield and hammer on the ground and swings his pack off.
After a few seconds of rummaging, he pulls out a tinderbox and some scraps of paper from a book, carries both over to the fountain makes a small pile of paper on the flattest part of the fountain and lights it with the tinderbox.
When it catches, he steps back to see if anything happens.
“Perhaps the translation is not required? This is a lost dragon temple after all, Meepo how do you say it in the original tongue?” Looking over to the little kobold

He listens at the door.

Nothing is heard from the door.
"umm skills? I'm pretty good with my sling I guess, I can talk to dragons and read their language although they don't like me very much or at least one of them doesn't."
Durthon stands guarding the rear and waits for Atallia to examine the door before opening it.

Atallia checks out the door.
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep
The door has been used recently but does not appear to be locked.
"I don't think they use this way much but I have my sling ready just in case."
Atallia gestures to Durthon to open the door.

seems excited you would ask for his help!

Durthon takes a look at the fountain "I wonder who carved this here." And walks north to get a better look at the intersection up there.

Other than being made back in the time of old dragon worshippers, there is nothing that sticks out about the fountain.
“Let there be fire? Bit of a strange inscription for fountain if you ask me, but then again everyone’s mind will work different.” Weber walks over to the door on their left before the corridor. “Should we check here first? Don’t want any goblins hiding around sneaking up behind us.”

The door refuses to budge even though it does not appear locked or caught on anything. It does not appear to have been used in quite a while though.

"it does translate to 'let there be fire' in common, nothing seems to be happening though."

"ħalli jkun hemm in-nar."
"Something's happening!"
Reddish liquid begins to well from the diving dragon’s mouth, slowly accumulating in the basin and then stops.
