Khessa then shares her reflections with the rest of the party: "If it is only some kind of big black amoeba, it must not be too smart. We should be able to use a goblin's dead body as a bite, lure The Blob in sight, then fight it from distance. If the dead body will not work... oh, well, we have also two living goblins here that we can use as bite. If The Blob has to move by crawling, it will be not much fast. We should be able to move and shot him (with ranged weapons and spells) before it can reach us. We can run for a while if The Blob gets too near, then resume fire from a safe distance. We have many attack types to try: bolts, my Fire bolt, the spells of Kan, Kramyra and Gryrim... Something should be able to harm it. I think we can kill it."
Ev'alish shifts. "Doth the blob monster patrol the place or stay rooted to one spot? We will likely need to deal with Not-Boss Hark at some point, and if the latter, we may engage their forces first, prevail, rescue the villagers, and then take out the blob thing after a longer rest."

"We could as well fight blob first and the goblin forces after a longer rest..." Khessa replies "I was for blob first because it seems less dangerous to me. Do you think the other way around? Goblin forces less dangerous than blob?"
“The blob. Maybe it’s slow? I feel better about dealing with something slow than to deal with experienced warriors. And we can take the villagers back then! Lick our wounds and come back for the warriors after I’ve had a bit of time to prepare.” Kan holds up a stick he’s holding with a few odd, partially finished carvings on it. “This business has had my mind working fast in some projects that will give us an advantage.”
"Blob then?" Tries to summarize Khessa "If somebody has arguments against, speak now. Else... pudding time"
Then to the goblin ally: "What about the two sleeping prisoners, Boss Pojo? Do you think it's worth the trouble triyng to convince them to join us? Or they are good only as Blob's bite?"
"Guys, those goblins are going to wake any second, that spell only lasts a minute. Let's just see what they say surrounded by us when they wake. That should determine how we handle them. Then yeah, lets mince this blob." Kramyra says from behind the group.
“I like how you think, Golden Locks and considering that the remaining enemies can be stronger that the ogres then maybe we could focus on releasing the villagers and then smoke the cave.” He says putting another arrow over the longbow, fulling expecting more fight to happen.“If the cave has no other exit we can block the point where we entered, make a fire and leave just enough space to the smoke enter. We can hide and rest while Hark and his goons suffocate. If they make their way out, traps on their path - the bonfire, caltrops, readied attacks with advantage from stealth, spells.”
Sorjen was happy to see that his companions where fine to consider approaches even more aggressive than direct battle. Not that he demonstrated. Admittedly the half-elf was too stoic for his own good. Tell what you want about this lot, he said with the voice of his mind, but they understand what is necessary to survive in the field of battle. They might just save all of the villagers.
“Pojo, make sure to tell your allies to surrender if we face them.”Anything to make their struggle easier was a welcome addition. “I will take my position in stealth behind the group as soon as we start moving.”
"The smoking idea sounds great, Shadow Stalker" reflects Khessa. "We should definitely consider it. So... we kill The Blob first. Just let's listen to what Boss Pojo advises about the prisoners, then we may start"
Khessa starts to think about the better way to ambush a black amorphous mass: "Ok, so I'd say we use one of the prisoners as bite for The Blob. We keep the other prisoner away in case something goes wrong (like for example The Blob escapes us and we need to lure it a second time). We put the bait at the start of the zone The Blob haunts. I Light the clothing of the bite, so we should easily spot The Blob when it comes (or the bite being engulfed, if The Blob is super-stealthy and we don't spot it). We stay away, maybe 40'? We all can shot without problems from that distance? Then, when The Blob comes, we shot it. Hopefully, it comes to us. Else, we'll have to follow him (should be easy, if he drags the lighted bite). We pay attention at how fast The Blob moves and try to always keep distance and shot. If it gets too near, we run for a while, re-estabilishing distance, and we resume shotting him. If some of our attacks can damage him, we should win. There's somebody that has other ideas? Flaws in the plan? Ways to improve it? Else, let's start. The hostages are waiting..."
"An idea I'd like even more," Khessa's blue eyes shine "would be to CAPTURE this blob, using a big enough glass container... This monster could then become a handy secret weapon... or an interesting study subject... but alas, we don't have anything like that. I think we will have to kill it"
Ev'alish glances down to the corroded scimitars. "Oh... those art the fallen goblin's blades. Thy metal is corroded, me hopes I will not be a hindrance without spells, for my javelins are few..."
"Just a mass of self-moving black goo?" Khessa tries to investigate more "How kills? Has to engulfs victims? And what's its size?"

"We cannot know for sure until it might be too late." Ev'alish replies solemnly.
"Either way ok for me. And you all?" Khessa asks the other Cabbage Patch Companions "What do you prefer? Blob first or Hark first?"
“The blob. Maybe it’s slow? I feel better about dealing with something slow than to deal with experienced warriors. And we can take the villagers back then! Lick our wounds and come back for the warriors after I’ve had a bit of time to prepare.”

"You have a point, mistress Kramyra" says Khessa, then she takes a rope from her backpack and binds the sleepers.

Ev'alish nods. "Let us begin. Sire Pojo, please point us in the direction of the Blob!"
Kan stays ready with a spell and his eyes flit around the cave for anything shimmery like a big, wet, blob.
