"Wonderful. Will you be ready to commence at once? Outlying farms are being terrorized by a scarecrow come to life. It has slaughtered livestock, chased horses, and spooked farmers. No people have been killed as yet, so the City Guard is dragging its heels. Something must be done! As well, I will bestow on you each a charm of restoration to assist you."
You reach Undercliff before dark, and knock on the door of the nearest farmhouse. An elderly man steps out, and peers quizzically at you. "Are the tax collectors sending muscle now to do their dirty work?"
Cat smiles sweetly "Who? What? No, We're here to find out more about this, scarecrow business." She gives a pleading look realizing that they haven't ate all day ether "Also we'll pay you for a home cooked meal if you'll have us."
Piers takes a look at his thin frame. "Ah. No, sir. No muscle to speak of here. But we're here on behalf of the enclave, hoping that you might provide information on the scarecrow that has been attacking farms in this area. Where it was last, what time it might strike, that sort of thing."
The druid looks to Cat. "Perhaps it is best we don't trouble the man for a meal; I can make us something that can sustain us for a good while."
Drux's stomach sounds loudly at the thought of a home cooked meal of biscuits and gravy and bacon.
Trying to mimic Piers and Cat, he attempts to diminish his size some by awkwardly just grabbing a seat on the ground.
”There is no reason for alarm as they’ve said. We’re hear to learn what is causing trouble for you and, if possible, take care of it. If you don’t know of this ‘scarecrow’ then could you please point us to a local farmer that does?”
Piers chuckles. "Oh, I know very well of the delights of country cooking. Pace yourself. Once we get back, and we start restoring the kitchens in the manor, I'll show you some of the good foodstuffs I grew up with. The same ones you speak of now. I'm a Waterdhavian by birth, yes, but a lot of my life spent on the outskirts in places like this."
Idoza had appeared about ready to interject as well. With conversation slightly shifting towards food however, the cleric looked at once amused and too embarrassed to do more than smile awkwardly at the farmer and shrug. If it were possible afterwards to spy any fields from where they were, she let her attention drift towards them, if but out of curiosity of seeing any scarecrows, normal or not, dotting the fields.

“Very well then. We’ll camp in the field, make sure not to damage anything. You can sleep soundly, and soon the other farmers should be able to as well.”
He looks to the field, looking for any tall crops or anything that can be used for cover.
"Sure if you have one. Do you have a scarecrow in your field? A normal one of course."Cat says with an inquisitive look. Thinking maybe a perfect camo.
"Not bunched up together, but certainly within eyeshot of each other." Piers responds. "You guys can take the tent, I'm more of an under-the-sky type myself. I'll take second watch then."
“Well, we could stay grouped, may not make a difference. But an individual versus a group could appear easier bait. I’m game for whichever, it was just a thought.”

Drux looks to Piers setting up for first watch. Struggling his shoulders, he says, “Alrighty, I guess I’ll take second watch.” With that, Drux sets his pack down, and gets rest to get some rest before his watch.
"As tempting and perhaps even prudent as it would be to further investigate the fields, I fear it'll become a needle in a haystack sort of situation, love." Idoza chimed in on the druid's behalf on the way to the impromptu camping site(s?). "Not that we exactly got many answers there from the farmer. Who, uhm... is perhaps a little hard of hearing?" She smirked weakly and shook her head. "I'll take last watch. And if the together approach doesn't quite pan out, then next time we can try the partner way."
At that, Idoza followed along but drifted somewhat in thought. As she wasn't exactly a camping type as well, when drawn in to help, it is the others she follows the example of with much enthusiasm and amusement.

Drux turns to the field, thinking to himself. “It should be a fun night.”
To the group he asks, “Should we stay clustered or separate a bit? Either way I’ll take first watch.”
"Not bunched up together, but certainly within eyeshot of each other." Piers responds. "You guys can take the tent, I'm more of an under-the-sky type myself. I'll take second watch then."
Cat tilts her head in askance "If we're trying to be attacked acting as bait. Shouldn't we be more together?"

Cat follows Piers to the field and helps to set up camp "I guess we could just wait. Or investigate."
