As you get closer to the pretty building you start to see that indeed, the folks gathered outside are Rabbitfolk, dressed in yellow. There are four of them, and they are with two dwarven folks, seemingly deep in conversation.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Effulgyn keeps the cart moving forward and offers a curt greeting to the group as they draw near, steering to pass them on one side. He perks an ear and an eye however. ‘Now I wonder what they’re talking about?,’ he thinks, a sidelong glance to Ferg, Fin and Arc suggesting wariness.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ferg lets Parson fly about the group but keeps his own senses. "We are on a botanical quest, what is the latest news?" He is looking out from the cart and watching for signs of danger. Perception: 3
Arc, having dated a farmer once in his old town, plays along. "I think this is a prime area for Toxicodendron radicans. It should be blooming about now.
As Effulgyn leads Asterix down the road and closer to that last bright structure in Beres, a few things become obvious. One is that the building has a sign that reads "Leopold's" in bright white, newly painted letters. Underneath, slightly smaller, is the word "Inn".
Parson flies by the four rabbitfolk and attempts to listen to their conversation but he is unable to get close enough for long enough to get full sentences. What is obvious is that the group has not paid you any mind, so deep was their conversation, until Ferg casually asked them for news.
"Botanical quest?" One of the rabbitfolk say, to no one in particular. "We're busy at the moment but we can send someone quickly. Harrold, go check if Teesy is available."
Without hesitation one of the four rabbitfolk break for the inn, and the rest resume their conversation.
OOC are you going to wait for Harrold and Teesy to return?
Effulgyn pulls back on the reins, deciding to wait, the cart shudders to a halt, and the halfling sits quietly on the driver’s bench listening to the rabbit folk’s discussion.
The rabbitfolk, unabashed and not at all worried that they are being overheard, continue with their conversation with the dwarven duo--middle aged, wearing matching uniforms like guards or police (but not The Guard, who you haven't seen outside of The Commons, and who wear white).
They're negotiating, it sounds like, but you're standing a little too far away to hear entire sentences. What you can pick up is that the rabbitfolk are discussing the best way to escort the dwarven folks to and from a bank.
Before long, the one called Harrold returns with another rabbitfolk person, shorter and wearing a yellow vest. She comes over to your cart immediately.
"M'names Teesy, where might you be need escorting to? Looks like you're headed out of town so let;s get it straight that trips to the beaches or to the mountains need earlier bookings unless o'course you're so full of gold it;s dripping outta yer dungarees and no offence meant, gents, but I don't get that that feeling from the lot of you".

Ferg is slightly take back by this comment as he always wants to look the part. "Yes Miss Teesy, I don't think we need an escort, we were just wondering why there were so few people on the roads as we left Beres on what should have been a busy Saturday afternoon? Is there news in the air?" He looks around at the Inn again. "We don't want to make fools of ourselves or run in to foul luck if such is about; you understand."
Effulgyn joins in. “That’s very wise of you to guess that we’re not from around here. Thanks fer yer offer but we need no escort. But if ye can offer any advice as we head on this road that’d be appreciated.”
"Eff, I really don't think the game is working," Fin mumbles, trying to be just loud enough to be heard within the wagon. "Got to stop telling our fake story because it doesn't seem realistic right now. Let's the press on." The armored figure glances around, wanting to be rid of this place with a clean break.

“I agree with you, Barlow, let’s keep moving.” Effulgyn lightly flips the reins and urges Asterix onward. “G’day,” he offers the rabbit folk in parting.
"Wishin' you safe, uh, travels" Teensy says as you start to leave. "Pretty dangerous out there, but you know where to find the Kokopellee clan if you need us"
The dwarves and the rest of the rabbitfolk pay you no mind as you go but Teensy watches you for a while as you plod on down the road.
OOC I assume you are now walking down the road and keen to get to the next stop, which according to the map Effulgyn took from MOM in ID's office, is Kindermarsh village. It is about another day's march if nothing happens at all, meaning you will arrive sometime in the morning if you decide to travel at night again.
If it helps you decide one way or the other I will point out that the landscape looks to be quite a lot greener than the journey between The Commons and Beres--you can already see that there are more trees and grass and shrubs and things growing, and more looming in the distance. In fact, the road ahead looks quite a lot different--rolling, with rolling glens starting to form on either side of the road.

Ferg watches as they leave and telepathically instructs Parson to continue to fly over the group, hopefully out of sight, to see what happens when our group leaves. After 30 minutes Parson is to catch up to Ferg and the group and telepathically communicate what he saw after they left.
“What do ye say, lads?,” asks Effulgyn cheerfully. “Camp out at dark? Or push through all night? I’d say, let’s see how the terrain treats us and if we happen upon a nice protected spot after we’ve put some miles between us and Beres, we camp there.”
