“That’s where this work and next ones com in handy. With an acting policy of no evil deed and good results across the board my actions will prove that I am not a bad influence and the threatening name will serve as an advertisement that I can be dangerous to enemies. It’s all part of the branding.”He answered to Khessa just before unleashing his ranged attack against the goblin.
As the creature fell, it’s body forgetting warmth forever, he entered the kitchen to retrieve his arrow. Having done so he followed the others to the upper floor, a little smile escaping his lips with while little discussion about cabbages took place.
“I’m going to look at the other rooms, you guys make sure to look for traps before opening any lock.”He said from the corridor, going for the last room.
Part of him was curious about what Kan meant by light activity. Maybe he had his escapades or maybe enjoyed opening locks. It was not like only burglars needed to use thieves tools. Part of a locksmith work is opening locks when they break or someone lose their keys. Not to mention that folk hired to test security and special forces always need to know how to do that.
Khessa meets with her blue eyes Sorjen's icy ones and her hand gently touches the half-elf's arm, as the two find themselves side by side to go and search the remaining chambers: "No evil deed and good results you say? Why, then, when we have settled this giants business, not hunt down a gang of drow slavers in the Underdark and free their captives? Should you succeed in that, it would proof that you can be VERY dangerous to enemies. It would help you a lot with the branding... And, of course, I would help you with the task."
Her expression betrays a fair share of uncertainty and anxiety as she tries to guess what the answer will be. It is clear that this question, although asked almost casually, is of great importance to her.
“As long as it is not a suicide mission and someone in the hunting party knows the slavers’ route, because I admit that when it comes to the Underdark I know little more than its universal tongue, sure.”It really would make wonders for his reputation, especially with the Harpers and the Lord’s Alliance. Both fought quite a lot with the Zhentarim, which in turn have always run human trafficking. There was definitely good coin to make in there, and he always despised the idea of slavery. Maybe that was the reason Khessa asked him about that. Maybe she had a personally strong reason to hate slavery. Not my place to meddle, Sorjen told himself, deciding not to pry. He barely knew the human, she had no reason to speak something that intimate and he wouldn’t want to constrain her in doing so. “Going by what I saw of your skill, working with you again would be a bonus.”
If they finished that job alive and well enough to adventure any further. Something that looking at the house destroying boulders, could very well not happen. The ranger then notices the tabaxi approaching in the direction of the last room and gives her the space to make the search. He was better at noticing people than things, especially if those things were not in the wild.
"Thanks, shadow stalker, both for your answer and for appreciating my skills" smiles Khessa. "I'm glad you don't see me as just a few wisps of blonde locks. So maybe you'll get to know my family, in the future... But let's finish the job at hand now"
“Oh! I am so happy to see someone alive!” Kramyra tells the stranger. Then shouting to her friends, “Hey guys! I found someone!” She goes back to addressing the woman, “My name is Kramyra, we’ve been asked to come to this village to assist against the giant attack and so far all we have found is goblins. Who might you be?”
Ev'alish nods to Khessa. "Feareth not. I, too, hath the mind to accompany you and free the poor souls captured by the drow! I knoweth the pain of being captured and unable to exert one's free will."
When Kramyra shouts to the group, Ev'alish comes running with pike in hand (she didn't say it wasn't an enemy). When he spots the woman, he sighs with relief and leans it against the wall. "My name is Ev'alish, madame. We art glad to find you alive, what with the carnage outside."
Khessa hugs Ev'alish as her blue eyes widen in gratitude: "Thank you very much! These words of yours mean a lot to me. I know I'll need all the help I can get." Then, worried, just caressing the silver scales: "But what have they done to you? We never had occasion to talk about it before ... Have you also been captured by the drow? If you want to tell me later, I'll be glad to listen. And if there will be something I can do about it, I'll be happy to help. NOBODY should be unable to exert his free will. If you are not free, you are already like dead."
Then he also joins Kramyra and, seeing the woman in leather armor, thinks aloud: "You have armor... you are in an inn... you have had the intrependence and the skills to survive the giants and goblins assault without getting caught... Let me guess: you're an adventurer like us, right? And you killed the goblin below" (scans the woman to see if she actually has a crossbow - and maybe other weapons too). "Would you like to join us? We could all stay safer. And could you tell us what happened here? We just arrived."
Kan holds up his fingers and waffles them. “I’m no burglar or anything, but I do enjoy some light… um… activity. Allow me to see if I can open that up for you.”
He tries to open the chest Thieves’ tools 20
The chest opens easily to your deft fingers. The chest contains a suit of chain mail sized for a dwarf, a dwarven helm, a leather bag that holds 45 gp and two 100 gp gemstones, and a potion of some sort.
Kan scoops it all up, slinging the bag over one shoulder and then hauling the armor in both hands.
“I did it! I feel like a real- oh! Who’s this then? A survivor?”
OOC: The woman is in the last room or there is still a room to check? Does Sorjen believes in her (may I roll a Insight Check to see if he believes in what she is saying)?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Does Khessa see crossbow or bolts on her or in her room? Khessa still thinks that the woman must be the one that killed the goblin below (we did not find anyone else here!)... If a perception roll is needed: 11

"Twas not the drow, nay, but a cruel white draconian beast! I shalt delve into that tale later, once we art finished our exploration today." Ev'alish replies.
The dragonborn approaches the woman. "The goblins in the village hath been dealt with, their mischief halted for the time being. Our task remains - finding the survivors of this humble village. Perhaps you hath seen them or where they hath gone and would be able to point the way?"
Khessa to the woman: "You are right, lady. Better to finish checking the whole village. Speaking of that... we saw the goblin you shot below! Sure you put that crossbow of yours to good use! Come with us and help! We will all be safer, together. We will be able to protect you and you will be able to shot some more pillager. Nightstone will be free again in no time. Deal?" and she offers the outstretched out hand to shake "What's the name, by the way?"
"Hmm.. nothing in this room!" Kramyra shouts out, forgetting about being quiet. She heads to the next door on the right.
