Ev'alish bows his head to the tabaxi. "Kramyra. 'Tis an honor to have fought at thy side. Fare thee well on your journey, and we shalt remember thee always."
She is available! Sent you her nickname in private message; she knows that you might write to her about joining this campaign. If you like, contact her!
Khessa, already saddened by the departure of her tabaxi mentor and friend, is a bit worried about the town's apparent lack of defenses... but tries to stop negative thoughts. Maybe this is a peaceful town that usually doesn't get attacked... or that has other defenses; a very effective cavalry perhaps?
As the Cabbage Patch Companions walk around town, the blonde arcane warrior looks around for Alaestra Ulgary's trading post.
If she spots it, she signals him to the others and she enters, to bring the sad news.
If she is not finding it, she tries to stop a passerby: "Good morning!" she smiles brightly, while still holding her children by the hand "I'm Khessa and these are my children, Sarvin and Yondra! We have just arrived here in Triboar. How are you? I'm looking for Alaestra Ulgary's trading post, could you tell me where it is, please?"
Ev'alish takes a moment to stare up at the banner at the entrance to the keep. "Marvelous... I must inquire about the story behind this town and its name sometime."
He pauses as Khessa gets the attention of the passerby, waiting to hear their response.
Khessa smiles back, but with little conviction and with her face veiled with sadness: "Good morning Alaestra, if I had come here to Triboar to shop, yes, without a doubt this would be a place where I would look for the 'more durable products' of which you speak, but unfortunately I am here for a sadder assignment. My name is Khessa, this is my partner Ev'alish and these are our children Yondra and Sarvin" (the blonde arcane warrior does not think she has to introduce her 'brother' too, at this point, so Anator remains quiet comfortably hidden by her thick blonde curls). "We come from Nightstone. There was big trouble there... Giants attacked the village and stole the stone that gave it its name. Zhentarim and goblins tried to take advantage of the chaos that had arisen. I and my fellow adventurers, the Cabbage Patch Companions, we managed to save the village, but in the course of all those troubles, sadly, your ex-husband, Darthag Ulgar, who ran a Lionshield Coster trading post similar to this one there, was among the victims. He lost his life, Alaestra. It is to bring this bad news, that we have traveled this far" the tall warrior-mage puts a hand on her shoulder compassionately; "we are very sorry, Alaestra".
Khessa gives the woman time to recover her composure, if necessary, then she asks her: "We know that giants are in uproar everywhere here in the North - and we are trying to do something about it. There were any problems here in Triboar too?"
Alaestra gasps, covering her mouth. "Sad news indeed. Thank you for coming all this way to inform me. We have not had giant problems yet, but we all live in fear. Recently, Goldenfields, the Breadbasket of the North was attacked. Luckily, some adventurers not unlike yourselves defended the town, and saved the farmers." She smiles at you. "Will you be here long?"
"Oh, well..." reflects Khessa "If the giants attacked 'the Breadbasket of the North' maybe that's where we should go next... They probably wanted to loot food and if they didn't, even if they were temporarily thwarted, they might try again later. Maybe we should head there to find a way to stop them permanently".
"Anyway" the blonde arcane warrior smiles back "no, we do not plan to stay here for long. We only came here to inform you... as you can see we also brought our children with us..." she strokes Yondra and Sarvin's hair "Ours should have been a plain journey, not a mission. To tell the truth, during the travel we had some unusual encoutner and discovered that we'll need to take care of this business of giants, so after what you just told us, I thought we'd start with Goldenfields. It is our only lead at the moment... But first of all we'll have to get our kids back to Nightstone, safe. Do you want to send someone with us to take over the trading post of your ex-husband? Or maybe to come yourself? In this case, we could travel together".
Ev’alish looks concerned. “Mayhape we shalt employ a more discrete method of transport for the children than a castle that shall be attacked by other giants… mayhaps a hired carriage or wagon.”
"Oh, a wagon can be attacked by giants anyway, my dear..." points out Khessa, smiling at her beloved dragonborn "... but Zephyros is already gone, so we couldn't choose the flying fortress even if we wanted to. We will have to do the return trip with more conventional means. Precisely for this reason I want to understand if Alaestra or some of his representatives want to travel with us... If they have a wagon, we could travel together. They would bring the means of transport, while we could take care of the defense. We would all win".
Khessa turns and looks at the Cabbage Patch Companions: "What do you think, guys? Shall we wait until tomorrow? It might be a sensible advantage, to journey with Alaestra's associate... Since it is only a matter of a day, I'd advise to wait. We could use this day to ask Darathra Shendrel if she has more informations about giants' activity, for example. But what's your opinion?"
Ev'alish bows his head to the tabaxi. "Kramyra. 'Tis an honor to have fought at thy side. Fare thee well on your journey, and we shalt remember thee always."
(I'd be good for a new player as well)
Great! Just sent message, I'll update you as soon as I get the reply.

Guess so; we already were, as Kramyra left...
