Ev’alish goes to stand by the window as well, pausing. He mutters to himself for a brief moment. “Were there not another set of tracks, human ones, leading north out of town? If we make haste and follow them, perchance we may find our survivors.”
Khessa gently places her hand on the silver-scaled shoulder of the dragonborn: "And follow shall we, my friend. But it is not better finish checking the other buildings first? We still have not found a dozen goblins, we are not even near that number, there must still be many hiding... and we are better prepared to meet them than any returning survivor will ever be."
"Horses! Let's get out there to meet whoever it is and hopefully we'll find out more." Kramyra moves towards the door, and turns back to say, "Kella, feel free to join us, we'll keep you out of harms way." And heads out the door.
Khessa is a bit doubtful of what is goin on. Firts giants... then goblins... then we find this woman... then horses approaching... She thinks it might be better to be wary: "Guys... why not to wait here and watch who is coming from windows, while we can take cover? You know, goblins are still around and the villagers had no horses. We do not know who is coming... and why. In case of trouble, would not be better to put our ranged weapons to good use from here? While Ev'alish and I can probably hold position in corridor to prevent to be outnumbered? Just in case, you know... If we see the newcomers are harmless or even better helpfull, then we can go out."
"Khessa, you have a point." Kramyra says hanging in the doorway, "But why don't we head down to the towers to get the best vantage point to see what is going on while we still have time?"
"Because I do not know if we have the time" Khessa tries to assess the distance of the horses "and I'd hate to be surprised in the open. But if we all agree to try to go for the towers, it might be ok for me too"
Khessa: "So be it. Let's try to reach the towers then. Kella, follow them, you'll have a perfect position to shot from the towers, if needed. I'll be right behind you, guarding the tower door once we get inside. Quickly!"
Sorjen didn’t understand why Khessa thanked him. He was not praising her, merely stating the true. Until that moment he had not complaints to make of her and the encounters with beasts and goblins where prove more than enough of her capability with a blade. Moira, one of his masters in the Enclave, used to say that when it comes to mercenary work a smart men should look for companions not only capable in battle, but also companions that he could stand outside of the fray. The warrior fitted the bill and the ranger wanted to say as much, but decided that it could take the conversation to a subject far too particular. Something that didn’t bother their fellow dragonborn. So, two escapees, one from the Drow and one from a white dragon, together with the miserable that decided to risk his life so his family would not starve to death. Quite the delightful bunch. he said to himself as Kramyra started discussing what the group should do next.
“He knows half of things. The half that comes after one discussing what one is trying to do, to make sure if it’s not a bad idea or that there’s no one better for the job.”At least that was how the rangers did in the High Forest. “We should look for the windows here, and from them. See if we can catch what’s causing the commotion. I would take any help.”
And raining in the tavern that is what he tries to do.
@DM, Sorjen tries to find in one of the rooms a opening/window from which he can see what is happening on the streets. Finding such place he would make a visual scout of what he sees, I'm assuming with advantage (since he asked for someone's Help action). Should I roll Investigation to find such window/viewpoint or simply roll perception with advantage?
A prisoner? Or... A SLAVE? Khessa does not trust these newcomers a bit! And Kella... Why are they looking for her? Nightstone seems to have in store a surprise after the other!
If Kan and Kramyra have had the time to reach the tower:
Khessa joins them, adivising Ev'alish in a whisper: "They outnumber us. Safer to continue the conversation from inside the tower. Come with us". In the tower, she will position herself just inside the door, like in the fight with the worgs, to be able to fight only an enemy at a time.
Else, if Kan and Kramyra are still near the inn:
Khessa speaks: "Right Ev'alish! Come, let's tell her she has visits! Just a moment dear sirs"
Then whispers to Kan and Kramyra: "They outnumber us. And I do not like them. Let's not split. Find a window to range them from safety" and enters the inn. She positions herself in a place when only an enemy at a time should be able to come. Maybe in the corridor on the upper floor, just a few steps after the end of the stairs?
And if Kella is still here, she tells her: "Men outside, asking for you. They know your name. They do not look like peaceful pilgrims. Are they friends of you? Who are they? And who are you?"
While her group exchanges pleasantries with the new found woman, Kramyra checks out the window to see if she can see any movement, perception: 8
(DM: have we searched this building?)

“Nothing good happens unless we move!” Kan starts running for the outside, dropping the armor he found and looking to spy the new arrivals.

Kramyra winks at Khessa, “See, Kan knows what’s up.” And she follows Kan out the door

Ev'alish follows Khessa. He spots the riders and waves to them, standing his pike up idly beside him. "She art safe inside the inn. Who asks?"
